Just so happens that I was at Hitmans the other day getting a tune and he pulled the cover off for the last run and got a 2kw increase from mid revs to top end.He reckons a pod would definately be better at a higher output.Bear in mind I have a cold air feed already set up from the old intercooler pipe hole in the guard going to the old air feed under the bonnet.I did this by cutting a hole in the underside of the lid scoop 3" in size. Then ran a heatproof pipe from the old intercooler hole to the new hole under the factory air feed and used a hose clamp both ends.Works great as I know the standard air box can lose 5kws.

Did I Just Score A Gcg Hiflow For $450?
skylinecouple replied to r32woohoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Definately a high flow like mine.Just looked at my almost new series 2 standard turbo sitting on the bench and yours has alot of machining. -
After reading 15 pages of this crap I think I`ll seriously consider selling my skyline. After taking off my neon lighting and 22" rims and my 200kilo sound sysyem.

Installing 3" Dump/front And High Flow Cat.
skylinecouple replied to FLYSLY's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Guys be carefull of the dump flange being thinner by making sure the wastegate arm doesn`t hit the heat cover bracket as camden mentioned. this happened to me and we could not figure out why the boost would go insane over 14lbs.Used washers to move the bracket back and the wastegate now has full movement.Big performance difference, believe me. -
No performance problems.Looks like it will have to come off as there is simply no room to get a drill in there but try a major workshop as they have some specialised tools that could help.

Fuel Pump Thread - Pros & Cons
skylinecouple replied to QRI05E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Jason, trust Nengun as I have bought some things off them that were quite expensive and always turned up.Including the Nismo pump and am wrapped in it.Quiet, strong flow, and has all wires attached with it`s own frame.Simply pull the old one out and throw it away as the Nismo is complete. -
How Do I Remove The Carbon Canistor
skylinecouple replied to r33madd's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don`t get caught without it by police or R.T.A. They would take a dim view of it I`m sure. The fumes from your tank will store in the charcoal powder within the cannister where it will be consumed by the engine under vacume. It has no side effects on the performance of the engine at all unlike hot oil fumes from the valve covers. If you let the fumes run to atmosphere then congratu lations, your wasting fuel vapours and poisoning us all for no apparent reason.By the way,try taking it off and tap it on the ground a couple of times then give it a shake. If you can hear the granules inside then good,if not then it needs replacing as they are supposed to only last 40,000km. -
Actually Paul,I have met you at Croydon and thought you are a genuine sort of bloke.I doubt though I`d call your car or Jason`s a street car.It would be a nightmare to cruise in either of them. And before anybody calls their car a street car try taking it over the pits at your local RTA.Just having fun of course, some people on here take life a little too seriously. You should both be proud of what you have achieved.Anybody making obnoxious comments need to be ignored.Street is only a racing catagory and if the people that run the race have a rule book then Jason, you need to read it and decide if you have a case.

The intercooler is good front mount and have fitted cold air intake to air box and small hole facing headlight.Besides,we took the air box and filter out and made 2kw.I know the turbine housing is R33 because I just took it off to look, thats why it took so long to get back to the forum.Something I noticed though, the housing doesn`t seem as opened up as one of Slides. The turbo is maybe four years old now but making 18lbs.Only just turned it up in the last three months and rarely hit boost anyway.Besides,I`ve never felt totally confident is those hiflowed injectors so will change them anyway.Slide can do me a set for $940 for Nismo 555`s.At the same time will get him to redo the rear housing.

Actually,on the subject of the inlet hose, has anyone tried cable ties every 50mm around it?I think just by doing that it feels just a little harder to squash.Havn`t had any issues since.

My Bosch 044 Failed Failed Today
skylinecouple replied to tuitahi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have a Nismo from Nengun and very easy to fit.Comes with everything already together, pull out old,put in new.Original wiring and plugs. So nice to turn the key and it just starts.5% noisier. -
I run 18psi and no boost leaks.Standard GTST R33 bov.Thats with GCG hiflow.

Now there`s a point, conscription was unreal in the sixties. I saw 18 year old drop kicks turn into real people after just 6 mths.Maybe after a year in the army hoons would appreciate there existance a little more.If your really that bored you have to destroy a family or cripple your girlfriend then here is a gun, go shoot the enemies of freedom.(no not me).

Maybe there wood be 4 cars on the road hooning but if one crashed there would be three friends alive and only one dead.

Clicking Noise From Rear
skylinecouple replied to bj_dove's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Mines really annoying me now, mostly because I don`t know what it is. -
Got another tune at Hitmans and with the hiflow turbo by GCG should be able to get 230rwkw at least.Matt seems to think it`s the injectors not having a good spray pattern but I`ve seen others with hiflowed injectors get the power they want.We thought at first it may have been the cat but I`ve since changed it to a metal 3" and although I got an extra half pound boost he still can`t add more than 15 deg. total timing. Is that normal for the following setup? Front mount Split dump,3" all the way back and metal cat. K&N panel. GCG hiflow Hiflow AVO injectors.(must admit they did look sus.Holes looked butchered but he says he flowed them twice to check) 18lbs boost to get 216rwkw. I have an almost new set of injectors from a motor that had 32,000k`s on it so was thinking to put them in and run a bit more rail pressure but if that doesn`t work then I`ll have to buy new injectors anyway. Any suggestions?

Oh, and when I suggest going back to one point I mean you lose that point for speeding or neg driving, not a broken tail light or bald tyre.

I agree with Scathing that the old are as bad as the young but experience will save the old in most instances, what about the young with no experience. As 4door Sleeper has tried to point out, accidents are avoided before they happen.Michael shumacher could not avoid another car if he doesn`t know it`s comming nor an oncomming car suddenly hitting him head on.But a P-plater could I`m sure, just ask one.Accidents happen because there IS no time to react or the car has reached a point where it cannot be brought back under control.By the way, and it`s just my opinion but why is it most P-platers have accidents with other people in the car. Because those passengers are egging the driver on or the driver is showing off.Simply remove the passengers from the car.Delete the red and green P`s and go back to the system I grew up with, one point on P`s, fullstop, no excuses.

Your right,I`m generalising. And our government does what? We simply cannot make a different law for each individual, what a nightmare that would be. Yes it is driver awareness, but you try telling that to a 19 year old.Look, the fact is most, not all but most P-platers have to see what their car can do sooner or later.Haven`t you wandered why insurance companies are reluctant to cover you until 26? Experience. It isn`t a guess, they KNOW you will have an accident.
-
If thyne eye offend thee, pluck it out.Roller rockers, yeah !!
-
How about an experiment where all the P-platers,and that includes the girls ,draw a line on a piece of paper with the name Michael Shumacher on one end and the name of the dumbest person you know on the other. Now put a dot where you think you should be on the line.Guaranteed all of you are one inch from Michaels name. Why go on about driver training when that will only encourage young drivers to test their new found skills.Come on guys you know your 19 and can`t die.Why do you think we send 19 year olds to war, because thats what they believe.I for one know what an incredible waste the income from fines is but gee guys, we have to buy 60million dollar fighter jets somehow.WHAT! You didn`t think they used it on road safety did you? Anyhow, final word,P-platers suck at driving.Give them all electric cars til they are 25years old.
-
Every time one of these discussions start I almost piss myself from how nieve some of you people can be.YOU(that is the P platers) YES YOU ! BRING IT ON YOURSELVES. And all the morons that went before you and that includes me. What? I here you say. Well let me give you an idea.Close friend of mine(some 30 years in fact), is on the lung deseases board. Now, he was in the city around two years ago and crossed the road near The Intercontinental down near the Opera house only to be cleaned up by a P-plater going through a red light because he was playing with his sound system. The investigation following the accident found the driver guilty. All good so far. My good friend also sits on the Road safety review panel that has direct access to government. Don`t get it? Geoff is a worker just like you and me.Geoff drives on the roads and goes shopping and walks across roads. He lives in a street just like you and me.He has eyes just like you and me. You don`t need speed cameras or police to see whats going on in the street, there is enough council workers, off duty police, public advisors, high ranking public servants, supreme court judges, barristers, federal police, detectives and numerous others to see us all every day.GO ON, put your foot down, the old guy next to you in the commodore or mercedes will love it. It will give him conviction the next time he has to draw up a radical plan to stop P-platers killing themselves and others. There is a lot of common sense on these forums but every now and again some of you get it very very wrong.A LICENCE IS A PRIVILEGE.
