Bought a set of these for my mate. Very good service from sloutch and the US seller They took around 10 days to come, from order to delivery. Thanks very much for the group buy mate, my friend is stoked at saving over $500 compared to the cheapest Aus Distributor.

Targa Tas '08, Whos Running, Discussion Etc

Well done to all who competed -
Mine is nothing special by any means. It does show you can easily buy basic stuff and have an OK setup. G25 PS3 (GT5) PC (GTR2) (Note: the gear shift holder for my driving frame since arrived and has been connected, hence why the gearbox is "seperate" in this picture)

Dean, I've found the exact same with my setup. It sucks unfortunately... even decent amounts of power oversteer is near impossible.

R33 Gtr Gearbox With R32 Gtr Transfer?
TommO replied to TommO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well I've bought the R33 box... so i'll tell you in about a week if you're happy to wait -
Hi all, Firstly, I'm the first to admit I have almost zero knowledge in this area... so please keep that in mind. I had a jap twin in my GTR (ORC 709D), but after pulling it out, we found hairline cracks in the flywheel (not cool), I haven't owned the car that long so I can't tell you about the history of the clutch and it's usage. Anyway, I'm going to go a Jim Berry "full monty"... basically, I'm trying to work out what flywheel to use. He recommended a stock one, but most people seem to highly recommend a lightened flywheel. He said he can source an aftermarket one for $600, but I don't think it was lightened. Can anyone set me straight on what I should be doing/buying? I will try to buy a 2nd hand stock item if they are good enough as I imagine it's cheaper, but I'm also happy to pay the money for a new one if it's recommended? Or can I buy a lightened one? Blah, i'm confused! Thanks, Tommo.

Braided Oil Lines For Gtr Twin Turbos?
TommO replied to Gtrgodzilla67's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
How much did it cost the GTR owners in here to get the water and oil lines done? -
Be aware these can also cause problems... the spring that opens/shuts wears down over time and doesn't work as well. I've seen a number of people on here with this issue, i.e: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ost-t86026.html

IT situation management for a major investment bank. Great money, but sometimes the hours are hard, and can be very busy if something has gone wrong.

R33 Gtr Gearbox With R32 Gtr Transfer?
TommO replied to TommO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Anyone know ? -
I've played both games lot (I own both consoles) Forza is better in the majority of areas, especially regarding physics. GT5 looks better but unfortunately that's about it.. sucks too, I had such high hopes for it as I love the way they do races in gran turismo series.

Hi all, I've got a stuffed gearbox in my GTR... it currently has an R32 GTR gearbox in it after the last one broke. I've found a R33 GTR gearbox for sale that I want to buy, but it's without the transfer case. Questions: 1. Can R32 GTR transfer be used with an R33 GTR box? 2. I'm pretty sure but to check, there's no differences between R33 vspec and non-vspec gearboxes? Thanks all..!!! Tommo.

Best & Reliable Mechanics For Engine Rebuild In Nsw
TommO replied to 10MinuteCar's topic in New South Wales
Scott from Insight - they're in Arndell park (by Blacktown). A few good mates have used him with great results... and I've been to a dyno day there and there's no doubt he looks after customer cars As usual though, depends what ECU you have... I wouldn't use him for my power FC, for example, but I know plenty who have. -

A mate just got his engine (SR20) built from http://www.stmarysengines.com.au/, they did the head work / machining / fitting etc, and my mate providing the parts (cams / pistons / rods / timing gear)... They seem to be very good so far, and we'd heard nothing but good things. Other than that, almost EVERY workshop send your block/heads to specalists for machining etc.. -

They're good but you pay a lot for their experience. -
haha - I moved to Northmead today.. so unfortunately, there's no chance of walking anymore Maybe walking to the bus stop
-
Might not be able to make this in my skyline as it's getting a few repairs.... If not, i'll bring a GSXR1000 or a CBR1000 depending on what I feel like haha
-
Don't forget in the graphics part.... the car will not leave skid marks... It will not do burnouts starting in 2nd gear (my old R33 GTST could yet a Z06 can't?! Riiiight) "Catching" power oversteer is VERY VERY HARD... near impossible. So yeah, I dunno, they've stayed with the arcade style of the game... and the pro style hasn't been done very well.
-
Go to the time and date settings in your PS3s menu... select "sync time off internet". It'll be fixed after this
-
^ Agreed. A lot of people think GT5 etc is a simulation... and honestly, it does get much closer than the previous varients do The old ones were arcade based, this one goes much closer to being a simuation (with the physiscs set to "pro"). I agree with all those other games... I can never get into GP Legends personally even though I know it's a brilliant game.
-
Yep, I'm using a G25 properly setup I dunno, it's easy to control small sideways movements.. but I find it hard to control big slides out of corners. If you're a GT fan, you'll love it... but I've played every simulation game over the past five years, lets just say i'm a little more "critical" hehe
-
I reckon the game deals with oversteer really badly - you can't exactly just come out of a corner and hold a nice little slide (F430 excluded). Sucks cause it's a realistic part of driving, and hardly any simulators seem to be able to get it right

You've got a PM Is there any way to avoid GST and taxes etc? I imagine if we get "caught", it'll be no cheaper than buying them from AUS? Unless I'm missing something (most likely )
