Help Me Work Out Offset
nisskid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
fair enough, personally id be ditching the 7's, useless for performance on a S13, get some cheap 8" or 9" rims. should pic something up for a few hundred. -

dunno why ud choose to go skinnier than u have to, why would u want less grip? -
few pics at G1, the last ones before i raped the whole drivers side with 12 bundles of tyres

Help Me Work Out Offset
nisskid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeh doesnt surprise me that's fouling quite hard on full lock. if ur planning on doing drift, ull need to go something like a +25 offset to get that away from the rails on full lock, the problem only gets worse if u put lock spacers in to give you more lock. id say at that point ur probably looking at needing a +20 or so offset. that will be pretty snug up against the guard, but you should be fine with -4 camber as that will tuck it in a lot. -

these guys are the guys to see tho: Edwardstown Powdercoating 9 Lagunta Ave Edwardstown SA 5039 ph: (08) 8277 9500 very professional, great work, and the cheapest when i called around. the guys down there have a few imports for themselves, last i checked i think one had a S7 RX7 and the other a 34 GTR if i remember right. good bunch of blokes, the sandblaster guys they were using for my wheels f**ked up, but instead of the powdercoaters wiping their hands clean they went out of pocket and made sure i went away happy, even though it wasnt even the powdercoaters fault they went missing. i have reccomended quite a few people to these people and they have always walked away happy with the results, and extremely happy with the price. maybe not a great example as these were dirty at the time but heres my GT-P's i got done black: here's the GTR wheels done white: -
Help Me Work Out Offset
nisskid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeh depends what size tyre u use, if u used the same size tyre on the 8" as u did on the 7", bit of strectch but ull gain a tiny bit more clearance from the chassis rail at full lock (due to the lower offset). u go a lower profile and ull gain quite a bit more clearance once again. i know it may not make sense, but uve gotta remember on the inside, the different components that u can foul on, foul in different ways. but yeh ideally for a 8" u want at least a +25 or so offset to get some inner clearance. -

yeh that's ur chassis rails, more negative offset and lower profile are the most effective ways to stop that, also thinner tyre/wheel will help as well. -

yeh i know, im just trying to think how ur wheel is fouling on ur LCA :S sure it's not ur knuckle making the marks? -
Help Me Work Out Offset
nisskid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
LCA clearance? :S get the guy to measure the caliper clearance, basically u put a solid flat object or soemthing against the mounting surface, then measure the distance to the spokes. however going by the pics id say they have plenty of clearance. -
really? how do they work? i had the flat outs, put me off offset bushes for ever cos they were useless.
-
nope and nope. bushes need to be undone and taken out of the bracket to adjust them. main reason i dont like them. hub bushes can be done on car, but it's much easier to take them off.
-
each tyre is different, each car is different, but id be putting in around 33psi for the street.

Rim Size For A R33 Gtst
nisskid replied to USU_R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
my only worry would be inner clearance at the rear with the toe knuckles, but im not 100% sure how much of an issue it is with the 33. ull have plenty of guard clearance, rear will be sunken as fark. -
