try and keep the derogatory comments out of it, im sure we all have strong opinions about SAPOL, but they do read these forums and the last thing we need is to increase the reputation car enthusiasts have of being anti-authority.

waaay too broad of a question. need more details, such as tyre, intended use etc.

this is the thing, you could run that past me if i didnt see petty stuff having time spent on it, but these imports are still getting defected for stupid things at massive rates, a lot of time is being spent on defecting cars like this, but no where near enough is being spent on finding and preventing these cars from being stolen. stealing a car is a lot more serious crime than having tyres that are 10mm over standard width, but heres the thing, crime prevention costs resources, defects create resources. which would u chose to spend ur time on? they arnt idiots, they have a business to run, unfortunately it comes at a cost to the general public.

Wheels For Drifts R33 Gtst

better off spending a few hundred more for some decent wide wheels. small, floppy tyres on the back of a car drifting ftl! -

how much power are u running? for a skyline around 200rwkw id be running 235/40 and 255/35. if u needed to get more power down id be going a 9.5" or 10" and go 265/35+. -

haha ahk, thing is at what speeds does it lock up? im talking about the viscous opening and closing at 50+k's, usually thats way too much force for a open diff to even try and lock up. -

a turbo car with a LSD is a lot more easier to land urself in trouble than a commie V6 or even V8 with an open wheeler. people focus too much on peak power or which one is faster, power delivery and handling characteristics are a lot more important that which one beats the other off traffic lights down anzacs. -
Why? Rear Edge Of R32 Bonnet Looks "raised"
nisskid replied to sl33py's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i think the bigger issue is, for the minor benefits u get, is it worth having just another, and very obvious thing officers can defect u for? personally i dont, and its not legal on the track anyway (well under CAMS at least, not sure about others) so its pretty useless. -

Why? Rear Edge Of R32 Bonnet Looks "raised"
nisskid replied to sl33py's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
but wouldnt raising the bonnet direct air upwards and over the outlet creating a area of low pressure just where the outlet is? also i would imagine there would be some pressure build up from air movement into the engine bay from the front with no outlet at the rear, at least enough to allow air to escape from an outlet at the rear. also these things are illegal, just like a any vented bonnet that faces backwards as it is risk of oil or any other fluids coming out and over the windscreen. -
RB25 turbo - $300 Bosch 040 - $200 3" Turbo back Exhaust - $500 (for my original 2nd hand exhaust, my new one: $1300ish) FMIC - $400 Remapped ECU - $500 Total: around $2000 183rwkw @ 12psi with leaner A:F and higher boost could get up near the 195mark.

haha im not saying i dont go for a thrash, but i think i and a lot of my mates had the right attitude when we got our cars, we didnt go straight out and try to be heroes, we got a feel for our cars, we slowly built up our experience and skills to a point where we were competent drivers and had a good feel for car control. u cant get this experience from doing anything but owning one of these cars and getting a feel for a powerful RWD car's rear end coming out on u, so the best u can do is go in with the right attitude and build up experience. but yeh, i agree, most young people go in with a wrong attitude, especially people who are considering going with a powerful car because its usually for these reasons: 1. they are buying it because they want something powerful that they can play around with and go fast in 2. because they want to show off to their mates, which will inevitably lead to him showing off to his mates in the car and giving into peer pressure, which if anything is probably more dangerous. -

yeh all i was saying is that IF he did have the right attitude i think he'd be fine, and that just because he didnt have much experience didnt mean he wouldnt be able to drive the car safely. i dont really know what the guy is like, havnt met him in real life so cant really make a proper judgment on that. -

it was in relation to mallala, i was saying it would be fair to ask for a bit more than what mallala charges. -

im not trying to defend young people, just picking on a few statements. i think to say that it is impossible to have enough experience by the age of 17 to be a safe and competant driver is unfair as ive seen plenty of examples that dismiss this. although that's not to say i disagree that most do not have much experience, but i think if they carry the right attitude they can be fine driving a powerful car without much experience. im not trying to talk about the general public here, im saying if this guy has the right attitude i think he would be more than fine to get an turbo import. but i think that applies to everyone, young and old, even with experience, if you have the wrong attitude u can land urself in trouble often. -
haha wouldnt suprise me if it was

hey mate, as far as the hoons go, well, thats life. i can tell you me and many other people are more than happy to pay a reasonable fee for practice days, around the $100 mark. as far as spectators i think its fair to charge a touch more if the facilities are decent. as i mentioned before, drift is becoming very big in motorsport, and its only going up, i think it would be very beneficial for the designers to really take into account the sport. are you aware of any plans to consult the drift community as far as track design goes? i know it sounds like a big ask, but if they were to secure some of the big rounds of drift competitions im sure it could help out the track a lot, as i mentioned with the massive crowds drift already pulls at places like mallala. -
Tein Super Street Coilovers
nisskid replied to Antone's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i use my adjustable sway bars to balance the car (aka dealing with under/oversteer), using adjustable damper, especially in the cheaper coilovers to balance the car like that isnt a good idea imo. -

haha same. definately looks promising, i had a chat with the people that had organised the rally down at port adelaide, and they confirmed that there was a circuit to be made, that was to be used for both racing and drift. on a side note they mentioned the part about drift without any prompting by me so it definately seems to have the recognition when designing the course. it would awesome to see the drift community consulted about the track to make it the first track designed with drift in mind. especially with the numbers DA and even G1 have been seen to bring to mallala, it would definately get the numbers through the gates of the new track.
