  1. pls check the 15amp fuse, it should be blue and it is the one closest to the top on this picture im attaching, that fuse will have a blue/black wire that goes to the blue relay you can see in the photo
  2. hey i was wondering if anyone has come across this problem with nissan datascan, it loads up and i have it plugged upto my car and when i click on connect it finds my ECU and connects to it and then the program shuts down without any error message and then the laptop shuts down. I had this problem once before and i remember that i figured out what was wrong and got it working but that was a few years ago and i carnt remember what i did to fix it. I took auto find and auto connect off and i set the port manually and i even tired changing the port number from COM3 to COM2 but it still shuts down on me, i thought it had something to do with port numbers but maybe i was wrong. If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it pls pls pls let me know cos its so fustrating lol

    UPDATE after changing all that stuff it ended up being the injectors, they were clogged from running that cheap 91 octane crap, i put a bottle of injector cleaner in it and its all good now. I only started putting it in a year ago cos the car is running so rich and dumping most of the good 98 out the exhaust so cos of that i used 91 and that dirty crap clogged up everything. Let this be a lesson to anyone else running rich and thinking of putting the cheap crap in cos its spittin your good unburnt 98 out the rear, its not worth it, get your car tuned instead cos it will save you alot of headaches

I have an R33 Gtst s2 and a few weeks ago i went to pick up my girlfriend from the airport and since i live in ballarat it is a long drive there and back so i filled up my tank almost full and since then the car has been surging, i never normaly put that much fuel in the tank and its usually half full as a maximum cos i dont drive much so i thought it might have something to do with filling the tank full cos it may have had some crud buildup higher up on the tank that isnt usually disturbed but it could be anything really, i filled up at the usual place and i put the 91 octane stuff in cos the car runs rich so since it wastes alot of fuel it makes sense to put the cheaper stuff in. Anyways i have just put new plugs and a fuel filter in and it didnt fix it and i just put some injector cleaner in it and im going to give it a big long drive tomorrow. It seems to only surge when im accelerating so if im sitting on the freeway its good but if im just getting onto the freeway and accelerating upto speed it will surge, does anyone have any hints on what could be the oroblem or can tell me what i can check next
  5. i can check all the voltages or resistances from my plugs and anything related to the pump in my r33 with a multimeter and if you have one you can verify if you have the exact voltages or resistances with yours if you want

I have done a few lil things under the hood over the years that i have had my car and because of that i have quite a few parts and hoses and stuff and i was looking through them and found a lil bent hose that i have no idea where it was from, its from the engine bay in an r33 gtst, its not important im just curious now cos i can look at every other part and know where it goes lol
  8. ok my original from my series2 was a much bigger gear and it had 11 teeth and the secondhand one had a much smaller gear with 8 teeth on it, the starter motors look just about identical, they are so identical in fact that i was able to mix and match parts from the two starter motors to make the one i needed for my car, i guess when the fast software said interchangeable they meant that the parts from them are interchangeable.
  9. my original starter motor part number is 23300-08U15 and the secondhand one is 23300-08U11
  10. i get a few clunks when i change height settings on my tein suspension, its just the springs bedding in again, if its just this it should go away after a while
  11. i removed my starter motor with great difficulty and noticed that the secondhand one i brought is slightly and has a smaller pinion gear, my original one has a larger 11 tooth gear on it and the secondhand one has a smaller 8 tooth gear. I checked the starter motor part numbers and the nissan fast software says that the starter motors will both fit my car but obviously not, in assuming thats what it means by code 2 in the fast software, code 2 says interchangable
  12. is the castor bar also called a torsion bar? cos i used the fast program and it said it was a torsion bar
  13. i havnt removed it yet so the car has oul and runs but to check and measure the size i will need to remove it and the oil will drain so i hoped someone could tell me what size so i can buy it before i remove it lol
  14. oh and i think you need a lil silicon sealant for that back moons to help them seal to the gasket, im pretty sure thats what the nissan engine manual says as well, i dont know why the hell they didnt make the half moons attached to the main cam cover gasket for, it would have been so mush simpler
  15. yes the 2 cam covers are about $70 and the 2 moons were pretty cheap but those rubber washer things are 2 metal washers with a big rubber section between them, they look surprisingly big and tall when you buy them new but they compress down, i didnt replace all the washer things cos it would have cost way too much cos you need quite a few of them as you know
  16. hey all i have a coolant and oil leak so i had to get under the car and i noticed a strange fluid that is on the bushing and pooled up ender it about to drip, it looked clear and maybe a lil whitish as well, the bushing has a big fresh crack in it and i can tell its a fresh crack cos the crack it really clean and on the other side there is a crack as well but its all dusty and dirty in the crack so thats why im pretty sure its a fresh crack, its not engine oil or coolant even tho there is oil over most of the underside of the car this is off to the side and its all dry right around that area and the oil is all black so it carnt be engine oil, im thinking these bushes might have some fluid in them or something but i dont know for sure so i was wondering if anyone knows what it could be

Thankyou again this really helped me, i just brought one just before you replied to me from a guy, i havnt received it yet and i was a lil worried about if it was the right one at first but after seeing your reply and the photos i compared it to the photo the guy sent me and thanks to you i am now sure it will be the right one. You done a really good job on your reply mate and i think you would be awesome at doing diy tutorials and stuff
  19. and pls make sure to check the manifold for slight warping cos they are famous for the 1st and 6th to warp
  20. no need to remove lines, i have done this twice on my exact car as yours, i have tons of pics if they will help and if you have any questions i can help you, i know torque specs and how to tighten the manifold studs in the head and what order to tighten the manifold nuts up, you really need to do it in order
  21. i know its a pain but you need to remove each fuse 1 by 1 and check them to see if any are blown, it will probably be 1 of the ones near your steering wheel mate, let me know after you check each one and if its not a fuse i will help you trace the problem yourself and fix it

Does anyone know the exact inside and outside dimensions for a sump crush washer for an rb25det from a r33 series 2 gtst i think i only need to know the outside dimension of it cos i think all crush washers have the same wall thickness. Yes i will be able to measure the old one but that is after i have already removed it and if its removed i carnt drive the car cos it wont have oil haha if no one knows the dimensions i will have to wait and get them from nissan but i would live to just drive round the corner tomorrow and get some from an auto shop

  24. hey i have a question about the r33 gtst aircon hose, the big one that has a silver insulation over it and goes from the firewall to the compressor, i read that a series1 hose does not fit on a series2 and i was wondering if anyone knows what is different with the series1 hose that makes it not fit on the series2 cos i need a series2 hose and i want to know how to tell by looking at it if its a series 1 or 2 so that i dont get the wrong one just in case the person i buy one from doesnt remember if it was a series 1 or 2 hose or it gets mixed up. if anyone can help i would really appreciate it thankyou ...
  25. Hey guys you all seem to know alot about aircons so i was wondering if you might be able to help me. I noticed that when driving the car my feet would get very hot after a while, i worked out that the climate control was slowly blowing hot air at my feet even tho the climate control was totaly off, it only blows very slowly and what i noticed was that if i press the blue down arrowa few times while it is still off that it actualy starts blowing cooler air instead. This is crazy cos the unit is totaly off but still blows air and it still changes the temp of the air when i press the up and down temperature arrows even tho it is off. Please any help you can give me would be helpful
