  1. Can you see anything stamped into them? almost look like gtr cams with that much of a drop off Also there very neat for stocko ones maybe aftermarket
  2. Hey guys, Just got the pics of the block after coming back from being machined out to 83mm Bore Walls are still pretty thick so there doesnt look like any worries there. We are waiting for the Eagle rods to come back from being bushed to suit the 20mm pin, once they come back we can mock it up and check the compression, Most likely we will have to send the clock away again to be decked. I have been also looking at paulr33 powerfc mod to use as the ecu for the build. Cheers Cameron
  3. Yes the adaptronic do look like a pretty dam good ecu for its small price tag, I am also looking at getting a Garrett GT3040R rated at 650hp. The cars main use... hmm i havent driven it since Mid December lol so pretty much just once a week driving, odd car show maybe the odd dyno comp
  4. If i get a chance tomorrow i will go get some pics of the block there looks like there heaps of meat on the walls
  5. I'm nopt sure they where part of a package deal, because the dude building had them already from a previous deal which fell through, same with a couple of the other items
  6. Very intereting, the turbo is this one, maybe somsone with more nderstanding could translate for the rest of us Garrett GT2876R As for lag on a RB20, i dont know yet only just finished the install, and been flat out at work so havn't finished making the dump pipe as of yet, one more section to go. But i will let you know when i drive it, i previously had a cheapy highmount t04e on there and came on full boost 16psi at 5100rpm
  7. lol Ryan mines already got a .86 rear housing on it An update: I have finished all the pipework for the new turbo setup, inc water and oil lines see pics below
  8. lol i know i know.. i am open to donations
  9. Yea i know the turbo is going to be a problem, but that can always be changed down the road where i dont want to and my workshop doesnt wanted to have to pull the engine apart to change things so thats the main focus to start with. As for the Powerfc, its still a possibility, i have read paulr33's guide of using a rb26 unit on a rb20/24 so we will see, Also looking for coils, eigther spitfire or toyota smart coils or another make, not sure as yet. ATM my rb20 has 235rwhp on 12psi, my target is 400hp but engine should be good for a fair bit more. Thanks for your comments guys keep them comming
  10. Currently for the head we are looking at using 1mm oversize valves if not a lil larger, heads going to be totaly ported etc to suit the other mods. A local workshop in brisbane is building it for me, no real quotes as yet, its all been worked out between the shop and I. We are looking for 450 - 500 rwhp but I know the turbo will be the limiting factor in the equation.
  11. After reading quiete a few threads on the Internet about stroking a rb20 to make a rb24, I decided what the hell and embarked on building one for my 32. I thought i might post up here whats going on and any problems we will run into during the build for anyone else whos been thinking of undertaking this project. I have most the parts gathered up now with only a couple to come. When i get some pics i will post them up and keep this thread updated as new items are added &/or removed. Current Part's: -Eagle H-beam Rods -ARP 2000 Rod Bolts -Ross Forged Pistons 83mm Bore -ACL race bearings -RB26 Standard crank -Tomie 1.8mm Head Gasket 83mm Bore -ARP Head studs -HKS 264 Cam shafts -HKS Adjustable Cam Gears -SARD 650cc Injectors -Greddy Oil Cooler -GTR Intercooler 600x100x305 -Garrett GT2876R -Stainless Low mount manifold -Custom Dump & front pipe Parts to come: -ECU -Fuel Rail -Plennum To current date we have stipped down my spare engine, had it sent out to Bryants Engineering in Brisbane to be bored and honed to suit 83mm bore and acid bathed and the Eagle rods are being re-bushed to match the ROSS pistons. I am still trying to find/decide on which ecu to go for, i am thinking of giving Adaptronic a try i have heard many good things about them and what features they have for there price. If anyone knows a store who sells and stocks a aftermarket fuel rail for the rb20 please let me know. I am still deciding to go with a off the shelf plennum or getting one made. Any feedback would be very much welcomed & coments appreciated and i know i will get alot of why not build a rb25 or 26, but i wanted something different. Cheers Cameron
  12. aight cool, umm whats the best way to lower the compression? head gasket? or change the pistons to det ones?
  13. I contacted him about that, he said its been sitting in a shop with alot of fibreglass and bug dust. Its now not in the shop, and at his shed he jsut hasnt bothers to clean it all off.
  14. Hey guys, Found this on ebay and was thinking of bidding on it; http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...p;rd=1&rd=1 I was thinking of turboing it to put in my r32 gtst, is it worth it? or would it be too much of a hassel in the long run? Auction ends tonight so need people opinions cheers Cameron
  15. I'm having the exact same problem and OP stated in my 32, pops and farts once its warm, sounds the same as hitting fuel cut. Changed plaugs checked all the gapping, changed ignition pack, but still the same problem
  16. What do you guys think of Adaptronic ECU's ?
  17. yea cars goign to the shop in the morning thanks for your help
  18. aight cheers lol so i really shouldnt of taken it to othe drag strip then and run 1.1bar through it would explain it not wanting to idle
  19. what should the timing be?
  20. Hey, My car recently wouldnt start so i investigated the poblem and found the CAS had come loose and moved all the way to the left, so i repositioned it around the center, but unsure where exactly it should be. How do i put it in the ocrrect spot? because atm it pops and farts when your nto on the loud pedal sounds like its missing as well cheers in advance Cameron
  21. Anyone?? i need these pretty soon
  22. i am chasing some GTR injectors and resistor pack for a rb20, preferably cleaned and flowed so the condition is known I'm in brisbane but will pay postage cheers
  23. Put it this was the base map that microtech sends with the ecu for the rb20det is for the rb25det, all the difference is in the plug and play adapter and yes of course would have to fiddle with the tune as you would with any ecu swpapping between engine types, you might find it wouldrun without any problem then again you just don't know
  24. Price drop $1300 - Come on guys i need this gone ASAP all decent offers considered
