hi guys my names mark. I've just moved to melb from bris just wanted to say hi as i don't know many ppl here into skylines and stuff. I'm a mechanic and was working at advanced performance centre in bris. So if u have and questions i'll try my best to help. I drive a gun metal gray r32 with a rb25. as i stated before my rb30 was fine til i was being stupid one nite and cranked way too much timing into it which broke a stock na piston before that it made 336hp without even trying running the standard rb25 computer. i am refering to the number of rb30's i have seen personally that have required rebuilding and just ran like shit. i know there are several of them running around that are fine and making awesome power. this thread was started to find out ppls experiences with the hybrids which is wat im sharing!!!

yep i am a mechanic working for a pretty well known performance workshop and have seen many of these hybrids built by other workshops become nothing but heavy breathing, oil burners. i myself have built a 25/30 hybrid and if it wasn't for me being stupid one nite it would still be running and making decent power. each to their own..

rb30/25's need to be done correctly or u will end up with a pig that will be nothing but trouble. even the best 30's require constant maintenance. make sure your engine builder knows all the tricks to make it reliable.

platinums of at least a 7 heat range. coppers work well for about the first 1000k's

stock rb25det injectors can be highflowed to approx 650cc with out losing their spray pattern once u go bigger than that ur pattern starts going all over the shop. Mobile Injector Services do these and i think they're roughly $400 and the injectors are pretty much brand new.

APC is a distributor for Haltech around the south brisbane area. We no pretty much everything to do with haltechs as we deal direct with haltech itself. i strongly recommend getting your car tuned there

looking for the above parts. the speedo drive in the gearbox from a r 32 gtr. also a speedo cluster from a 32 gtst preferably the early blue ones.

if u say there's no smoke coming from the exhaust then i'd start with the missing cylinder having no fuel. cause if it was misfiring but the injector for that cylinder was still working then it would have unburnt fuel in the exhaust and make black smoke. easiest way: determine which cylinder/s are dead check for spark condition of plug and coilpack, check for injector working by putting a screwdriver onto injector and putting your ear on it and listen for it pulsing. sometimes disconnecting the injector will make it run better but this is only if the injector is leaking too much fuel. failing that try a good old compression test
