  1. So can someone tell me where to get a 3076 for $1600 ?
  2. Just curious, how much did they charge you ? I'm reading all this and not going to get anything till I know which is the right way to go. Lithium looks the goods so far, GT 3076 .82 rear. Is yours the one GCG want $2,600 for ?
  3. Have to sleep, got gym in the morning but will ask many questions to all about on road performance, especially Zilch as I thought the 3071 .82 would spool faster. 3076 with .64 and larger waste gate ?
  4. And thats the problem Dale, I don't want to spend 3,000 on a new setup and think I MAY get 250-260, I want to KNOW. Not close, that would upset me. Zilch seems to be on the money there but from what GCG have told me that turbo was $2,600. uuuuuum....no thanks. Morrie at Horsepowerinabox says his turbine housing is .70 so maybe that would be the best of both words. Trouble is, if you look at their site they have two housings, .63 & .70. Is he selling me the .63 and telling me it is a .70 ? If I go the 3076 my concern is the waste gate may cause boost creep, and frankly, if you pay attention to other sites there are far too many .63, .64 3076 combos with this problem. Look at Lithium. I really need to make the right decision.
  5. Ok. 60mm, uncropped, 2.75" inlet. This should be interesting. Simon-R32 I hope you go ahead. I 'm hoping the less inertia required to move the 71 vs 76 should improve coming on to boost. One thing I'm becoming increasingly aware of is how important it is to go no lower than .70, .73 in the turbine housing or the RB 25 will choke. now, is there any chance of someone finding a decent price or is HPIAB the best around.
  6. Definitely sounds the go. Surely going the bigger compressor will cure hot compressor air and the .82 housing should allow more timing for better response.
  7. Now, just which is the Real 3071 and yes, I will be going to Garrett as they are down the road almost. For the easiest install would the 2.75 be better or the 4" ? Realistically, what potential has this combo got ? Got all supporting mods so with .82 housing this should be ok for a "comfortable" 250-260 wouldn't it ?
  8. Can someone please tell me why the 3071 Garrett isn't made in the T3 .82 housing ? I have been watching with interest the adventures of Mafia, Cubes, Dale FZ, and Lithium so have come to the conclusion that Dales turbo is too small and at the end of it's compressor potential. Mafia I think may be on to a good thing as would Lithium and Cubes but Cubes doesn't really fit here as the 3ltr is very different in behavior to the 2.5 ltr. Lithium is closer to the money with his setup and I'm just not sure if the lag might be too much. BUT..... The 3071 in a t3 .82 would in my opinion be the ants pants. I spoke to Morrie at Horsepower in a Box and he has a brand new turbine casting which is rated at .70 that bolts straight onto my bell mouth dump so before I go ahead does anybody think that turbine ( the .70 ) would be better on the 3076 with anti-surge compressor or the 3071 ? Looking at 250-260 without beating the intake charge to death and risking intercooler heating up too much on track days. I can get three laps in before the heat in the cooler starts to cause the check light to come on in the top of 4th gear. No, I don't want to buy a HKS 2835 as the kit is too expensive. The VG 30 on my gcg hi-flow would get me the power and for price, you can't beat it, but time to bite the bullet and go bigger. The real reason is my car is faster than most and with the suspension changes is a pleasure to drive. I won't be selling it for some time. Besides, it would be worthless. So any ideas ?
  9. Use the search below. Type in catch can. Honestly, there is sooooo much information ?
  10. Good idea, alloy is good and some plates inside drilled with small holes then welded into place.
  11. They look good but does it have anything inside it to catch the oil mist ? But if space is the problem as with most Skylines then use it,
  12. The vg 30 is a very old turbo that has one redeeming feature, the turbine housing. I would pay $300 tops. Have an auctioneer in Japan looking for me so will try to get three or four. He says they go for 100-150.
  13. Just put a hot dog on it. Guaranteed to knock 5db off it. So simple.
  14. Need a vg 30 turbine housing with OP6 stamped on it or a R34 housing thats knackered. Reasonably priced, as $350 or more is way too much. If can't find one by the end of the month then will go GTRS.
  15. I'm considering this turbo or rebuilding my hi-flow. How much shaft play ? I don't want to have to rebuild it after I put it in. 240kw seems low, and a bit worried would have to screw 20lbs into it to get the numbers. Want 250kws. Very hard finding a VG 30 housing for a good price for my R33.
  16. One of the things I'm looking into is just replacing the plate to cushioned full face. The Just Jap is stiff under foot and simply has NO give in it at all. Shudders like a cat in the rain and when on a hill will scream and grind with people looking at me like my car is junk. Embarrassing. Who in Sydney could supply a new cushioned disc ?
  17. As I'm sick of my Just Jap non-cushioned ceramic clutch. Jim Berry says we can make a cushioned fibre with 1100 clamp with the GTR R32 clutch for my R33GTST. Sounds good as I'm sick of shuddering and grinding up the shop car park entry ramp or having to smoke the tires reversing up a hill. We have struck a deal and the initial price of around $750 may be reduced. He says it will drive almost normal as far as pedal pressure goes. Now all I need is a cheap GTR clutch that needs rebuilding. What are your thoughts ?
  18. Is the vg 30 an OP6 exhaust housing?
  19. Don't suppose you could post a picture could you? I am very interested. Rebuilding that could be better than rebuilding my hi-flow. How much damage? T3 ? ID tag numbers ?
  20. Believe me, when you change the diff bushes you will notice a complete lack of axle hop. Call Unique Auto Sport, they get them made up or imported. Think I saw one of the traders advertising them also. I only changed the front ones but car is quieter and no more clicking when I take off.
  21. I kinda hope I haven't been forgotten because you didn't mark me as paid.
  22. Around 20 on gain and 70 on the set gain for hi boost of 10lbs. Can't help you with low boost as never run that low. I have GCG hi flow and all the supporting mods.
  23. I`m with you Dale.Price is just as important if not more than a handfull of kws.So would Disco agree if you have a smaller compressor like the 3071 with an .84 or .82 turbine there should be no exhaust restriction and the added benifit of fast spool up or certainly slightly better than a 3076 with a .63 turbine housing. What would be interesting is a 3076 with .82 housing and compare spool up.Also, does the 3071 come with an anti surge compressor inlet?
  24. Also, can you mark me off as paid ? Thanks.
