  1. Yeah, always a good idea to upgrade the turbos considering the issues stockers have with lots of boost and age. I'd do: Turbos Injectors Fuel Pump ECU Exhaust AFMs (depending on ECU) EBC (depending on ECU) And then you need clutch etc. I've been told you can get very close with stock injectors but I have no personal experience with this.
  2. Yeah, only thing I dislike about the R32 GTR was it's age and not as nice to drive daily... hence my choice of the R33 GTR
  3. R33 GTRs are a car that look much nicer in real life compared to photos too, you see the lines and "fatness" a lot better. Not that it matters - if you don't like 33 GTRs, don't buy one
  4. It is.... they're crap dailys.
  5. Evo was 1470... and yeah I think that's about right for my whale Not really that much in the scheme of things.. R33 feels a lot "firmer" when cruising around though, the Evo just wants to go fast and nothing else...
  6. They can be awesome, just need the money spent
  7. If you want big power and fast numbers, a GTR is easier (esp power). It handles having that much power really nicely, and is still daily driveable etc. If you want to go to a circuit and decimate all (mainly a tight circuit like Wakefield), the Evo is perfect... but it'll struggle to handle the 300kw you want. It'll take a rebuilt motor to get there, whereas an RB26 can do it stock. Let alone the driveline issues you might run into on the Evo...
  8. Besides, Evo's are boring.... well, not for the first six months haha, until you realise the car will never do a thing wrong and drives itself. A GTR is a much more rewarding drive! (I owned an Evo for over a year before the 33 GTR). If you want to get quick numbers around a race track, then Evo is the best choice, but it's not as rewarding to drive. I can see your into drags, I wouldn't buy an Evo at all if you are....
  9. I drive daily. I don't leave my car to sit there and warm up for 5 minutes, it's a waste of time... I get in it and drive it.... however, I wait until water temp is > 80c and oil temp > 70c before going near boost. I'll hit boost most trips as I usually drive to work which is 40kms away, it's not like it's damaging anything to do so . I also make sure I service my car every 5000kms without fail.
  10. When I had my GTS-T, I never really bothered thinking about the upgrade. Just loved the GTST for what it was and enjoyed it! However, when you drive the GTR, you really love it... just the way it drives, it's got a real presence to it and just feels so tough... good times, I recommend the upgrade
  11. I've owned an Evo 8 MR and a R33 GTR. Evo is very fast but the GTR is much more fun to drive whilst still being fast, and shitloads easier to get power out of it.. esp if you want a quick straight line car. Have a read of this thread, as I did a big reply about Evo vs GTR... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ev...tr-t190951.html I would go the 33 as it's a bit newer...
  12. It'll look great - expensive though, and a prick to keep the wheels clean. The opposite looks nice too - white with black rims (Biased..)
  13. I've got 18inch CE28s and I love them, although think they're a tad small. I definitely think 19inch rims are the go.... apart from tyre costs.
  14. It's awesome mate - games like GTR2 / GT Legends / RFactor (ie proper simulation games) will let you use the clutch and the 6 speed gearbox. Things like NFS etc don't
  15. I'm in Baulkham Hills and we got hit pretty hard.... car was in garage luckily. Sorry to all that got hit. Some pictures I took attached. I took the two "garden pictures" about 5 minutes after and they'd already melted a fair bit. They were 20c pieces round when first coming down, nasty stuff...
  16. Well done, thanks for the pictures/videos, and congrats on your time
  17. If you don't have money to fix stuff, don't remove the restrictor. Higher boost is more stress on components GTR's aren't a "I want to mod it for cheap" type car IMO People can and do, some get unlucky...
  18. Agreed, CHE are great guys. They did the exhaust on my old skyline.
  19. Unique Auto Sports, Seven Hills. Suits your location request perfectly and they do great work.
  20. Well, on the plus side, at least he's forcing people to upgrade to big turbos
  21. Nothing wrong with staying with a GTS-T, they're still great cars... besides, just chuck some mickey thompson tyres on the rear and go hunting for traffic lights haha.. Nah, quite different. I've owned both and I can assure you a GTR is much "harder" to drive fast than the Evo... GTR will actually still get very sideways and won't just come back by itself, the Evo is just gas -> brake -> turn -> gas. Very fast, not as much fun
  22. R33 GTR on Seven Hills Road 5:55pm R32 GTR Harbour Bridge 6:40pm
  23. haha, yeah they're tight huh!! I guess I might sound like a dick posting this, but remember you're comparing a GTS-T vs a Evo... it should be a GTR vs Evo, as that will equal up the standing start and corner thing haha Still, the evo is an awesome car, congrats on the buy, having a newish car is awesome hey... just get in it and drive! Make sure you get to a track someday... the car will amaze you..!!!!
  24. Thanks for the pics... thats my 33 GTR in the rear photo. Millions of cars out that night, haven't seen so many modified cars in a big group like that in years
  25. If you had some that could make a R33 GTR full time RWD (via adjustable in cabin switch), I'd be very interested.....
