  1. if you dont have it just let me know the model code on the japanese id plate and i will enter it into the software and check for you, my code is ecr33 108 722 or something like that from memory so yours will be similar format i assume
  2. the nissan fast software will have the part number if they sell them
  3. yeah sorry i didnt explain it all properly, the engine has a loud tick when its idling, very loud and i suspect that the oil is stuffed cos i havnt changed it in years, i just keep topping it up instead so i think that might be contributing to the noisy lifters so i want to get an oil thats maybe a little thicker so it will quiet down lifter noise so that why i was asking if 10w40 is a good idea. so if anyone has any suggestions on what weight of oil i should go for a car that has 180,000k on the clock and has noisy lifters. Secondly im not sure if this other noise is from the lifters but it seems that when im driving the car it seems to whine, almost like those kids toy cars that you push a few times to wind them up and them let them go, it gets louder and faster with rpm. I just thought it was cos if the lifters cos the car is going faster so that knocking/tapping noise gets faster and turns into that noise i get, but now im not so sure. I just had the timing belt done by a mechanic and he probably just used a standard one, the noise was happening before the belt change and i could even hear it over the noise of my broken exhaust manifold, more of a winding noise than a whining noise. i will have to check to make sure its not from the alternator and i read that a power steering pump can make a whining noise but i dont know if its the same type of noise im getting. could i take the power steering belt off and take it for a drive to check if the noise is still there or gone?? anyways guys sorry for the long post, but i really need to go get oil in the morning cos it needs changing bad so does anyone have ideas on what weight to get??
  4. i have an r33 gtst and just had timing belt and a new exhaust manifold put on cos the old one cracked in half, the mechanic said my lifters are noisy so that must be the wining noise when im driving, anyways i know my oil needs changing so i wana put something thicker in to quiet it down a bit cos its loud at idle, would a 10w40 do it or what would you recommend
  5. its been a while and im wondering if anyone has seen one anywhere yet?
  6. its been a while and im wondering if anyone has seen one anywhere yet?
  7. awesome thanks for the help mate i appreciate it
  8. are you sure thats from too much heat, i just thought it might have been its original color and just hasnt rusted all over it just yet lol
  9. hey im looking at buying a stock exhaust manifold from a guy and i noticed in the photo that someone has ground down the center divider in the turbo outlet on it and i was wondering if it will be a problem, originally it was a thick divider going right to yhe top with a notch cut out of it and he has ground it right down alot, will it be good still?
  10. i live in ballarat and im looking for a close exhaust manifold thats not warped and has a good face on it

Hey i have a couple questions about this show that has been bugging me, and before you say anything the answer is yes i am aware it is somewhat scripted and i know there is nothing illegal about it and they have permission and police help keep it all safe and stuff, but anyways my questions are these first off why do they choose nitrous OR turbo, why not use both, well in only upto season 6 and some of them go from nitrous to turbo and they always talk about turbo cars being the better option and stuff, so why dont they use nitrous as well when they go turbo? secondly im confused as to how cash days work, just about the cash prize amount. like they had 32 racers with a $1000 buy in and they say winner takes all $56,000, maybe my maths is bad but shouldnt it be 32,000 seeming 32 racers each put in $1000 obviously in missing something lol
  12. did you clean it and the fingers and check with a multimeter to make sure it was reading correct ohms, i remember doing it and it took a few cleans to get it right, even tho it looked clean after the first clean it just didnt read right
  13. they were different posts like one asking if there are any aftermarket direct fit manifolds and stuff, and yes i told them what happened and put a link to this thread, i didnt think that was against rules, i could have got good help from someone who hadnt read this specific thread in it but you thought it best to delete them, just seems weird seeming these threads are to help people, i really do appreciate your post and it is very helpful for me and others but other peoples posts and thoughts are also helpful and didnt really need to be deleted in my opinion, but i see the need to keep the forum clean but they wernt the same threads reworded. The more replies with helpful hints and thoughts the better. Anyways i think it might have something to do with my timing being out from the belt needing to be changed a lot of kms ago, but yeah i will give everything a good checkout, thanks all dor the help
  14. hey i have an r33 s2 gtst and i need a new timing belt on it, i was wondering if the gears have marks on them that you lime up with the belt so that it is installed perfect, i know it needs to be tuned and stuff after the belt is installed but if i can change the belt myself and be able to start and drive the car safely then i can just get the timing tuned. I was just worried that if it didnt have marks so i know the right alignment of the gears that i could damage the engine when i go to start it
  15. and a very good question about the washers, i had a few studs broken so i removed the manifold and removed all the studs and replaced them, they were a little longer but fit well, im pretty sure i used those special concaved washers but i will double check, i do know that after i tightened them all up i did not ever check or retighten them, im not sure if i was supposed to have done that or not??
  16. the car gets no track time and i dont thrash it, so this is just normal use
  17. i dont know if it's white cos before i installed it i had it sandblasted and i painted it with a vht exhaust paint that was aluminium colour
  18. Hey i have attached a photo of what happened to my old exhaust manifold, i noticed the car started to sound louder and louder from the engine bay and when i took the cover off i saw that it had cracked and seperated into 2 pieces, i could stick the tip of my little finger into the gap, anyways i got a secondhand one and put it in and its been fine for years, but lately i have noticed it making the same noise as last time so i think its cracked again, why would an exhaust manifold do this for so often? why would it even do it at all? is it something common?
  19. still looking
  20. still interested if anyone has one
  21. hey im a long time member, i joined the day this site was created many many years ago and over that time i have contributed and posted many threads and since this app has been updated i am unable to create in the car parts forum, it says i dont have permission which is strange cos i have posted many threads in that section in the past using this app
  22. hey im after a good secondhand stand up paddle board for my wife, something good for a beginner
  23. hey im sure they make them and i know what your thinking, why would you want to put roof racks on an r33 lol but my wife wants to get into stand up paddle boarding so i need roof racks so i can transport one around when i get one for her, hopefully these roof racks are easily mounted and easily removed. So if you have a set of roof racks or if you have a good beginners stand up paddle board let me know thanks
  24. it worked perfectly, this fixed my high idle problem and i also fixed the popping noises my car was making when accelerating by putting new spark plugs in, not the car runs like brand new
  25. Hey my car suddenly developed a high idle problem and i have tracked the problem down to the cold start air regulator which is the unit hidden under the plemium, i removed it and opened it up and found that the little spring had broken, it was just the end loop so i simply bent a coil of the spring to make a new loop and it fits good, my problem is that it is still in a slight open position and i dont know if its cos the spring is worn and not pulling it closed enough or if its in this position cos it was cold when i removed it from the car, maybe it will close when i out it back in the car and the engine gets warm, i dont know how to test it off the car, one thing i read says to just put 12v into it and it will close after a couple minutes and something else said it should be closed. Does anyone know much about this unit?? i am not talking bout the aac valve on the back of the plemium either
