  1. like we said, the initial d cartoon also shows the AE86 beating a myraid of other cars. to name a few: GTR32, RX7 FC and FD3s, Mitsubishi Evo 4 and 5 and Toyota MR2 twin turbo. you show me one actual AE86 that can do that on the road. the cartoon was made by AE86 lovers, which is why that car will win any race. they also focussed on drifting becos it's very popular in Japan. if drift was faster, why should we learn braking markers and proper corner entry, etc? a little common sense: ur tires oni grip in one direction and drifting forces your tire against their natural rotation. with conflicting forces at work, how can u be faster?
  2. red900...i suppose u're rite in that instance, but i have seen videos with pistons 1,3,4,6 all at tdc together, specifically, a supra's six. so if u say 1 is on compression n 6 is on exhaust, i assume that 3 and 4 would be the same? so basically, you get 2 cylinders on compression n 2 on exhaust am i right?? i'm confused...
  3. yea if u had to go for a type r, i'd say go for the civic. although it lacks the 200cc the integra has, the civic type r is actually faster due to its weight. after that pop a B18 into it and you'd be smiling. wun be any competition for a turbo, but mighty powerful for an N.A.
  4. isn't it firing at 1,3,4,6 then 2,5??
  5. i was told that if the flywheel shatters at high revs, fragments could possibly fly through the cabin and injure u...dunno if that's an exaggeration tho...but considering the rotation speed of that piece of metal, it could be possible
  6. i think they'd just machine the whole thing wouldn't they?? yes they make the rpm rise a bit faster, but i dunno how well they'd hold up...how bout getting a new one?
  7. how did u find that out?? i wanna know when mine was built
  8. i'm in indooroopilly. u can add me to icq if u want, then we can meet up easier.
  9. they do street tunes and they dun just go by how the car feels. they actually know what they're doing, otherwise they'd be out of business won't they?
  10. exactly...it's not often u sit above 8000rpm rite?? and they seem to hold the 1300hp in the HKS skyline, not sure how often they change it, but i think it would hold ur hp n not break a sweat.
  11. bryan...change the fluids i suppose...probably check out hoses for leaks?? atomicbomberman...i'm sorry i dun but i live in indooroo...
  12. mine crunches in 3rd and 4th when i drive it hard. might be synchros getting lazy, but i've heard it's a common problem in the 33s.
  13. had the cam gears on for about 2000ks?? i read somewhere they wear out too, but i hope they wun...they seem to be able to hold 1300hp in the HKS drag car so i hope they'd be of a relatively strong build. apparently, they're not mass produced like other makes. they wait for enough orders before they start up the machine, so they're always pretty new. and slip...it does feel bulletproof, but takes a hell long time to master
  14. atomicbomberman...do u live in the west??
  15. i dun think that's a std clutch. taka kaira calls it a rocket clutch. dunno wat u'd or i'd call it tho. i may be wrong, but i dun think there's much life in that clutch anymore. the friction bits are almost gone, are u experiencing clutch slip? is there a burning smell when u drive around?
  16. menios i'm sorry if i sounded aggressive, that wasn't my intention. and yes that is a very simple explanation.
  17. my mechanic told me GTRs come like that. he said the camber settings when adjusted to their mildest would still be too aggressive for road use. to cure this either get adjustable camber kits or keep changing tyres regularly like me and enjoy the camber in corners. i also get a clunking noise. not too sure what it is tho...have heard it might be hicas or LSD, but no one seems able to confirm this.
  18. did it have a plate?? when i saw it there wasn't a plate on it at all...i was thinking the queen or someone big finally bought a skyline....

    New guy...

go to www.supercars.net for wallpapers. they've got heaps of cars there, plus skylines. engine code for GTR is rb26dett, which stands for Race Bred 2.6 litres Double overhead camshafts, Electronic fuel injection Twin Turbo. not sure what SR stands for, but the ending bit's the same. cept it's not twin turbo.
  21. ok here goes...bought my car last year...slip was there... got the guy to put in tint, cd player. put in the immobiliser myself after i got the car. then i had a custom straight through catback exhaust put in and hks air filter kit. then had the car lowered on king springs and while it was in the garage, had the mechanic hack into the ecu to reprogram fuel maps. that was last year. this year, i put in hks front pipes, hks cam gears, hks twin plate clutch, apexi power fc, apexi avc-r and nismo fuel regulator. if anyone wants to get a twin, don't ever get the hks one. ask slip and abu53. they noe how it behaves. next on the list (finances pending), would be trust oil sump, trust oil pump, bigger turbos, probably hks 2530, hks step 2 camshafts + jun titanium valve springs and retainers, 750cc injectors and of cos, bigger fuel pump and afms. if u guys pray for the global economy to pick up so my cash flow is better and i can get my stuff, i'd bring u for a ride...
  22. menios i'm not debating the fact that u know how to do a pendulum swing. the videos i was referring to are jap videos, homemade, amateur ones where there is no commentary. i was saying you can hear the clutch kick technique being applied. i was not referring exactly to techniques applied by rally drivers as the japs do it on the track. i have never thought the car handles the same on road and dirt. i know of the lack of traction on dirt surfaces. i am unclear about your remark on constant 4wd. i understand understeer is common if u lack a certain enthusiasm on the throttle. i am also unclear about what you are describing in your pendulum swing situation. if ur referring to rally driving, y would u be swinging around like that instead of trying to maintain as much traction as you could? if ur doing it for show, why would you want to go that fast? and for the record, i have never seen track cars applying the pendulum swing while in competition. i have, however, been advised by an asian pacific racer of the left leg braking technique to assist turn in, not to drift. just like u, i have been taught track techniques by actual racers, however, i'm not saying i'm an authority on the subject, just wanted to pass on what i know and understand.
  23. they're not cheap. but they dun muck around either. they know what they're doing becos they're experienced. have seen heaps of skylines in there. me included.
  24. if i remember correctly, endless have pads which work from 0-700 so if you go on the net n have a look around, you could probably get those. great pads, but hell expensive for sumthing u grind up everyday.
