^^they are probably ford steelies. steel = ok
  3. fronts u will almost certainly have issues, a good rule to follow by is a 17x9 +30 with a 235/45 tyre is the least amount of inner clearance u want up the front. the upper control arm is the limiting factor, ive run the above specs and there was only mm's separating the tyre from the UCA. so +35 and 255/45, i cant see it fitting. the guards u may have issues depending on the suspension, but u will need at least a roll. rears u will need a roll as well, inner clearance on suspension is fine.
  4. lol who the f**k cares? its a dedicated drag car good for one thing up against a factory car that is relatively comfortable with plenty of luxuries, is reliable, can do more than just going fast in a straight line, and most importantly is legal. let the honda boys have their victory, because in the end, its just a civic that can go fast in a straight line.
  5. the R32 hub lip that the wheel centres on protrudes 5mm from the mounting face, a 5mm spacer will eliminate this centering lip on the mounting face. this can cause vibration at high speeds etc.
  6. say the owner told him that it had an alarm maybe? hadnt had the car long, long enough to realise the previous owner was talking shit? anyways, farkin hot car, will definately be able to identify it if i see it round my area.
  7. Just posting on behalf of a bloke who doesnt really use SAU much, so ive just copy and pasted his question: Hey all...me and my dad are sussing out R34 GTR's for his next car...we have found one in Sydney which is really nice has 26,000kms, books and its totally stock...even has a stock exhaust! Now the car has a nismo factory option bodykit, which is ok...and im acting the fool when talking to this dude...to see how full of shit he is...he is trying to spin something about the motor having an X at the end of the engine number instead of an A...and that indicates its some sort of Nismo tuned engine... I'm very skeptical as I have never ever heard of this...but I thought I would ask anyway...so...has anyone heard of RB26's from 34GTR's only having engine numbers ending in A and has anyone heard of this mysterious X popping up? Cheers in advance... PS the thought of an N1 block has crossed my mind...
  8. yeh the posts part is a bit iffy, i know ns use it, but it does promote spam. we should take advantage of the trader system we have here on SAU, as long as people dont go to the effort of creating troll accounts so they can give each account trader ratings etc.
  9. also if ur only worried about dodgey traders why not only limit the edit feature to just the classifieds?
  10. how about people with a certain amount of posts, been on the site for a certain period, and got a trader rating can edit posts at least.
  11. ahk, fair enough, thanks. I'll give u guys a call tomorrow at Superior and have a chat with Matt about going 6/4 instead of 5/4.
  12. haha you would have thought by now they would have huh?
  13. Thanks mate, yep thats me, as i said the PM system is just way too slow, especially with the amount you receive. When i sent the messages it didnt come up and tell me that ur inbox is full so thats probably where the issue is as it used to tell u when the recipient's inbox was full. The first one i didnt get a reply to was sent was back on the 23rd, hence why i thought there might have been an issue. I've just got the contact details for the workshop where Matt works so ill give him a call and discuss it with him, as i need to talk to him about a few other things as well. While i'm at it, will the 6kg spring be fine to run on the front standard bilstein until i am able to get i revalved to the higher spring rate? roughly what will it cost to get the 2 fronts revalved?
  14. Hey, just chucking this in here as i know he frequents this section and i guess its related to suspension. I was reading his profile and noticed some other people are having issues with him replying to PM's, now im not sure if theres an issue with his messenger or he's too busy to be reading through PM's ATM (which is fair enough), but i ordered some suspension off his son Matt using Gary's account about 1 and a half months and really need to know the status of it all as i know there have been delays etc. but im just missing too much track time ATM and really want them ASAP. I understand this isn't Gary's transaction so i would prefer to talk with Matt directly, so if either u could reply to this Gary/Matt or could someone chuck me a contact number i can reach them on, i beleive i have Gary's somewhere but dont really want to be troubling him when its Matt i need to talk to. The PM system is just way too slow and frustrating. cheers, Stewart

ur AME's which are 3 piece, yes, not 2pce.

sorry, but im actually not talking shit, and im sure if u had any idea urself ud realise that 2pce wheels mean the disk and the barrel are separate pieces, this means the barrel/rim is ONE PIECE, so without a cut and shut job it is impossible to change the width. but i guess if u knew this u probably wouldnt have talked about simmons who actually specialise in 3pce wheels where the barrel is actually 2 pieces. AFAIK simmons do not cut and shut, they create a rim section just like every other wheel manufacturer does.

it costs a torque wrench and 20 minutes.
  20. i havnt heard a bad thing about action, never actually been there but AFAIK they are decent.
  21. sorry mate, but bald tyres are bald tyres, u should have got new tyres on before u let them become illegal, if u cant u shouldnt drive. u obviously dont realise how much shit is spilt to them on regular occasions, so they just cant take ur word for it. saying that, a full inspection for tyres is pretty stupid as its a minor defect, whats the deal with having to go full inspection because it was interstate?
  22. what parts did they end up changing over?
