  1. previous cas had a 24+1 disc in it and i see aem do a disc for the rb25 but dont know if it would suite the rb20 cas body
  2. honestly i have no idea...rb20det? the original had a black circle in the mide, i think its a mitsu?
  3. So A little update, I've needed to purchase new Rods and Pistons. Rods have arrived and pistons should be leaving the USA today fingers crossed. I'm still to track down a CAS and knock sensors but after that we should be good to go full steam to the finish line.
  4. Not 1 less - No Oil support ring what so ever.... Had the top and bottom ring and the expander
  5. So I put a call in the the engineering shop to see what they had found so far. They've done a vacuum test of the head and found 8 of the valve aren't sealing correctly and also that there is a oil support ring missing from each piston so there is a .8mm play in the oil rings and they would have never put outward pressure on the bore to bed in. Waiting on a call back to make sure the pistons can be re-used then i'll be up nice and early tomorrow on the phone to Ross Racing Pistons to order a new set of rings and oil support rails.
  6. Sorry Guys - I did try reply to as many people as I could - Missed a few. Sale is on hold for the moment - Waiting to hear back about rebuilding and not parting out and its taking longer than expected.

  8. So Day 1 Complete & the Block had been stripped in record time this evening. Next Step to arrange for pickup and off for her measurements to be taken.
  9. Now I just need to work out which pistons to use, I've been looking at various brands and using either CA18DET / 4AGE / Honda B16 pistons just trying to find the right combination or Bore. Compression Height & Pin size
  10. lol Roy! Engine is being stripped this afternoon and then will be measured and blueprinted to see which pistons are required and then the final rebuild will commence!

  12. lol Yea alot of other things have been going on so plenty to fill the mind. Currently looking for a set of pistons - I think i'll rebuild as the time it'll take to sell all the parts will drag this into next year.
  13. yea but who do you trust to do the machine work....everyone gives your a different answer
  14. yea i want to know the CR and measured and get recommendations on why the piston skirts have worn so much in such a short period and then recommend a piston. the last two builds didnt last more than a few hours on the syno and these people knew what they were doing.... if i can get away with it id love to complete it and use ca18 pistons but i dont know if they will do the job.
  15. yea the pistins are the easy part im struggling to find someone who knows what they are doing and willing to do aomething different.

  22. Roy, Yea you are correct unfortunately, Few items missing. I couldn't do that to you but the offer is very much appreciated as I know you've had them put aside for some time! I wasn't wanting to go to 83mm pistons because i'd want to sleeve the block for a little more safety however I see Tomei make a 83.5mm Head Gasket for a rb20 I've got to get time to strip the block all the way down and looking at the bore the pistons have been walking around a little so My guess is they are past their used by date. The bore currently is a little over 82mm
  23. Guys, I've read many threads on many forums regarding which piston is best. I'm looking to Replace my Custom Ross pistons with a off the shelf item for my Rb20 stroker. I'm looking at using a 83mm CA18DET piston but unsure which make to order. I'm comparing Supertech, CP & WISECO currently - All vary massively in price and availability. Researching Supertech I've not been able to find much positive or negative towards their piston but they are well known for their Engine accessories eg Valves etc to be excellent value and build. CP & WISECO have plenty on info but still welcome feedback Cheers Cameron
  24. Well Engine Arrived as safe as can be expected. Missing parts list now includes: 1 x HKS Intake Cam Gear Custom Modified CAS So If anyone knows anyone selling any of the above I'll need to replace everything that's missing.
