Hey everyone, fitted the new springs and shocks on Saturday, took arond 4-5 hours with two ppl. Its easy once you know which parts are getting replaced or re used. . . So far I am quite happy with the new gear, it's still quite comfortable and liveable but it's firmer and flatter, and the rear is now pretty much glued to the road, my old rear shocks were so shagged it was all over the place. . . well worth the money . . . Thanks a lot to Gary for organising the group buy

Hey Gary, my order arrived this afternoon!! really looking forward to fitting the springs/shocks tommorow. . . Can't wait! I'll let you know how they go once they are in Thanks once again Jayson

You have PM Sydneykid, hope you have some springs/shocks for me! Cheers Jayson

Hey guys, having a bit of trouble with the 'Line lately, selects gears OK but when the clutch pedal is depressed it makes a grinding noise. I suspect it may be either the thrust bearing or clutch itself. . . It doesn't do it consistently, but its not nice. . . Any thoughts/suggestions? Anybody changed their own clutch? Is it relatively straight forward dropping the gearbox out? its a 95 Gtst BTW Thanks in advance Jayson

Hey everyone was a great event and had a good time. . . Plenty of good cars to check out, and race My best of five runs was: 14.258 @99.88 mph(so close to 100!) with a 2.320 60' Not too bad for a 33 GTS-T with just a pod, FMIC and cat back exhaust I guess. . . Need to get better 60 foot times. . . Thanks for organising it guys, and good to meet some other 'Line owners B)

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Sweet_Gtst replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey jazza08, they seem ok and only one of the fronts rubs (I only have one inner guard liner), I think the offset is actually the same as the standard wheels, cos they are marked '16*6.5JJR16 40'. Speaking to another 'Line owner this evening he reckons he used to run ten inches out back . . . No mods. . . B) -
Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Sweet_Gtst replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey guys, I've got stockers w/225/50/16's. But I Bolted up my mates BBS rims this arvo, may buy them off him. . . Skyline model = R33 Gts-t Wheel diameter = 18" Wheel width = 8.5" Wheel offset = +40 Tyre size = 235/40-F 265/35-R Stud Patern= 5 * 114.3 Modifications to fit = None yet, they seem to rub at full lock on the front, parking etc, and only clear the stock front brake calipers by ~ 2mm, haven't done enough driving on them yet. . . Anyone see any problems with this size? I'm surprised they fit at the back to be honest. Thanks -
Hey Ego, I think you'll have to decide what you like best man, they have a similar chassis/brakes/motor setup. . . A lot of ppl prefer the lower weight and the looks of the R32, they have similar speed and brakes to 33's But while the R33 is heavier it also has a bigger motor with much improved low down torque/power. . . IMHO try to get an R32 with an RB25 in it, best of both worlds. B) I got my 33 for <15 000 with mods, so it depends a lot on your budget too, take a couple for a drive. . . Good luck

Cheers Sambo33, wouldnt happen to know where I can get one? I'll try some local parts stores It's an insurance repair job so if I can find one then they will buy + fit it for me.

G'day guys, ive had my 'Line for about 2 months now, and i love it. . . Sadly the day after I got it someone ran into the back of me . . . It has only just been repaired last week, and now I have a different tail garnish, The original one had no paint on the outside, SKYLINE painted in white on the inside, and a bright green globe in it, looks awesome at night. . . Now I have a crappy one with a bit of silver paint on it and no light at all. can anybody clarify if the one I had is standard or aftermarket? Do they normally have a light at all? Here is a pic of the old one, which i might put back on if i can't get a new one, looks better IMHO. . . Thanks in advance Jayson

G'day man, i know it's not the advice your after, but i would highly reccomend you have a look locally, there are heaps of cars for sale, and the market has taken a real dive recently, I got my car, a 1995 gts-t, really cheap, good cond, with mods. . . it's my second import, the first one was from a dealer, fresh from Japan, and i know what you mean about wanting a fresh, stock one, but i don't think i'll buy from a dealer again. better value for money privately. . . it's your choice dude

Hey guys, I better start by saying that I have a bit of respect for the Gen 3, being that they can make a lot of power, but they don't have much tourque/power down low, the most important quality about a V8. . . Although you can make a lot of power with one, you can make plenty of power/torque with a RB series motor anyway, so why bother? I wouldn't be surprised to find they did the engine swap to annoy purists like me, cos there is just something fundamentally wrong with a V8 'Line, they have had sixes from the 60/70's onwards, and they have been great motors. . . just my 2c . . .

Hey guys good cruise, thanks to Deano and Gordon for organising it all. . . good turnout, lots of Nissans, mostly R32's, couple of 33's, 'Z's' etc. Looking forward to the next one, but I'm keen as for some hills action!! Anyone got some good pics to post up? Jays

G'day Wa Guys, Just Brought A 33 Gts-t!
Sweet_Gtst replied to Sweet_Gtst's topic in Western Australia
Hey guys, thanx for the input, I think the suspension must be standard cos it has plenty of clearance, just a lot stiffer than my last car, which was an import also, I didn't think the green lights were stock hey. . . With the boost control, I have connected tubing from the wastegate actuator straight onto the compressor outlet piping for a signal, onto the nipple the turbosmart bleed valve used to be on, and just removed the valve, i think this should give me standard boost levels? It is a lot smoother now, no spiking, running ~8 psi according to my guage. -
I just brough a R33 Gts-t, 95 model apparently. I'll be honest, I was actually shopping for another Nissan, but after I drove the 33, I had to have it. . . So I haven't done that much research on them. Was wondering if anybody could help with a few queries on the car: The car had a turbosmart bleed valve installed and was spiking real bad, so I removed it and put pressure straight onto the actuator. It is now better, but I noticed that next to the AFM there is a Soleniod with some chopped piping, should I reconnect it? If so how? The rear Skyline garnish lights up green, so do the footwell lights, is this standard? The suspension seems pretty damn hard but it is quite high, just how stiff is the stock stuff? There are quite a few small mods that I think are defectable, unsure what to do about them yet, I'm 20 and I live in Cop central. . . Anyways thanks in advance . . .
