  1. I prefer your R34 Cool for a cruiser though.... the wheels suit the car well I wonder how long it'll take until you miss the power haha
  2. The GTR is a faster car and more fun out of the box R34 GTT's are nice but they're the tame version of a GTR, nothing more (they're still an awesome car though). I've driven both extensively and as long as you're prepared to put a bit more into the maintenance of a GTR, the GTR is 100% the best option.
  3. The stock 3 centre gauges? If so, 7 on there is NOT 7psi I reckon get it dyno'd and you'll see whats going on with it
  4. In my R33 GTR it generally sits at 82 degrees with the standard setup
  5. Llets hope that never happens again...
  6. White R33 @ Minchinbury BP around 5:30pm today Had a SAU sticker on the back
  7. Fit the powerFC and head straight to a tuner. No point fitting it unless you're getting it tuned to make the most of it's potential.
  8. Also, don't bother saying how many KMs you get to a tank. The best way to work it out is: 1. Fill up to a full tank 2. Reset trip meter 3. Drive 4. Fill up, note how many litres it takes 5. Do this calc: Litres divided by KMs ... then times that figure by 100 = Litres per 100 KMs The reason this is a better comparison is that one mans "empty" is different to another persons. For example, I normally get 320kms out of a tank... but I never take mine to RIGHT on the E mark, and I put 42-46L in it.... so around 13 - 14 L per 100kms, which is around normal for a mildly modified GTR IMO.
  9. It'll only apply as much as it thinks it needs. Have you got good rubber? What clutch? How much power? If I launch mine it'll also spin all the way through first... but I do see 50% on the meter, and it's just power with an aggressive clutch thats making it spin.
  10. Is that the one that crashed @ WSID ?
  11. Any updates? I just got back from a 2000km return trip and I've now got this same problem... I'm happy to spend the cash to fix it but it sounds like no one has an extra answer. I've got a standard S3 R33 GTR drivetrain with a ORC twin plate.
  12. They obviously don't have too much mechanical simpathy in this magazine... "for 11s, hold the GTR at rev limit for 5 seconds and drop the clutch". Ouch! Otherwise, it's not a bad read... I'm interested to see Ignition DVD again when it has the next installment of the Tskuba trip of the Hi Octane GTR
  13. Just bought it then So i'm assuming that's BLITZ's R33 GTR on the cover... I want R34 GTR seats too hehe
  14. I can't read the buttons - does this allow a R33 GTR to run in 100% RWD mode?
  15. Was it tracked? Any idea of there were oil control mods done to the motor? My understand is that bearings like that go due to lack of oil.
  16. Is that dirtgarage tune on C16 or pump?
  17. Going to have to pull out... just realised this is the same weekend as MiniJam in QLD and i'll be up there. Bugger (
  18. Thanks I'm not so convinced it's gone now... it was a hard launch at the drags and I think it just got too hot. It's been fine ever since but I don't drive it hard on the street, so who knows. Good to have a contact for the future anyway!

Totally agree, I really dislike the c**ts that do it. It's poor form.
  20. Speaking to Snowman who has 2860-5's, he found just fitting cam gears made the biggest difference, so i'd at least look at those... the actual cams weren't that beneficial, if anything causing less down low, and hence took them out, but definitely left the adjustable cam gears fitted. The tuner really needs to know what they're doing though Anyway, I ended up fitting Tomei 260/260 9.15mm lift cams + cam gears (no head mods required, all shims were fine).... gained 38kw@4 on the same boost, using 2860-5s... with more power throughout the midrange, but significantly more high in the rev range. Fine for my driving style, I don't need brilliant response as I don't do any competitive circuit work
  21. Hi, Clutch has started to slip, so it looks like it's reached the end of it's life. Anyone know where to get rebuild kits for ORC twin plates? Cheers, Tommo
  22. Condition of tyres?
  23. 11.7 @ 122mph, 1.8 60ft. I've gained 5mph, but only 0.1 on the ET.... traction has become a real problem lol. I managed to nail a 1.6 in one run but unfortunately shifted into 2nd a bit too early. Ended up witrh a 11.7 @ 117mph that run... dammit, that would have been my 11.5
  24. More power isn't always a good thing. (note: get out there and prove me wrong already )
  25. Please let us know when you do... as when this B Pillar Garnish arrives, if it looks like a sticker, I won't be fitting it
