  1. It's 12 months on one point,, I've had two of those licence's But, if you lose that one point, then it is and automatic 6 month disqualification,, I've had one of those too,, lol cheers John
  2. Yer I hope all goes well,, The biggest time consumer has been all the pollishing!! I still have a shyte load of stainless intercooler piping to buff up yet,, I would have loved to have finshed off with some nice adjustable timing gears but I'm on a pension and just totally ran out of funds,,,, cheers John
  3. Hey guys, just thought I'd post a pic of where I am up to,, Started buying bits a while ago and then came across a complete package,, so I will have some stuff for sale in the for sale section as soon as I get my finger out and take the pics, but as you can see I am a bit on the busy side,, I will have a complete Hybrid intercooler kit,, an SS321 Japmod topmount manifold, an XS Power dump pipe, and a Greddy type S blow off valve (genuine R33 boxed kit),, all parts are new and I will post them up soon,, Once I get it all running I may see if there is anyone here that I could get some web assistance in setting up all the Greddy engine management that I have too (e-manage, profec e-01 etc,),,,, looking forward to test driving,,,, lol cheers John
  4. Hey guy's,, I must be incapable, as I have searched but can't find any threads on interchangeable parts for the skylines,, IE,, oil filters, clutches, brake pads, water pumps, fuel pumps, etc,, Can some one point me in the right direction, or, is there not such a thread?, and if so should we make one,, just so those that have the know can share and save some of us a shyte load of cash on replacement parts, I do remember reading one thread on clutches where it was stated that the patrol clutch would fit etc,, is there somewhere where all this valuable knowledge is kept, or can we start a reference list? cheers John Ps:,, while I'm harping on, does anybody have a parts reference listing for Bosch part numbers on anything they make for the Skylines? I can't find any listings for the R33 on the Australian Bosch site as they are an import and their numbers stop at the '32',,,, and overseas sites don't have listings at all,,,, cheers John
  5. Mine is a July 95, has no ignitor, two plugs on the TPS, chrome badge on the grille, titanium badge on the boot, series one boot spoiler, Drivers airbag, seat belt holder on the drivers side only, and also has VVT,, is this a 1.5? cheers John
  6. Don't know if this helps, but when looking at short shifters, the listing on them states that one type will fit the r32 turbo and 33 non turbo,, the turbo for the R33 was a different shifter to the non turbo,,,, cheers John
  7. Kool, thanks for that,, it makes sense.. cheers John
  8. Hey guys,, in the process of fitting up a t70 top mount and FMIC kit,, Question is, can I put heat rap on the manifold or will this cause problems, also, why is there two vacuum conections on the external waste gate?, what looks like one each side of the diaphragm? I may also be asking for help in setting up my e-manage blue and profec E-01, but thats later on this week, after I get the top mount happenin,,, Any help appreciated cheers John
  9. I'm sure you could have hired the hole saw for about $10 from any hire mob,, bit much money to fork out to use it just once,,
  10. damn,, anybody wanna buy a cheap set of N1 cams,, lol cheers John
  11. Yep, many moons (about25 years) ago I was pulled over by the epa and had my 4 cylinder morris tested,,they put a mic on the exhaust and one on the engine,, now my car at the time had twin 1 and 3/4 inch SU's and it blew a healthy 115 db,, they told me to get it fixed and get it retested or i would be fined,, so I put on a stock exhaust, took it down, they put a mic onto the exhaust but not the engine, and then passed the car,, two weeks later I got the fine in the mail anyway,, pr*^#s,,, cheers John
  12. It's a 95 series 1 Turbo as for the lifters,, I can get a whole package with cams lifters and springs,, all only 12 months old,,, Am looking at bolting up a t70 shortly along with a few other mods so if I go that road I will no doubt need to upgrade throttle body and AFM,,, maybe to the Q45,,, cheers John
  13. Is there anybody out there that might know the answer to this or at least point me in the direction of someone who could???? I can get a set of near new N1 cams, springs and followers VERY cheap, but wont waste my money if it won't work,,,, cheers John
  14. When I bought my series 1 I had a choice of a quiet Nismo system or one with a 5 inch drift cannon seing as how I am too old for noise, I chose the Nismo system I have to say I am totally impressed with the quite system,, combined with the stainless high flow cat it flows great,, the best part is you can give it heaps and being quite, it does not attract the boys in blue,, you also get to appreciate the other sounds of the car more,, it just suits the car much more than a f*^#in loud blasting system and my personal opinion is that the RB's really don't sound that great with a cheap and nasty unmuffled system,,,' but taste is a personal choice and to that it is a choice all it's own, but I have not seen another nismo system like mine nor have I heard one like it either,, it's nice to be different in at least one thing,,,,lol cheers John
  15. The race series bearings do look inpressive,, I assume you mean a 1 thou extra clearance when you say 1 thou oversize, (in relation to 10, 20, 30 thou Undersize),, normally larger clearances are used in extreme high performance applications,, race engines for example run much larger clearances on all friction surfaces to allow for more expansion and lubrication under extreme temperatures / conditions etc,, the race series bearings have different oil grooves when looked at compared to standard bearings, they sort of taper off to allow greater dispersal of the oil,, I fitted a Larry Perkins Race series kit to a 308 for a mates boat a while back,, overall the whole kit was impressive with nice light weight pistons,, even came with welsch plugs too,, better gaskets,, and was only around the $600 trade,, very nice package,, would be interesting to see if they did a kit for the RB???? EDIT,, lol, forgot to add the disadvantages,, larger clearances are not good for normal everyday stop/start driving and without high vollumes of oil, any large clearances will only lead to exsessive wear,, clearances like that are normally only meant for constant high temp, high revs like racing,, cheers John
  16. When checking a vehicle for truth in odometer readings you need to look at all the aspects of the vehicle,, primarily the controls as they are the true indicator of use,, check the pedal rubbers, carpets and heel mat, the gear stick and hand brake boots for wear,, the skyline has a tendancy to wear a hole on the top of the hand brake cover just where you would rest your arm on top,, check the window controls, the panel that surrounds the switches is rubber coated and prone to wear and scratching,(all these items at that sort of K's will be like new if looked after), the steering wheel will show signs of wear but you still want to see some grain left in the leather particularly at that sort of low K's,, Another inicator of use and abuse of a vehicle that most people don't realise is the boot,, if the boot is immaculate and unmarked, the chances are the car has been looked after,, if the boot is trashed, so too will the car, (this is personal experience over the many years and many hundreds of cars that I have seen through my family), and it shows how the owner feels about his ride and the respect shown for it, I bought a series 1 skyline and it too only had 48000 on the clock, but there is no sign of any wear what so ever on any of the controls,, underneath the car is just as clean as a 5 year old car would be, the boot is as new and the spare and jack etc have never been touched, the wiring harness under the bonett still has japanses handwriting on little paper tags taped on the harness so the engine has never been washed,, look for any signs of items having been worked on like bruising on bolt heads which will indicate removal of bolts,, look for signs that panels have been removed or adjusted as you will see paint scrapped from bolts and or fresh areas of unpainted surfaces where panels have moved,, but really, if you jump into a skyline with that few Klm's,, it should, as mine did, drive, feel, look and smell just like a new car,, if it at all doesn't feel like new, then either the K's are bulls**t or the 48000 have been very hard ones and may as well be 100000 K's,, check the import papers,, the guy I bough mine from is Japanese and explained it all to me,, the class of import of mine is a 4 (5 is a new car) and there is much more usefull info on those sheets,, overall ,, don't just jump into the first skyline you see and buy it,, because compared to normal everyday cars,, even a bad skyline goes hard,,, test out a few and you will soon see which is real and which is crap.. cheers John
  17. Any help PLEASE guy's? I know the lift and duration would have to be different,, but will the cams fit and can the hydraulics be replaced with solids??? cheers John
