It's going to make it very hard to get any data over in 1min....see if you can eliminate all the suggested possible h/ware issues first. If you can get access to another pc, you could install your hdd then transfer across to the existing hdd. Or if it is a small amount of data you're after try a flash drive. Do you get the same issue when booting in safe mode? As said before definately, inspect & clean all fans, cpu, gpu, psu, case just to eliminate the obvious.

Also have you checked your cpu and fans...you might just be over heating the cpu = shutdown They could be clogged with dust or not working at all.

Nope, unless you have another drive or partitions setup it can't be done. The info on your hdd is written within the structure of your o/s, so you cant save it if you're doing a format and fresh install. If you can borrow a windows xp disk you could try the repair o/s option...if it's not to farked you might get away with it.

As I said "hey if 8 is your lucky number.... who am I to say different" My car runs good on .8 and runs much better on 1.1, regardless of how it's tuned, I get more out of 1.1, the engine has been re-built and has never had stock coils on it. The car had stock coils when I bought it...they were fine Gapping down on stockers is done to adjust for the standard tune on 98ron...nothing to do with coils. But hey thanks for the beer.

How do you figure a smaller spark is better on higher boost? Gapping down is a very basic and simplistic way of advancing timing...used to get around pinging on a stock non-tunable ecu. If you tune the car correctly with 1.1 gap it is better...you can actually feel the difference in top end, revs more freely. Splitfires don't create more horsepower, but they do give a stronger spark (%20?) which certainly helps. But hey if 8 is your lucky number.... who am I to say different.
