Thanks for the suggestion. I'll insulate the rub areas next time I work on my car. Took my car out for a weekend of track work and oil temps didn't get over 90C. One other thing I didn't mention is that I cut several holes in the splash guard behind the cooler as it's a large low pressure zone, so all the air that gets pushed in will be extracted as quickly.

R33 GTS-T sumitomo front calipers. Were working perfectly before I removed them from my car. $120 for the pair R33 GTR wheels. 17x9 +30. Near perfect condition with only slight rash one one wheel (maybe two wheels. I can't remember). Comes with near new Yokohama AD08s in 245/45/17. Cheapest I could find the tyres alone are a little over $1k fitted. $1500 See attached pics. If you don't like the prices, throw me a bone as the worst I can say is no. Pick up available in Melbourne. PM me if you're interested.

Finally hooked up all the lines. They're not neat, but it seems to work. I used to get temps of around 90-100C on the freeway and now it's around 70C. Street driving would hover around 90C, but now they're at about 60-65C. Will be taking it to track soon so will report back on oil temps then. Hopefully these give you an idea of where they go:

I feel for you cos it wasn't long ago that I came back to my car with the drivers window down, bonnet open, alarm cut out, and ignition barrel smashed. It might be cheaper to DIY than to pay your insurance excess. A new ignition barrel with set of matching locks cost me <$150 and sirens were purchased from Jaycar.

Curious to see the results. Will these be ready soon?

Makes sense. Thought it was for the tow cost and time spent in the police lot. Did you get any info on the guy? Was he a serial car thief?
-
Did they give you a break down of the $3500?

R33 Gtst Lsd Diff Options
dan.1337 replied to Matt.H's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
My mechanical is noisy. It makes the inside wheel skip and chatter on turns, and gives the car a good shake when cold. It's not a daily driver though so I don't mind it. -
R33 Gtst Lsd Diff Options
dan.1337 replied to Matt.H's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As above, most drift guys will likely run a 2 way over a 1.5 way. I bought my Kaaz 1.5 way diff centre second hand from Yahoo auctions Japan and had it shipped over through Jesse Streeter. I think the 2 way diffs were even less as there were more around than the 1.5 ways when I was looking. Cost me a bit less than $500 delivered. Had it refurb'd and reshimmed locally, then installed into my existing diff housing. Cost me around $1000 by the time it was in my car. Diff is super tight and haven't looked back! -
blind_elk gave me the ticket this year and I really enjoyed watching the first F1 weekend of the new season with new rules. Thanks again!

If you post a pic of your calipers someone should be able to tell you what they are -

I'm using DBA p/n dba4928s which is a 324x30mm on my Sumitomo GTS-T caliper with spacer. It's the standard GTR rotor: http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/dba-brake-rotor-set-front-dba-4000-series-slotted-dba4928s-nissan-skyline-r32-gtr-vspec-vspec-r33-gtr-r34-gtr-brembo-callipers-p-718.html -

Ordered mine through Garage7 with custom spring rates. Awesome service and communication from them. -
Sorry, haven't checked this thread in a while. I haven't had a chance to finish my oil cooler lines as I was posted interstate for the last 6 weeks. Not 100% sure where I'll run the lines as I'll need to get under to have another look as a refresher, but I don't think there were too many options from when I last checked Will get to it over the next couple of weeks though and post up results.

On the tram on my way to the GP today, I saw plenty of spots along St Kilda Rd around the Shrine. You can either take the tram from there or walk 2km to the track.

I don't think it's hard to defend a car from being stolen. Alarm, immobiliser, hidden kill switches, etc will prevent most from taking your car. What I'm concerned about is when they tow your whole car away and take all their sweet time to strip it.

^ A stat dec is a doc that is bound by law to say that what you are claiming is not full of shit. Whatever you write on it is punishable by law if you are found to be making a false statement, so an insurance company has to take it as truth. http://www.justice.vic.gov.au/home/justice+system/legal+assistance/statutory+declarations/ "Statutory declarations are used for many purposes, including: to verify insurance claims"

When do entries open for DECA?

I'm sorry to hear about this and hope you can have your car recovered. I can nearly feel your pain as I had my car attempted to be stolen two weeks ago, but something must have stopped them, either passing traffic or the immobiliser.

I had a toddler ask his mum "mum, what's that car?" Her response was "a fast one" -
^ Thanks for that. I mounted my oil cooler on the weekend. Will just need to find time to connect up all the lines and finish it off.
