Nah man, what do u mean by "us aussies?" Im just as Australian as you are, born and raised here, but that really is irrelevant. All i was saying is that the public is stupid and fickle and yes they do get influenced by such programs as ACA and 60min. Take the time to do a bit of thinking for urself... instead of absorbing the crap that is fed to us every day. Read between the lines, sort out the facts from the bs. Not having a go at u at all, no need to take offence mate. Innocent until proven guilty, just coz he doesnt want to answer ur questions doesnt mean hes guilty. He might have to goto court about this, u dont know, and if he does, speaking on these forums about the matter would be stupid and could possibly be viewed as trying to influence the court case No, i am looking at the facts, goto page one and see what people have been saying. There is no bandwaggon for me to jump on since i am the only one voicing these views so before you start firing the cliches at me think about what i have said. If u cant attack my argument dont attack me personally. All it shoes is that u lack the intellectuall capacity to string a logical argument together. If u dont agree with me thats cool, tell me where u think i am wrong.

Taso84 replied to ER3498GTT's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Pics? please thanks -
I got 1 of these, so far so good, does the job and seems pretty secure. $435 is also a good price ($450 - $500 about standard from what i can remember). Also complies with AS/NZS so ur insurance company will like it. Hope this helped

Seriously guys, u honestly not going to believe what a newspaper says. So what, theres a picture of him with a guy hanging out the window. The guy in the window is an idiot for putting his own life in danger, not danielson for being the driver. Also, nowhere in the articule does it say that the orange skyline was speeding or driving like a hoon. U guys are just like typical dumb aussie voters (children overboard affair), so easily influenced by media hype. Mayb hes guilty mayb hes not, but for gods sake calling somebody a f^&*wit when u weren't even there says more about your intelligence than it does about his.

Yes drag racing up princess highway is bad, dangerous and some1 could get seriously hurt however as a taxpayer wouldn't u rather see ur hard earned tax dollars being spent on the police force be directed towards solving real crimes and catching real criminals. I mean if the police put the same amount of effort and resources towards fighting drugs and robberies the streets would be so much safer. I challenge any1 on these forum to say that they do not know at least 1 drug dealer. The police say they dont have time to get every single offender, mrs Nixon states that the force is cashstrapped and needs more funding... and here they are wasting it. A funny scene once for me was outside a certain club on chapel street that goes by the name of a reptile creature one Friday night. There are people in the line who are obviously dealers, and inside if any1's been ull know why nobody buys drinks. Anyhu, right outside the front there were cops standing round a VL turbo defecting it. I felt like walking up to the cops, pointing to the club and saying, u wanna catch some criminals just walk into there, but i didnt of course. Dont get me wrong, drag racing should be stopped but i really think that there are more important crimes out there that need attention first.

Oi guys, dont get carried away or anything. Its not the end of the world if ur car gets broken into. Obviously u would want to take measures to minimise the risk but saying "im never parking at chaddy again" or "i will be taking the train from now on" is over the top. Don't let it affect ur lifestyle. Trust me worst things can happen. The world is full of fu(kwits

Got Pulled Over While On Suspension
Taso84 replied to BLACKR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If u had read what i wrote correctly u would have noticed i said that if he does it 1 more time he will goto jail. The system basically is three strikes and your out but it is always up to the judges discetion. So read b4 u dish out sh*t, mate btw i didnt see the guy do it but some people went to court with him and the cop told the court exactly what happend. And yes, if u are found guilty in the court you will have a record no matter what coz it never gets wiped clean even though technically its not a "criminal record" -

Also forgot to mention, my mate was drifting his 180 when he was caught and he was a full on smartass to the cop so u have nothing to worry about. -
Got Pulled Over While On Suspension
Taso84 replied to BLACKR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My mate got pulled over twice while under suspension, the first time he went to court got his suspension doubled and got a fine (700-800) from what i remember. Second time he went to court again and got his suspension doubled again (cumulative) and got a $2000 fine. He's got a record now (any conviction in court gives u a record no matter what) and the judge said if he does again he'll go to jail. Trust me man, u wont go to jail. Don't stress bout it, see it as an opputnity to save some dosh to do up ur car for when u get it back. Plus public transport is not that bad in Melbourne... cough... cough. Nah seriously its not that bad, just gotta get used to waiting. Good luck with it -
Power....when Do You Think Its Enough?
Taso84 replied to nsta's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Its like money nsta, when ur poor u say if i had 10 million dollars i would give half of it to all my mates and i would never work again. However the more u have the more u want, more and more and more... Its like a game, a sick game, a sick addiction, it becomes an obsession until it devours you... or until u wrap urself around a pole (God forbid) 250rwkw i reckon would be enough for me btw. -
Headlight Stayhs On When Lights Are Turned Off
Taso84 replied to decoyslikecurves's topic in General Maintenance
Not to hot with electrics either, but my friends dad is, ill ask him 2moro. Sounds like some wires mayb touching each other. PS isnt the fuse for the headlights the same fuse? -
Hmmm, I am looking at getting a new turbo for mine (got the stockie on still). Basically i want it so thaty i can safely pt the boost up to 12psi. I want more power but not the lag associated. Ie boost @2500 - 3000 I have been told by some that t3t4 is the way to go but im sure this is wrong. What type/brand turbo do u guys reckon is the way to go?
-
That is what it ended up being, took mechanics bout 30min to fix.
-
Worst case scenario, if that happened to my car, how much $$$ do u reckon i'm up for. (If anything connected with the manifold/turbo is broke i'm gonna skitz it at the mechanic cause they just refitted it)
-
Hey, how much do u guys reckon it would cost to get the heater hoses all replaced by a mechanic on a R33 GTST. From what u've said so far it does seem that easy and straightfoward as i thought it would be
-
Yea thought that might be the case, I guess in Japan they don't have 40+degrees, bloody Melbourne weather!!
-
I had my friends dad look at it 2nite, he couldnt locate the problem but said that it was coming from somewhere behind the gearbox. Is this where the heater hose is located. Its leaking really bad, the entire radiator is basically drained after a couple of minutes, i'm gonna havee to have it towed to the mechanics i think coz i dont want to cook the engine. (Malvern to Oakleigh) Is this a common symptom of a failed heater hose?
-
Hey every1. I was driving around a bit yesterday and had the aircon going pretty hard most of the day. Last nite was on chapel st when some hose under the engine broke and water started gushing out. My car started overheating and revving higher on idle so i stopped luckily in time before the temp reached into the red (it reached about 3/4 of the way up). I opend the radiator and empty, a bit of steam came out and thats it. Underneathe the car there was a loud hissing noise from the water hitting the exhaust i think. It seams to be coming out of the area around the back of the block/dump pipe area. My mate reckons its prob the heater hose that has broken since i was using air-con all day. (pretty easy to fix i heard) What i am concerned about is if its the coolant hose to the turbo that may have broken. ( i have just had the turbo refitted since the gasket needed replacing) If so its prob the mechanics fault for not fitting it properly. Now this i dont mind (replacing the coolant hose shouldnt be an expensive problem). What i do care about is if my engine/turbo have sustained any damage as a result of this event. Any experiences/advice much appreciated Taso

Buying A Skyline, Got Some Questions Tho.
Taso84 replied to seth187's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
So true, Think about it man, 4wd it mad for the race track and stuff but u will not be able to have the fun that a rwd gtst will give u. If ur buying a skyline the stupidest thing u could do is buy a gts-4. Without turbo u wont be able to do anything and the 4wd rules out any drifting/donughts for u unless u want to kill urself. Trust me man GTST all the way. Tas -
Very Loud Sqeeking Noise After Major Service
Taso84 replied to Taso84's topic in General Maintenance
Yes that is what happened. Took it back, they said the noise was from the alternator belt being to loose, and the HICAS light was turning on coz the battery was getting drained, (due to the alternator not spinning). They fixed it and now it runs all smoothe, thanx for ur help guys -
Very Loud Sqeeking Noise After Major Service
Taso84 replied to Taso84's topic in General Maintenance
Also i just realised then that the noise started happening alot when the a/c was on. Didnt get to test it but mayb this is the problem too?!? -
Hi pple, My car just today got out of the garage. I have the bolts from the manifold broken and stuck in the cylinder head. Anyhu, while that was getting fixed, i had the timing belt replaced and also two other belts were replaced due to the fact that they were on the way out apparently. When i got the car it drove fine for about 20kms. All of a sudden when i start it up theres this loud squeeking noise sounding like it might b coming from a belt. The noise started off happening when i just started, then it started happening when i was turning. Now its happening all the time and is getting louder. I noticed a few other things that happened too that might be related. When i reach about 5-6000 rpm the battery light on the dash comes on. Also just as i was about to park it in my garage, the HICAS light started coming on and i lost my power steering. My guess is that the power steering belt needs lubricating or hasnt been fitted properly although this does not explain the battery light at 5000rpm. If anyone can diagnose this problem it will be much appreciated. I am really worried about it Thanks Taso

Yes this is correct. The "rules" that u read about are just guidelines that police are given so that it does not look like they are just "revenue raising". These guidelines are just that, guidelines, not laws so u would have no case at all if u went to court.
