  1. anyone heard about how some guy that owns a Corolla and has the plates "CROWN7", and Crown Casino offered him something like $300K for the plates? naturally, they declined... how plates can be worth more than the car they're on is beyond me. I feel like stealing this guy's plates, selling it and buying a R34 GTR it's just a piece of metal with 6 letters & numbers on it, how is it worth so much? it's crazy
  2. it's funny how everyone mentions how they were smiling when they bought their first Skyline. I was exactly the same a couple months ago. I drove in my R34, the first Skyline I've been in, and just loved it. They interior is awesome, it flies... what else do you need? coming from a Ford Telstar it was hardly as though it woulda been worse than that
  3. got the tiptronic here too, no complaints at all paying another $5-10k for manual isn't really that viable for people like me who just love to drive the thing on the road and not for racing am I the only one here who bought a Skyline because it's simply an awesome car to drive and don't want to race it? :)
  4. just bumping this for ya mid any news?? best of luck, I always keep my eye on other 'liners i work between Moorabbin and live near Dandy so I'll keep my eyes open
  5. funny, we spilled some hydrocloric acid on the concrete of my work today and it reminded me of this thread it doesn't eat through the concrete, it does bubble for a while after being spilled, it will clean the concrete good but will stain it! CLR is actually really good, acetone doesn't do much.
  6. out of curiosity, how much is a frequency convertor? and how do you fit one?
  7. I live on an enclosed COURT that's just over 100m long it's a 40 zone because it's bounded by a school. if you did anything more than 40 on my street then you'd be asking for trouble in the first place. how the hell can they enforce the speed limit on a 100m long court anyway? will a cop sit up the end with a radar gun?
  8. mine has the same marks, i've got a Carozzaria CD player so I assume it was the monitor too, doubt it's guages as it's N/A anyway to get rid of the marks?
  9. you must be f**king kidding me, lol why would you waste your time and money on doing that? it's so bad I'm starting to think it must be a joke or something.
  10. had to laugh at how public transport fares increased by over 350% in one of the graphs, what else would you expect from a oil company? all I know is that when I first started driving, petrol was around 70-80c a litre, now it's somewhere between $1.3-1.4, this over 4 years. I somehow doubt public transport prices increased by something near 80% in under 4 years. shows how you can manipulate any statistic to your advantage. if this is designed to make me happy about paying $1.4 a litre, then it didn't work.
  11. shanef; very nice, the paintwork is awesome! congrats mind me asking how much that set you back? whats been modified? especially curious about the condition of the tyres
  12. I dunno, most places I went to in Melbourne were selling manuals over autos. Just check out carpoint.com.au and carsales.com.au, compare the number of auto and manual Skylines available. I was sus at first about the number of km, but yeah, to be honest there's no real way to tell even with log books/history. But irrespective of that, I still would of paid the same amount even if it had 70,000km on it so I'm happy with it. the interior is in immaculate condition so it doesn't seem so unrealistic. I've also seen a few '96 R33 skylines with around 40,000km. if only there was a definate way to tell mine also has a Pioneer deck RRP $1,500, 18'' alloy mags on it and brand new tyres RRP $170 each too.
  13. I think skyline's are one of very few cars, like ferraris, lambos etc, that look pretty good in whatever colour you get it in back on topic; so there's no way to know if the KM's are real or not? it's bloody scary when you have to just 'hope' the stats you're given are legit especially on an expensive, imported car
  14. hi reggin, I just got a '98 R34 N/A for $25,000 (but $4,000 less for trade-in of my old car = $21,000 owing), so yeah you're not far from getting what you want for $26,000. this car was originally priced at $27,000. Mine is semi-auto, 2dr coupe, dark blue, 25,300KM, perfect inside, runs great. only downside? no spoiler. you're lucky to be looking for a manual so you have so many more options than I did. Good luck, keep looking and take your time like I did.
  15. I was thinking about this myself just the other day... would it be possible to wind back the KM on a digital display odometer? I've asked a few people this and no-one seems to know for sure! anyone got any ideas?
  16. could anyone run this VIN for me please? ECR34003951 thanks in advance
