  3. ive just finished replacing my plugs with bosch fr8 dcx with a 1.1 gap. The car is detonating all over the shop. runs really smooth under boost. But if you put foot in, it just starts going put put put and hesiitating. weird as it runs really smooth apart from that. Help?! I am over this car!
  4. dude sorry to barge into your thread but i just replaced my plugs with some bosch fr8 dcx with a 1.1 gap in my 33 gtst. Car is detonating like all f**k! Do you know if they are the wrong plug/gap?
  5. hahahh. oh ok. Hey i just got done replacing spark plugs. Im fairly sure they are the wrong ones unless the computer needs to adjust to them, im not sure. They are bosch fr8dcx with a 1.1 gap. Are they the wrong ones? the guy who i bought them off looked in the book. Unless he has given me gtr ones? Car is detonating if i even try to put the boot in now.
  6. Before you had the pfc, did it still feel quicker? Me and him had a little bit of a highway entrance tussle when i had my old motor. I only had the pod, and 3.25 inch catback exhaust then. He completely smashed me with his stock 98 wrx. Im guessing part of the reason is because he hasnt got a speed cut, so im guessing a fuel cut is absent aswell. Have to admit Ive never liked my car that much since then. So maybye a better question to ask you guys is, Give me an example of how you dominated over a rex in your 33 gtst? Might help me learn to love my car again! lol

  9. That was a fair while ago that I lost my lic. The car has a front mount, pod, cat-back 3.25 inch exhaust, exedy brass button clutch, suspension work. It is just not generating any power above 5000rpm. Got a sloppy idle. I just had an exhaust leak fixed and it runs a bit better but. Its starting to piss me off. My mates rex is starting to look tempting unless i can fix this f**king thing.
  10. hey all, Begining to tire of my 94gtst's continues problems and I am considering selling it. My mate has a 98 model wrx which is pretty standard apart from a brass button clutch, full exhaust and stereo. Just a few minor things like aftermarket suspension, 18 inch simmons blah blah. The question I have is how do they compare to a r33 skyline? Ive been in it and to be honest it seems quicker than my car. How reliable are they engine wise? Iknow that the gearboxes etc are not that strong. Blown a motor in my 94, replaced that. Lost my lic in it a while back. Now im having electrical problems. Any thoughts? Anyone jumped the fence and can comment from a owners point of veiw? thanks
  11. not bad not bad. Are they are lighter/heavier car then say a 32 or 33? Should get a vh and put a 'and justice for all sticker' on the back window. Play pantera really load drive really recklessly and yell out the window and death stare people at the lights. And have countless amounts of empty beer bottles on the floor and f**k it might as well drive pissed aswell! hahahhaahaha

  13. coil packs? never mentioned them they are ok. spark plugs ok aswell.
  14. also car has front mount and funny enough it actually runs worse when the weather is colder even when car is warmed up which is something i have never experienced with a turbo car
  15. oh ok man, would that expain the power flatening out and hessitating at 500rpm especially in 3rd gear? I checked the fuel pump and thats ok. I thought maybye also the injectors might need a clean? cheers

  17. hey all, Recently got my33 gtst back from a new motor being put in. Car had exhaust leaks and vacum leaks but i got them fixed and the car now boosts up properley but seems to flaten out and die at 5000rpm. especially in third gear. Now a new problem is accuring. It had a fluctuating idle between 800rpm and 1100rpm for the last couple of weeks, but now i noticed it sits on 1200rpm sometimes even 1500rpm!? wtf. This car is pissing me off! Electrical? Someone help please!

  21. by the way fellas dont ignore the obvious. Test your fuel pump pressure and your injectors. I tested my pump thats ok so im narrowing it down to dirty injectors as the coils and plugs are ok. but you will get that lumpy cam sound and irregular idle follwed by that clicking towards the front of your head which is your acc controller trying to adjust to suit.
  22. or what wldcrd said, cause the first one gets trashed anyway. We all say we wont wreck it but im yet to see anyone not. Little bro wanted to copy me and get a 33 for his first car but wisely listioned to me and got a laser. That laser was sold to the wreckers a few months back for $100!
  23. id say neither. Go for a cefiro. Ive seen some dirt cheap ones around(2-3k rolling shells). Drop in a sr20 and your away!
