thanks gtst and wolverine, gtst, Im not sure if it was a problem with the coils or not but I aroldited and taped them allready and that didnt fix the problem. I am certain there is no vacum leaks or exhaust leaks as i had that thoroughly checked. I am going to do the acc valve clean and adjust the timing on weekend and check airflow meter. Timing is to high (idle 9000rpm). It just boosts up fine to 5000 and then feels like it is hitting a boost cut or something and car just wont gain powere above that rpm. It will if I accelarate gradually. The car is pretty standard bar a cooler, pod, and exhaust. Any ideas of what to check on wknd apart from what I said would be appreciated.

Anyone Have A Rb25 Highflow From "sliding Performance"?
ross80 replied to joe2548's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Satanic Im from brisbane/gold coast. Im not sure if its because I had that on holiday glow or something but the women in Sydney are far more willing I found when I was down there a month back. But f**k driving in that place, what a joke. Better chemists up here however if you need vitamins or berocas hehe -
Waz, In regards to the cam gears, I have a 33 with a rb25det with a front mount, pod, cat back 3inch. I will run a it more boost through it soon maybye 12-13 pound. Is there any benifit for cam gears for me with my setup? Ive thought about them before as its a mod that doesnt break the bank cheers

gtst, I didnt realize a pfc could be had for my car that cheap. Once I had one of those I wouldnt need a safc any other controller if I got the optional boost controller would I? I was thinking of biting the bullet and getting some of those bosch coils and mounting them on firewall near igniter and running leads. What's your thought s on that? Do you think they are just as good as splitfires? I know that they are a hell of a lot cheaper!($300 plus install). Cheers

I would have though 700 rpm is a bit low for a rb25 to idle? I could be wrong but my last two 33's have been around 900? -
If he is not taking the piss to stir shit up, I actually sort of feel sorry for him. Im the first to hang shit but I think Ill stop if he is legitimately struggling that much with grammer etc. Not good.

Fs: R33 Gtst '93 - Slightly Modifyed 86k Km's
ross80 replied to sindows's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Damn, Your cars worth more than that! Buy it idiots! I have a r33 with around the same mods and I am fairly sure by judging by the market up here(Gold Coast) that I could get 17k maybye 18k if I held out for a While. Car yards are selling them for around that price standard up here! No, its a good buy anyone who is chassing one, nice car -
gtst, on the subject of computers, am I able to get my computer chipped or retuned? Its a rb25det 95'. Ive heard not, but stuffed if I can afford a power fc after replacing a blown motor. Nice work on the 32 Warren, thats pretty impressivie power for the mods. My mate has my old 25 turbo in his 32, a bosch pump, cooler, pod, cat back exhaust, oil cooler, injectors, and it seems to be making a lot less than yours.

Sorry to sound ignorant but do you know the stock flow rates? And is it a direct fit into 33 tank?
-
Is the fuel pump rated much more than a stock one? What are the specs?

Randy, I pulled the coils out and siliconed them up and taped them and put new plugs in and cleaned electronic points and it helped a bit but it is not fixed. Any other ideas? -

Thanks Randy That is an awesome article which ill perform tmrw. Every question answered basically. lows 13, let me know how you go if you do it man. -
Bloody awesome article mate. I havnt performed it yet but my new engine hesitates and wont stay on a steady idle. I have done coils, plugs, fixed vacum leaks and manifold leaks (both exhaust and inlet) The car boosts up a bit better but around 5000rpm it hessitates like its hitting a limiter or something and on idle it jumps around and sometimes stalls. Ill give this a go tmrw. Very appreciative of the time it must have taken you to post this up and ill deffinantly save this on to my computer. cheers

guages arnt rice dude. Not in themselves anyway. They serve a purpose. Believe my I wish I had a accurate oil presure guage when my bearing spun destroying my motor completely. Guages can be rice if they are designed like that but they do serve a purpose. A big f**k off wing on a car that doesnt even see much more than the speed limit or go to the track regularly well that is rice in my book as it does not serve a purpose. If you want to argue about that Ill send you the bill for my engine rebuild?

And what is the tps? throttle position sensor? If someone could put up some photos, I would appreciate it. I have a rb25. Ive done everything else except this (cleaned and siliconed up coils, cleaned every sensor with contact cleaner, changed plugs 3 times) and the idle is still all over the shop and it hesitates at about 5000rpm when i put my foot down. It boosts up but something is holding it back. The idle is all over the place, would that effect performance like I have described? -

How dou know when it is in correct position and and even dumber question where is the bloody screw? Near the inlet manifold somewhere isnt it? -
Good on you ben your a rare young level headed fella. Anyhow I met this young fellow tonight who is mates with my younger brother. He got transfered up here from hobart (he works for mcdonalds). He is 18, moved up here by himself met some people got a nice place to rent. Got another job at dominos as a shift manager and he juggles the two jobs. He bought a vt ss from auctions for 5k and spent another 8k painting it and doing it up to the point that it shits on a standard one he could have bought for more than he spent. Really good to see. I must admit, I am pretty succesful and Im 25. However at 18 I was a very loose young man in all respects and wasnt anywhere close to where this young bloke is. Ill say one thing, young people stay away from drugs and binge drinking. It seems like a hell of a lot of fun but it catches up with you. Going to raves and dropping e's and staying out all night has consequences years later and If it wasnt for the fact I witnessed a really good mate loose his sanity to drugs it could have been me. You really see the picture when your a bit older. Family, Self respect, Morals, Integrity are the most important things in life, and drugs and alcohol are what strips them from your list of prioritys if you get carried away. Havnt written this for sympathy as I am quite succesful now and I have all of the things that I have listed above now. I just thought I would voice it because it might detour a few of you young ones reading it. At the end of the day you would do anything for your kids that would be benificial. I guess it is on a case by case basis. If the maturity is there well f**k it buy them a car. If it is not and you think they would destroy it, make them pay for it and there is a lot less chance they will kill themselves as they value the car because they sent themselves broke paying for it.
