  3. nothing in the pdf talks about how to install the jun collar- just says its recommended. nor does it answer my questions about oil restriction.
  4. oil restrictor question. my builds nearings its end, i remember some where that oil restrictors are recommended can someone enlighten me on why?? i would say its due to the 30 and 25 blocks having differant oil restrictions etc but not 100% sure and what size restrictor is needed?? theres 2 in the block isnt there? do you use a differant size restrictor if your using an n1 oilpump on a 25/30. ALSO jun crank collar, does this need to me machined to fit the 30 crank or is it a straight fit. also any secrets on fitting it?? or you just push it over the crank.

  7. yep im going for 9s.... NOT! haha greedy plenum over-rated, i like supporting quality aussie parts 'where possible' im using the ford xf throttle- so your saying those 2 plugs (brown and purple) on the back of the standard plenum will not be used??

  9. easier said then done! last tuner i went to blew my engine, the whole reason why im now doing the 30. i believed him when he said it wasnt his fault (coz he was reputable) but when i pulled the head off there was mass detonation on 5 pistons, and number 2 was dry a nuns c**t and had a big hole in the side next to the ring lands so ye tuning is scary. does anyone have answers to my other questions??
  10. you should have went out and bought some new ones from nissan or some arp ones like i have in mine. not worth putting the old ones back in when arp sell for 229.

I put all the figures in the c/r calculator and it said 8.5:1 You cant work it out when the engine is assembled. i think these 2 posts were in response to my questions?? if they are and your accurate then your a legend, coz a cr of about 8.5:1 is ok for my daily ~320rwkw what do you guys think about using these n.a pistons forged pistons?? shouldnt be any problems?? what can i do to reduce and potential dramas? your estimate of 8.5:1 was with zero deck clearance yee? so all i would need to do when assembling is check the clearance and deck/face accordingly?? thanx you been much assistance
  12. anyone know ROUGHLY what comp ration i would expect with arais rb30 non-turbo pistons ( p/n AP340754 ) using the r33 rb25 head and rb30e bottom (block and head faced once), with 1.5mm head gasket. ive used comp calculaters but im sure im doin something wrong and it gives me wrong figures. any help would be greatly appreciated. im not sure how low/high piston sits but if we could go with zero clearance then i can make a better guess from there once its assembled. also is there an accurate way of getting comp ratios once your engines up and running??

  20. just bought some arp head studs and on the box it says 11mm for teh 25 and apparently teh bloke rekons teh 30 ones are also 11mm but were 30 odd bux more expensive would you also need an after market main stud kit if running around max of 24 psi with about 300rwkw??
  21. hold on a minute, are you saying the arp head studs are not a direct fit into the rb30det which uses rb25 head??
  22. the rear of the subzero plenum does not have the plugs (purple and brown ones) the standard plenum does, does this matter. ecu i will be using is wolf 3d v4 also it seems that theres a lot less hoses on the subzero plenum, does anything need to be blocked off before use?
  23. i want to know how to tell the differance between the standard oil pump and the n1 item??? is there any differance between a gts-t oil pump and a gtr one??
