yea the stock turbo runs out just after 5500rpm there abouts
-
if your choices are Greddy or Hybrid Personaly I would go the Greddy they are such a nice unit fit perfectly, and some with very complete instructions

With my standard ecu, mine hits the limite at 8300 but my RSM says 7600ish at the time dont hold it long enough to write it down

Well i have been a bit busy lately, but some progress has been made. I spent a saturday wiring in the new Adaptronic ECU, also spent some time on the dyno doing up a map for it running the standard RB20DET, so thats all running now. New turbo setup is on I took the advice of a few people sayign the GT2876R wouldnt be large enough and now gone for a highmount Garrett GT3076R, running and external TiAL wastegate, Along with mounting all that up also had to move the Power steering reserve, and rerun the oil lines for that. I took my time making this dump pipe, got my workshop to Tig it all up for me to match up with the Trust Cat back system. Also filled new Iridium plugs and Spitfire coils for the tune and testing. I have attached some pics, i got a few pm's asking for a pic of the car all this is being done too, I am currently tossing up changing the wheels or keeping these ones, main reason for getting new ones are the rear footprint is 265x18 and they don't quite fit inside the guards. For those thinking of buying a EBAY 38mm wastegate, please don't, i bought one for the hell of it to see what their quality was like and test it out, as i already had a TiAL 38mm sitting in its box waiting for me. -Some of their features include, incorrect seal not closing all the way -Spring not strong enough causing the valve to bounce at idle not cool -Rough finish Cheers guys will try keep the thread updated bit more regular. Cameron

Well i would turf the rear mufler, change the cat to a 3inch highflow as that one looks 2.5" and yes as everyone has said definetly a dump pipe and maybe new front pipe. But yes always with doing Exhaust mods be very weary of the noise level it puts out.

As a rb20 owner myself, and having worked my way through my fair share of mods i have found that sometimes the simplest things make more improvment than you would think. From stock I added: Cheap chinese t04e highmount manifold 12psi Cheap FMIC about $1100 all up Made 170kw or just under 230hp From there i added: BOSCH 040 fuel pump GTR injectors Apexi AVCR 14.7psi (1 bar) Full turbo back exhaust custom front pipe and dump pipe and trust stainless exhaust Highflow cat Garrett GT2876R Low mount manifold Microtech LT12S About $5500 all up I then dynod it at 228kw or 306hp But now i have taken sort of a weird step some might say and buying a rb24 comprised of a rb20, using rb26 crank and rods Some of its goodies are: Garrett GT3076R Stainless highmount manifold Custom Dump pipe Adaptronic ECU SARD 650cc injectors JUN 272 cams HKS cam gears Forged Eagle H-Beam rods Custom ROSS pistons TRUST 1.5mm headgasket Ported and polished head Custom made and designed intake plenum HKS oilcooler HKS tripple plate clutch ACL race series bearings Around the $10,000 mark so far Looking for 500hp plus on 25psi So its all about what your goal is and how much money you want to spend. Its best to start with the small things and you will picup and learn what aspects make more difference thanothers and sometimes the really expensive items make less of a difference than the cheaper ones.

More Horsepower In 2nd Than 3rd Wtf!
murrayis replied to Daboss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi, As far as i know the G-techs measure the amount of pull aka g's, therefore in second gear it should appear slighty higher as its a shortrer ratio therefore giving it more pull as the gear is shorter and doesnt take as long to get through, But third is longer and takes a tad longer to go through the entire gear. The last g-tech i had was useless, bought it just to compare, it told me i had 253HP in 3rd, but when i chucked it on the dyno was just over 300hp. Best bet is to take your car to your local dyno shop and get a couple of power runs. -
nice work there mate, looks like should perform nicely. nice job on the welding also

Good Workshop To Change Clutch At South Brissy
murrayis replied to Black Ninja's topic in Queensland
Give Brad at G&A mechanical a call hes in sumner park i get all the work done on my 32 done with him, and never had a problem. He put a HKS tripple plate into mine. Cheers -
you should be able to run 1 AFM shouldnt you if you splice the wires together so the same signal goes down both line, or will that tell the ecu that there is twice the amount of air than there actualy is?

Removing Harmonic Balancer Out Of Car - Will This Be Ok?
murrayis replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi CEF11E, This is how i have done it before, and it doesnt damage the crank thats why you need to use wood as its softer than the crank so wont damage it. I used a 3 foot breaker bar when i undid mine and it stil ltook alot of effort, and even then i needed to use a gear puller to remove it from the crank shaft. hope this helps you cheers -
Hi Mate, I use and recommend Brad from G&A mechanical in Sumner park, hes actualy building a RB30DET at the moment expected to be running today, you can see his details in my SIG. Cheers

I would recommend Plasma, Better colour, solid black not a washed out black around the edges, also the Plasma tv's have a much higher contrast ration of 10000:1 to 15000:1 But if you want a LCD i would go for any of the new XD Samsung tv's

I have a ADR approved fibre glass bonnet, I got mine from DMD there alot heavier than standard bonnets the bonnet itself wieghs 15- 20 kg's. But having it ADR approved has saved me a few times with the police, just have to keep the paperwork in the car at all time that relates to that particular bonnet

Car looks awsome now Brenton, good to see the wing gone love the new wheels
-

-
Firstly Welcome Mate! I must admit i am a huge fan of that kit, nice work on the car Good to see SAU is getting worldwide attention
-
Very very tru

Good thing with this manifold is its 3mm thick walls, but nay steel will crack if heated then chilled quickly with preasure on it
-
Yea i will be heat wrapping the dump pipe, and most likely the manifold, also the oil return i was going to wrap in something to keep it safe. last thing i want is a fire lol The oil return line i have says its flame resistant lol but yea i will look into getting a steel braided teflon one On a good note, rings cleared customs last night, after sitting there for 2 days but of thought they where some sort of hardcore substance
-
Yea as above i would say between 190 - 210kw

Just a quick update. Well Finally for ROSS pistons in the USA to organise my piston rings form Total Seal in Calafornia, They where posted monday, so hoping they will be here begining of next week. Also i took the adivice of a few people and sold my Garrett 2876R setup, and today I received my new Garret GT30r, and also along with my new highmount manifold. Just awaiting a few missing parts out of my oil & water line kit from GCG to arrive hopefully tomorrow and the turbo will be bolted upto the car So far its coming along pretty smooth just a couple of hickups along the way but they where expected Cheers Cameron
