  1. Toyo Proxes R1R 265/35x18 ($$ unknown - depends where you buy obviously) dry 10/10 wet 8/10 longevity-a lot better than i expected In 2wd w/ 500hp just starts to spin 2nd at high revs. 4wd launching is unbelievable. Extremely good in the wet, braking and acceleration wise. Dropped a few skids here and there and expected to cry when i saw them. Barely wearing - very surprised.
  2. Sounds a lot like what mine was doing, different setups, boost, etc.... for the $30 or whatever they cost try BCPR7ES (0.8). Can't really explain it myself, but it was running fine then started to miss... miss got worse and worse. Tried new BCPR6ES plugs... no help. The 7s sorted it.
  3. For what it's worth to whoever; I had a misfire issue which would start from ~4000rpm and cause issues anywhere from here on up, which is where the car starts to make decent boost. Car has splitfires & new coil pack wiring harness - runs Vipec management and makes 500rwhp. It was running BCPR6ES-11 (ie 1.1mm)... put a new set of the same plugs in. No help. Pulled the 'new' plugs and gapped to 0.8... changed misfire from big bangs and cracks under load to short fast pops. Had pondered and checked up on a lot of things, swapped igniters with a mate, was going to swap CAS, splitfires, loom, etc Today threw in a set of BCPR7ES plugs, gapped to 0.8... misfire instantly gone. Pulls hard from 4500-8500rpm in all gears, well... maybe not 8500 in 5th hahah but you get the idea. Happy as f**k now... back to dishing out bulk chop Hopefully that can help someone too.
  4. Ah righto thanks for the info. Because it's a 'finished' product from full-race, who as far as I can tell through my endless google-ing are a very reputable company, I'd like to think they're have it delivered ready to rock. We'll see.
  5. Link to turbo if it helps anyone... http://www.full-race.com/catalog/product_i..._id=1129{65}305 Also do same deal for 3076 which might interest a few folk.
  6. Hmm.. new question: Has anyone had any experience with, has any input on a twinscroll T4 1.06 GT3582R... Can get these from full-race easy enough, 'apparently' better low/mid range power AND top end power.... Seems a little too much like having cake and eating it, but the low/mid response part catches my eye.
  7. Thanks for the input guys. I was looking closely at some of the 'unknown' items I listed above.. They seem to have the potential to do exactly what I want, but so does everything when you're reading the marketing spiel. I think for now I'll probably go the GT3582R .82 seeing as I know exactly what they do on a RB26, from peoples experience and my mates car. The 3076 in 1.06 does tickle my fancy as well though. In the future once the car is ready for me to stop throwing huge amounts of money at it, I might (if the 35R isn't quite right for me) look in to a precision turbo, can't do any harm and may find something great... if not sell it i guess. Had a koyo rad let go on me today too.... more $$$ hahahaha. Love money pits
  8. Hello. I'm in the throws of building up a R32 GTR for street use, and hopefully a few track days when I get the chance. I've bought and paid for the majority of my 'supporting mods' and while slowly buying up all of that good stuff i've been researching the dreaded question of turbo choice. If someone says use the search button, feel free to come see me for a slapping, I've worn the search button out - all I've done now is added more options into the equation haha. I will be looking to net somewhere in the 420-500rwhp mark. I have a couple of mates running GT35R/3582/whatever else you call them turbos in .82 rears on RB26s. Once is making a bit over 500rwhp and the other is sitting on 460 or 470rwhp. The only difference setup wise that I'm aware of is the step 2 HKS cams in the 500+ hp car. Other than that everything is very very similar. I've pretty much copied their setups, ecu, manifold, injectors, blah blah.... but I'm thinking I want a bit more response and I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of top end power for it. Options floating around in my rather empty head so far are: Garret 3076 .82 Garret 3082 .82 Garret 3582 .63 or .82 Precision 5557 .82 Precision 6262 .63 or .82 Holset HX35 | 35/40 | HX40 Turbonetics 60-1 fullsize .63 Turbonetics 62-1 fullsize .63 Of course T04Z and Nitto 3.2L kit would be nice, but I'm trying to keep things 'reasonable' for now... Now that I'm swimming with ideas if anyone has any input, help, experiences that might help - I'd love to hear them. PS... won't be going twins, once that atrocity of a twin turbo system comes off it stays off
  9. I did this with a friend on his R32.. pretty easy job. Used a cheap guage though and the fittings were shit..
  10. Just put tap water in it like the gemini of old haha.. or run it with a radiator hose off, if the mighty Isuzu can do it so can the RB20
  11. Are these guys in WA too? Im with Just Car... full cover was a little over $1K for me at 19 with minimal mods on a 2.5lt TT Supra. 3rd party with fire/theft cover was around $600, but insured at $10k and getting stolen they only pay out $5k!!!
  12. I reckon matte black would look awesome on some cars... something with no shine at all. Would it still have a clear coat over it? That would give some shine i think? But without it the car may be a harder to clean than a porn stars cock after some badly timed anal
  13. My 1st car came after riding a motorbike for around a year... in the form of a 1984 Gemini!! That thing was mad in the wet haha, taught me a hell of a lot about sliding a car around. With its 12KW Isuzu motor it must have been the shagged tires that made it err dare i say 'driftable' haha. My 1st turbo car was (still is, not for too much longer maybe) a MkIII Supra. Thankfully i got the 1jz 2.5lt TT motor and not a 7M 3lt. I got it with a few mods here and there and it goes like a shower of shit. Handles well with A/M suspension but is forgiving enough when you push it too hard... as i did quite a few times when i was new to it I'd say some panel damage is pretty likely with a 1st car (luckily none for me so far) something that is common and cheap would be ideal (Silvia/180, R32, etc).. /My $3.95 inc.
