hahaha thats crazy! I was wondering why they blocked off the entrance, they'd only do that if something major was going on. I have this one, my mechanic has explained the whine to me a while ago and ive kinda forgotten what he said, but something about the cams have now become worn in and its getting stuck doing its variable valve business when its idleing... Nothing to worry about he recons. Worst explaination... ever.

If ya dont want induction noises, you shouldnt own a turbo car. You get used to the sounds after a while, it wont be that big a deal... and you must have your foot to the floort 24/7 for induction noise to be annoying you as much as you say it is...

If its that loud then your blow off valve may be blocked. Make sure its working correctly.

The rules change every 2 weeks, thats why. I went to get my rego check done and the guy was like "we cant do import, new rules brought in recently". I told him to give the RTA a call, and they told him "oh yeah now you can do them, new rules brought in recently". Theres no consistency. The only thing that remains consistant is if you end up getting it passed at an inspection station, you're surely gonna get a letter to say you've gotta go past dickson anyways.

Just because he said it, doesnt make it true I'm sure every 3rd notice handed out is to check up on the inspection station, but the others are to make you remove the BOV and everything you reinstalled after you first got your rego...

i gained 10rwkw across the rev range - its not just peak power you wanna gain, it'll be a much better machine lower in the rev range too.

With the money i save on fuel each weeks its prolly paid itself off anyway. Yeah get one, they're good fun!

^ haha no shit, mine does the same too! This is bad, two annoying sounds in the same thread and my car shares both of them. The mechanic told me its the grease used on the starter motor catches dust and gets stuck after its done its job - he said a rebuild will fix it, using silicon grease so it doesnt stick to dust. But my high pitched sound is exactly as kasanoff described. Happened after the Front mount and coilpacks...

Mine does this too, after i installed Splitfire coilpacks...

Haha yeah i did the same, but i figured i'd be the dude with an unregistered maroon skyline flying thru all the speed cameras, then 2 weeks later i'd be the only dude registering a maroon skyline, and somehow it would get back to me. Very unlikely to happen, but still.

Mine sits around 10ish on a cold day after a bit of driving, but its been up to 35ish or so. Are you running really advanced timing? if not, then i wouldnt worry.

Mine makes a kinda whistle from the turbo side of the car since i installed the splitfire coilpacks. It only really does it when im boosting, so i'm gonna assume mines turbo related - but you say yours sometimes happens on idle... strange
