I reckon the smoking law is stupid, when I was 18, i was the 1st of my freinds to get my P's and we used to all smoke in the car together. (I was 18 andd some of them were 17 at the time). Seems kinda stupid that a 17yr old can legally smoke if they want to but u cant smoke if there are in the car?!?! Also if a 17 yr old is smoking in the car when every1 else is 18+ do they get a fine for exposing themselves to 1st hand smoking??!?!? Stupid law, it shoulb be for persons under the age of 16 - in line with the age that it is illegal to smoke.

So let me get this straight.... millions of lites of oil have spilled into the ocean creating what is probably one of the largest man made environmental disaster ever in history, thousands of dead wildlife and fish, thousands of americans now ruined and/or without a livelyhood and all you can think of is how will you be able to cope with having to use Shell V power now?
-
Hmmm, but i bet that once they saw him doin the burnout, there hunger to catch him must've increased exponentially to make sure that the full force of the hoon law was enforced.

so y arnt u congratulating him?

Will never happen. The diff b/w us and Germany, is that the German Govt does not rely on revenue from speed cameras. Why would they ever increase the speed limit when that would mean less revenue? I hope you pple are still not buying into the whole 'road safety' marketing ploy.

Mate i'm pretty sure that with the impounding laws there us a limit to the time after the offence that they are allowed to charge u. Im not 100% sure, but u might wanna check this out, coz if theve taken too long then it will be dismissed. Good luck with ur case buddy and dont forget, they are the enemy!

We have to riot. Every1 get ur gas masks and balaclavas ready, time to riot....euro style

This is another exapmple of the govt specifically targetting certain members of society. If they are serious about this then the law should extend as follows: Same rule for hoons as for drinkdriving - impounding and crushing fro drink drivers. Impound and crushing laws for mobile phones: If u are caught using a mobile while driving, then u get it confiscated dor 3 days and on 3rd offense the phone gets crushed. End of the day, they can go to extreme lengths with laws to target certain members within out society. End of the day, all this creates in tension within society. We have something good here in Aus. If you goto other countries around the world you will see some hoorrific examples of isolated communities, ghettos and class warfare. These kind of laws are leading the way to that. If your going to make those sort of draconian laws then you have to do it for all offences across the board. Drink driving is no safer and no less safe than hooning type offences. Reason why they will never crush pples cars for drink driving - coz even Judges, police officers and politicians are somethimes caught doing it. People wanna protect themselves 1st and foremost. You guys that are making these laws let me remind you of one thing. Although you say you are trying to protect us from ourselves, we are not fooled, you want to isolate target us then so be it. Don't forget this though, that one day it is you that will be retired/pensioners and us that will be running the country.

Any1 that is dobbing ppl in for breaking road rules/EPA with any intention other that trying to block up the system, u guys are seriously rats. Geez, i thought it was the baby boomer generation dobbing ppl in. In the case of some1 doing vandalism/robbery/assault then of course dob in. Theres a diff b/w trying to make a situation better and simply just dobbing ppl in that are doing no harm to u.

Oil Pressure Low After Installation Of Components
Taso84 replied to Taso84's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
no it doesnt really, just seemed to rise alit bit as the engine got hotter (prob as the oil got thinner and could bypass the blockage into the oil pressure gauge) And to answer all the other question, yes i do understand the importance of oil pressure, but before u just blindly flame me, maybe have a closer read of wat ive asked. To clarify, i am wondering whether a blockage in the oil fliter housing/ damaged orings would be bad in the short term in terms of damage to the engine. The way i understand it (i could be wrong), if either these 2 are the problem there is still oil pressure in the engine, but the oil is just not getting to the pressure sender and hence not displaying on the gauge. I realise if its blocked, the oil is not getting filtered properly and over the long run this is bad. I also did abit of research and apparently some ppl have had the same symptoms and found out it was a faulty oil filter. I didnt buy a ryco this time as i normally do, but i dont really see how a faulty oil filter could cause this problem. Thanks for the help guys so far, good to be able to discuss this on a public forum... Ill keep this updated as i go just in case any1 else stumbles onto a similar situation. -
Oil Pressure Low After Installation Of Components

yea i realise that is prob the best thing to do, but just wondering if it is the o-ring is the car still driveable? It does gain some oil pressure as it warms up -

So under these circumstances what is actually happening? the oil is not reaching the oil pressure sender? Is it ok to drive it? -
Oil Pressure Low After Installation Of Components
Taso84 replied to Taso84's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi guys, and thansk for ur feedback. Just to answer some questions, no i did not renew the oring on the housing shaft, so im not sure whether it is there or not. If this were missing, what would be the consequences? Also, no i dont have a oil cooler now, basically my old housing broke due to overtightening of a sandwich plate. T04GTR, when u say open up the oil cap why its running, u mean the cap from which u pour oil into right? I didnt realise u could see down there but ill check it out. -

Hi there, Normally for a problem like this, i'd goto my mechanic, but with Xmas break and all, thats gonna be a bit difficult, so hoping some1 can help me with this. To cut a long story short, I've just replaced the oil filter housing piece on my rb25DET. After screwing it all in, putting the oil pressure sender back on, refilling the oil, took it for a test drive and everything was a-ok. Then today, I started it and noticed the oil pressure gauge sitting on 0 and the oil warning light on. Checked undeaneath the car, no leaks, checks the oil level which was fine and engine also sounds fine. So im thinking the oil pressure sensor clip has come loose, so i take it for a small drive. To my horror, the oil pressure starts moving up VERY slowly, ie doesnt make it to 2kpa. Now i know low oil pressure can be a sign of engine failure or a failed pump but im thinking its too much of a coincedence that Ive just changed the oil filter housing. My first thoughts are that something is blocking or interfering with the oil pressure sender. Was wondering what other ppl think it might be, Thanks. Also FYI, I installed a new adapter onto the housing that lets me put 2 senders in it, and installed a oil temp sender in the other hole - its a gold t-pies looking thing. Also the new housing I installed was 2nd hand, I gave it a quick clean with the cloth but im worried that there might have been some large piece of gunk inside it that I couldnt see and is now blocking oil access to the sender.

Do Not Go To Coles/safeway Carpark (behind Chapel St) Today
Taso84 replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Victoria
Coles Carpark behind Chapel was a major hoon hotspot about 4-5 years ago then it got clean after a major crackdown. Was there a few weeks ago and saw that its started to flare up abit but no where near the kaos of previous years. From what I could tell mostly 16 - 19 year olds that weren't around (and didnt have a license) for the major crackdown that happened there a few years back. -
Yes the hoon blitz, just as Melbourne's CBD violence intensifies. Good to see the police out there making some revenue to offset their cost to the taxpayer

What ur doing is illegal u know

If u dont clear the defect, then u won't be able to drive the car in Vic but in other states it will be ok. Thats what i was told by a police officer once but I was abit sceptical.
