  1. bump, cos i need to know badly
  2. lol i think i just pee'd
  3. ^^how loud is urs normally? i know it makes a fair bit of difference for me, but like i said i have a straight through. its funny to see the difference responses on here and ns.com, i think the only conclusion i can draw is that majority of skyline drivers are pussies with 2 mufflers whereas alot of silvia drivers have very loud exhausts so they are probably more effective on louder cars etc. lol thats probably bullshit, but i do notice that with the 2 cars
  4. ive had mine on for a little bit less than a year, it seems to still be working fine, it feels like it gets stuck sometimes but i dont really know. they are around $200 from autobarn for the drift brand ones. they do take some of the heart out of the exhaust note, i have a straight through exhaust so it is very useful for me. ive never been pulled over purely for my exhaust, i just wack it in 5th and put the valve on and its pretty quite.
  5. ok so more info: when i secure the dipstick tightly the issue doesnt seem to be bad, when i sit it on there loose it comes back. i assume this is what its like all the time as after driving it slowly comes out a bit and sits loosely. also revs drop and rise simultaneously with pulling the dipstick in and out. so its looking like a bit of crankcase pressure, but i dont seem to be burning any oil, so i dont know about rings. i also made 141kw's recently with just 3inch catback, pod (un-heat shielded) and chinese copy FMIC (unboosted, so no real gains yet) with the above A:F's, so it doesnt really seem like my engine is in all too bad condition, still seems to pull pretty hard throughout the rev range, possible a bit more vibrations (or it could be in my head) but that would make sense with low oil pressure.
  6. Has anybody got aN APEXi ECV installed on there cars? yes Do they make much difference? yes Would they resrict flow even when they are fully "open"?? no where would be the cheapest place to buy one?? Autobarn, Drift brand
  7. well i cant buy it now cos ive sent him the message, someone else is gonna have to. but be careful cos u dont wanna get a warning next to ur name for not sending the funds,
  8. done and done also left him a nice little message
  9. if i remember correctly there are a few issues with RB25 ecu's, i think i remember sam saying somewhere about it.
  10. since when the f**k did u have a RB25 R32?
  11. get a custom straight through turbo back, should be able to get one for under $500 at a good exhuast workshop, great flow, cheap and f**king loud
  12. ^^i beleive redtop coilpacks will but not 100% sure, i remember someone saying this a while back, so i went and bought CA ones for my R32 silver top and they had different plugs.
  13. ^^yeh i hope ur right with the cold start thing, i have heard that there is something like that but im pretty sure i didnt smell it until recently. with the running lean thing, i have nfi whether thats the problem. i still have my money on it being a oil pump. but there are many characteristics that dont seem to lead to being oil pump, if anything they lead to not having enough oil, but like i said i have checked the dip stick and it seems all fine.
  14. im kinda bumping this up as i was also like to know but cant really be f**ked doing a search.
  15. yeh they are certainly close to borderline, too close for my liking, like i said its gonna get remapped soon so they will be sorted out.
  16. yeh i wouldnt mind seeing the A:F's now with the 040 in, i will find out soon when it gets remapped again but i suspect they will be the same as in that dyno, Turbo Tune (dont laugh) didnt seem to pick up anything at the time, it was only recently almost a year later that boostworx said i should look at changing it soon, to be honest i didnt feel it leaning out when i was boosting it hard (before i found out the pump was f**ked) but i was going to change it anyway to an 040.
  17. yeh shaun at boostworx said i should be safe until the light comes on, but id prefer not to wait till then. 8-10psi is about 400-500 mm of Hg right? mine sits on between 150 - 300 crusing in 5th, when accelerating it goes to 400+ but the main problem is idle and low rev stuff (even cruising in 5th) when it will just drop down to sit on the bottom. actually now that i read ur post i think u mean x100mmHg not psi, yeh that is true, general rule is 100mmHg per thousand rpm. Its booked into Boostworx to get oil pressure and compression tested. hope all goes well. no A/M Ecu unit, but when i saw those A:F's i figured it had probably been remapped. If the fuel pump was able to supply enough fuel at the top RPM then it shouldnt be the cause for leaning out at any lower revs, if it couldnt supply fuel anymore the A:F line should have flattened out or raised at some point. i cant see where it has done that, but it doesnt really matter cos either way u were right and it did need to be replaced a while after that dyno.
  18. yeh fuel pump was f**ked, how can u tell that from the dyno? the A:F goes down as the revs go up. it now has a 040 in it. im about to go to boostowrx to get it booked in, but i dont want them to charge me if theres nothing wrong.
  19. ok a few answers, i rekon ive seen white smoke come out the back when ive reved it up, as noobish as it is i really havnt sussed that out much. CruiseLiner: dont think so RellikZephyr: nah no catch can. Cubes: A:F's are a tad lean but not unsafe, this was done a while back. i know its not to clear but u can kind of see them.
  20. ok so im going through the thought lines, wondering whats wrong with my car. basically as of late i have had a low oil pressure problem, it really all started from a trip up the river which was on a highway sitting at 110ks. When i got up there i realised my dip stick was out and oil had been spurted out onto the engine bay. i checked the level after and it seemed to be fine. Anyway, on the way back i noticed the oil pressure would drop down to near 0 or on 0. so i pulled over, gave it a few revs and the needle lifted slightly off the bottom of the gauge which made me think that it wasnt the gauges fault. anyway recently its been getting worse, always dropping randomly down to 0 and i believe i can feel the engine shuttering off the line and in general not as smooth when the needle is down the bottom. now i dont think im just tricking myself into thinking its running rough but i guess its possible. In the morning it runs very rough, when i go around corners when the car has been running for less than a minute or 2 it looses power when i try to accelerate out of the corner. It also has a smell of unburnt fuel which hangs around until its been running for 10-20mins, but that may be completely different to this problem. so its got me thinking, i really do believe its a oil problem, not a gauge problem but it seems to have enough oil still. any suggestions would be great, cheers.
  21. my mates R33 got owned by a pretty much stock CA 180sx from a rolling start, no bullshit apparently they pulled off evenly from 40ks and the CA slowly pulled away from the R33. i was pretty skeptical, but apparently its no bs.
  22. to answer 3 of ur questions R32 R32 R32 i got a HCR32 4door
  23. defensive driving FTW!! lol
  24. i hope the commo driver gets found at fault, only reason being he has full comp and the other guy doesnt, but apart from that he did turn in front of the other guy. In that situation i make sure everyone coming is definately not going through and is slowing down before i cross over.
