  1. cheers, i'll check that out
  2. After an S1 Type-M Front bar, preferably in melbourne, but anywhere's fine. PM me if you've got it!
  3. Has having larger wheels fitted thrown out your speedo by much? i'm going from the stock 15/16's to 17 soon, will i need my speedo recalibrated?
  4. If it's off a GTT then of course it'll be louder, the exhaust wheel in the turbo muffles the engine somewhat, so a less muffle-etic (i doubt that's a word but meh) muffler can be used to lessen airflow restrictions. Put that into an NA system and it's gonna be much noisier becuase you don't have that impeller wheel to mute your engine, and a less substantial muffler too. I went through the same thing when i accidently bought a turbo-spec stainless job, the noise was unbearable until i learnt how to control it.
  5. and the award for stupidest mod goes to.....
  6. Is there an easy way to get my parcelshelf out, or do i need to remove the entire rear seat?
  7. Can the fuel system handle having the ethanol in the lines though?
  8. Some people are gonna shoot me for this (and to you, go to hell) but do you really need a turbo? - from the sounds of it you just want a skyline. I was the same when i was debating buying mine, and in the end i had to question how often i could actually LEGALLY use a 200kw + car, so i went for the NA. Look at the benefits - cheaper insurance, less maintenence, they look exactly the same, plus the seats are comfy and they stop and turn far better than the falcodore cargo barges that i'd learnt to drive in. You might find that the go behind a 25DE is enough of a step up from the hyundai anyway
  9. 400R mate, replica of the racing spec 33's released by Nismo. Unless it's a genuine 400R you're driving, but i don't think there's any of them in aus
  10. Not quite, before the new laws take affect the 120hrs is/was 'reccommended' - VicRoads or the Police can't penalise or punish you for not having it filled out or making stuff up. (I sat on a Roadsafe council for a few years, and lobbied against some of these changes)
  11. You'll have to bring the logbook they give you when you get your L's to your P's test. And it'd be a legal document, so there'd be penalties if you got caught fudging it.
  12. Yeah, but i'm happy with what i've got. Goes well, handles well, comfy seats. If i want another million kW i'll hook up some neons and get a no fear sticker. And Rhett, i'm with you. But maybe instead of banning stuff, make getting the appropriate licensing tougher so dickheads don't get it, and the ones that do know what they're doing.
  13. Having to buy a non-turbo? What's changed, under the old system all turbo skylines (except for a particular few years worth of R32) were on the banned list. Meh, i got my P's last year, so the new rules don't apply to me.
  14. i've got the same problem, in the meantime if it gets stuck down (mine randomly moved before i disconnected it) if you bash the motor with a wrench while someone lifts the window it'll go up.
  15. I don't know if it's NA or not, but Mavric's got a mint 33. That front bar is possibly the perfect 33 bar IMO

    Workshops

Do they know what they're doing? i'm not entirely sure what the problem is, so i'm hoping it something someone can find relatively easily

    Workshops

Can anyone recommend a decent workshop in inner East Melb or Clayton area? I need a checkup visit on my car and i refuse to take it to the moronic bandits at my local nissan dealer. (who seem to be under the assumption that RB = VL Commodore)
  18. Looking for driver's side window reg (possibly motor too). Preferably in Vic, but willing to pay shipping if price is right.
  19. how much do you want for just the driver's reg?
  20. Would anything need to be done differently for an NA? i'm due for my 10,000 now.
  21. They're pretty reliable cars, but just make sure you can afford to fix it when things do go wrong - most wreckers will charge a left testicle for even the smallest parts (try $320 for a power window motor and regulator). The only other things i'd advise to keep in mind are fuel and insurance, companies don't like turbo imports, and turbo imports don't like cheap 91 unleaded.
  22. Yeah, they do - catch is you've gotta be handy with a soldering iron, it's a DIY thing.
  23. Which bit's the regulator? is it the little black box that the switch wires plug into, or is it further inside the door? i thought it was the box, but when a mechanic friend looked at it, he said something further into the door was the reg, and that it had it's own motor which was stuffed.
