  1. Few better photos of the V36
  2. I had the same problem too (and I'm usually really good with stuff like that), I actually figured it out from flicking through the manual in Japanese and just copying the symbols from the book (under the Bluetooth section, the only part in English!) and looking for them on the screen to know which menu to go to! Thanks for the information too, David. It's useful to know these things, my battery on my key is also coming up as low, kind of afraid to touch it to be honest. I've taken the key out before but didn't notice how to take the battery out, is there something else you need to do? Would of thought it'd be easy, noticed nothing is with this car, way too advanced.

    Gran Turismo 5

    Also paid $77.97 at Big W Southland, last one they had left on the shelf so was happy to get it. Couldn't go earlier in the morning like I planned so very happy I found a copy, would have been very angry if I didn't get a copy today. I'm installing the game right now, taken about 30 mins so far. Was hoping to have a play before I go to work in another hour but looks like I'll have to play later tonight unfortunately! Lucky I'm a very patient person I already picked the first few cars I'm going to buy in the game, how sad is that?
  4. Yep, live in the south-east here (pretty close to Dandenong as well). Thing is I've only had the car for around 2 months now, so not sure if it's me you're seeing? Probably seeing me out towards Narre Warren/Berwick I take it? I'd rarely be in Dandy, unless I'm driving through!
  5. Wow I had no idea someone else had a black V36 in Victoria, thought I was the only one! Looks nice BTW. Agree with what you've said too, looked at a BMW 335 and laughed at the price, not worth it. It does handle better and is marginally quicker too, but not worth double the price tag IMO. Especially when you compare what they pay in the US for an Infiniti and BMW, which are only $3,000 apart, not the $30,000+ extra that you pay here. I test drove a V36 and my mind was made up immediately, even drove all the way from Melbourne to Sydney (and back) to get it. What does that tell you?

    Black R35 GTR driving down Westall Road then right onto Blackburn Road around 1pm today - I was in the blue VY Commodore wagon staring at you Cream/gold-ish coloured V35 4-door (around 1pm also) down Princes Highway near Wellington/North Road intersection heading towards City Yellow R34 GTT with LED tail-lights and had SAU stickers on Warrigal Road around 2:30pm at corner of South Road, nice example of a 34
  7. I've had a few people say the front looks like a Merc, and the side looks like a BMW 5 series... dunno about the back end though? Thanks for the comments guys, covered 1,800km in it already (drove it back from Sydney to Melbourne virtually non-stop), very impressed with the power and had a lot of positive comments about it from everyone who saw it, most had no idea what it was One thing I like about this Skyline is you don't get too many idiots wanting to race, one of the things I hate most about the R34.
  8. Hey guys Just a few pics of my new V36, picked it up about a month ago, only just got around to taking some decent photos
  9. Hey guys, just thought I'd share a couple photos of my 2007 V36 350GT (4 door), had it for around a month now. It's my new daily driver. Photos taken with iPhone, so not the best of quality.

    Hahahaha, I actually just wanted to get out of the right lane because there was someone following too close for my liking behind me and booted it to get out of the way, had no intention of racing. I had to stare at the car for a little before I did that though Seen you around Berwick before, last weekend (or may of been the week before) at the Shell servo bypassing the stupid traffic lights on High St/Clyde Rd. FYI, careful doing that, sometimes the coppers sit parked in the servo and target cars doing it (as you exit through the entry = illegal, been told by a copper before); just watch for them.

    H8TAX - if you're on here, nice R35 GT-R mate I was the one who pulled up next to you in the 2006 Maxima on the Monash about 15 mins ago. Glad you got the idea and let me listen to the sound of the exhaust

  13. Driving home Wednesday, and spot one of these in, of all places, Doveton... only had a couple minutes to spare and took these shots from the daily driver, went back again later but it was gone. Never seen one on the road in Victoria before, had NSW plates, hope to see it again and get a better look at it!

    Defected =/

    That's hilarious, seems to be the new thing, if you can't get a car for anything legitimate, then just pick on something trivial. I wonder if your friend got the same champion I got Yeah that's him, there's a pic of him online, if you're creative enough you can find it

    Defected =/

    Was this guy in Dandenong by any chance? I copped my 1st (and only) defect there, Snr Cons Dennis Fuh, there's a link on Gtroc.com.au about him defecting some guy outside his own shop, very similar to me. Apparently he is known around the area, kinda similar to Pettit from what I've been told from one of my mates who have also seen him around before... he goes hunting Jap cars specifically and actually told me he pulled me over because, and I quote; "people think this is the Fast and the Furious". Absolute wank, he broke three road rules and nearly stacked with one car to just get to me, and defected me for, get this, my hand brake "being over 7 clicks"! All three mechanics I saw laughed this off as rubbish and just something to write on the paperwork to make it look worse than it really is. You'll typically see him around Dandenong, Springvale or Clayton areas on weekends usually (he's a part of Springvale TMU) -- keep well away from this one if you can!
  16. Nah no black F430 anywhere, just the two used red one's and a brand new burgundy 575M
  17. Only way you know they're cops is by the two extra aerials that the VE SS Commodores have added on the rear window, refer this pic I took a few months back of one... Like you said though, full of toys inside, some things I reckon a standard car would be defected for
  18. There's actually two H2 stretch Hummer's, one black and the other white (which sits outside on display). And yes I agree that yellow Maserati is a bit, well, disappointing, I'd rather the Audi A4 2.0T behind it in this pic to be honest. Funnily enough, it was raining Friday when I took those pics, and what I found odd was seeing those two amazing cars sitting out in the rain. One wonder's if the Lambo out the front will cop a defect for its wing One guy (in customary suit) rocked up while I was leaving in a green Bentley and parked it outside, so I snapped this one just as I was going... I assumed that guy was the owner or something, the other guys inside seemed pretty cool to let me wander around, but this other guy wasn't one to mess with, I would say!
  19. I'm going to go past there again next week and ask if it's OK to publish their name online, if they say it's OK then I will publish it, otherwise I think you will know why I won't say so...
  20. Went to go get lunch today, and on the way I nearly had a collision with multiple cars after the sight of, yep you guessed it, a Ferrari and Lamborghini parked outside a factory. But on closer look, it was a 2 storage rooms chocka-block full of high-end cars! The guys at this place were nice enough to let a commoner like me go through the place, take a tour for my lunch break for over half an hour and drool over everything there. Here's some pics (sorry about the quality its my Nokia mobile) Have to say though, my favourite was the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 parked right in the back, all hidden, like it's some Commodore or something. BTW that's 2 Rolls Royce Phantoms... yes only two.
  21. The 'keep left unless overtaking' rule only applies to roads with multiple lanes and speed limits of 80km/h, so in a 70km/h zone you can sit in the right lane. Refer this document for the following quote: But I believe there is also a rule that states you should keep as far left as practical on any road. Maybe the police and/or government should make this law clearer and actually enforce it, because it really is a major problem on all roads. As to Victoria having bad drivers in general, I do agree, I've noticed it's got a lot to do with increasing congestion every single day on the roads, ridiculously overdone speed limits on streets and a combination of police just focusing on speeding drivers and not other dangerous habits like tail gating, road rage, blocking of intersections, people running red lights, dangerous overtaking, no indicating, etc. What gets my goat the most is speed limits being pulled down on roads like Dandenong Road, during 'school times' near Williams Road it becomes a 40km/h zone, how ridiculous. This is a 8-lane highway, what reason is there to bring the speed limit down from 70km/h during peak times? It only creates more gridlock and encourages more dangerous driving. Kids should know better than to run onto a major highway, and they should be taught that at a young age. But I must say, the most aggressive drivers I've ever met have been around south-east Queensland, specifically the Gold Coast area, I remember doing 80 in a 70 zone down the Gold Coast Highway to overtake another car and go back into the left, I slow back down to 70 and I was being overtaken by other cars like I was standing still... literally had over 5 cars overtake me in 15-20 seconds. Then some nutter decides this wasn't fast enough for him and used the bus lane to overtake the others down the left! Some really scary moments on the M1 up to Brisbane as well up there, tail gating and crazy speeding drivers too. Glad I only drove for a couple days up there.
  22. Well my mate actually done it for me, he worked on my car and put the plates there, I thought it looked OK and so I left it there. I've driven past numerous cops and been checked over before, never heard the one about the plates though. Besides, I dunno how many of you have Custom Mix number plates, but they only come in one standard size (372x132mm) and the cooler on is 600x300mm, so the plates literally block half the cooler. My car never had a SMIC in the first place. Also the cooler piping on the side of the car with the plates blocking it looks messy and the plates hide the mess. If these plates came in slimline like normal plates, I would get them, but alas, you can't. KIRAS, this cop just wanted to fine me for something, he virtually done a RWC on my car and spent 15 minutes with me and that was all he fined me for. But like I said, 3 demerit points for this is pathetic, maybe I should run a red light and get snapped by a camera doing it to prove my plates are visible?
  23. Sorry to dig up old threads guys... But I got done the other weekend about my side mounted plates. Long story short, I was pretty much 'suggested' to pay this fine by the cop issuing the fine (3 demerit points + $121) by him telling me that he was being 'lenient' on me by not giving me another fine for $185 (can't remember what he said it was for) and another 3 demerit points, which would of seen me lose my license. The more I think about it, and having read this thread/the legal documents attached, I shouldn't have to take this. Wondering how Daz went with this? Just PM'd him waiting for an answer, anyone else been through this? I don't mind paying the fine, but the demerit points seem a little unfair considering, if anything, I'm trying to make the plates stand out MORE and not less!
  24. Drive it to work sometimes, but rarely anymore. I'd have to say one of the better one's I have seen are: ITWRXU (blue 1998? WRX) - very clever INV3ST (black 2006 Merc CLS500) - pure class RUN4IT (black 1990 Lambo) - absolute horn, know the guy who owns it, comes into work sometimes and parks it on Warrigal Rd MB3NZ (blue 1999? Merc) - simple but hot MURC1E (orange 2004? Lambo Murcielago) - what an absolute weapon this is SLCLAS (think it was a black 2004~ Merc CLK)
