  1. still, far far away from getting even close to reasonable. ive done everything uve listed there, except for the rack reco, and i would have struggled to pay over 2k for the lot. so even if u had a dipshit mechanic who took 25+ hours to do all that stuff, u still got taken for a ride. and for the record, if the guy takes 25hrs to do all that then u need to go elsewhere, because you could tape a spanner to the head of a squirrel and it would get done quicker than that.
  2. jp.auctions will fit, may or may not scrap a little bit with a 235 depending on the car, 225 u should be fine.
  3. great pics man. another one i like, something about the gloomy sky, rough paint and body, and the bright white wheels (first time theyd been on the car since the powdercoaters)
  4. people just have to remember if u want tough fitting wheels its rarely as simple as getting a tyre place to putting them straight on with a tyre they choose for the wheel.
  5. haha true, ns will just tell u to stretch a tyre up against the guard, and when u say u dont want to they'll call u a pussy lol when u say u covered the diametre and width, are u talking about the 17x7's? i thought they were ur old rims and u were looking for something new completely different? maybe im still missing something lol as far as width, u can go a 8" and 9" fairly easy on the S13, but it depends on what tyres u wanna go. rear u can get away with something like a 17x9 +38 with a 245 or 255 depending on camber and suspension. front is a little bit more difficult as there's clearance issues with coilovers, and each coilover is different to how much clearance there is. how much clearance is there now with the 17x7 +40's? i can go from there as to reccomending an offset for the fronts. and with the disk type, yep ur on the right track, it's not an easy spec to get, but u need to to be certain about clearance.

  7. haha ur not the only one, a few people have asked me for a high res one but i cant find the original
  8. its the shadow which makes it looks lopsided, i know what u mean as i noticed it when i saw it. oh and mount was a present, not sure where from. its a manfrotto f1000 tho and u can grab it online.
  9. i cant pick my favourite, and since everyone else is posting up more than one ill do some of my favs. the pics im putting up mostly arent of when it was looking good, just like the angle, lighting, quality etc of the picture.
  10. i couldnt consciously reccomend someone to put cheap, low quality rims on a GTR, stick with the sterns. besides that, id rather have 17's over 18's anyway, so for me it's an obvious choice to go better tyres.
  11. :ninja: the reason why u might not being getting a decent response is ur simply not giving enough info. a few things: caliper clearance isnt determined by offset, it's determined by disk type, a completely different measurement you havnt specified wheel specs besides offset ur not gonna get much under without rolling the guards what height will the car be running?
  12. yeh only thing is the stock one uses a resovoir which sits vertically, so any air sits up the top of the resovoir. this one sits inline with the standard rear brake line, so it doesnt work the same as the one up front.

  14. yes, solid is noisier than bushed.
  15. hey guys, need a definate answer. about to mount a master cylinder for a hydro handbrake and need to know whether they can be mounted horizontally with the input and output on the side instead of directly up. my main concern is air pockets forming in the top of the cylinder that cant escape through the lines. here's the design (not the same model)
  16. holy shit, didnt think it was that bad, wow.
  17. as soon as u go above 205 (stock) ull get a lot of sidewall flex, which will take heaps of feel out. even at 205, depending on the tyre ull still probably get a lot of flex. and imo 205 just isnt wide enough. for your power id be running 235 minimum on the rear.
  18. with standard camber arms 17x8.5 +30 front 17x9.5 +38 rear u can go wider rims, but those widths are ideal for the biggest tyres ur gonna get under there. that will push the tyres right up against the pressed lip on the inside of the guard, might scrub, might not, depends on each car.
  19. new steering rack steering rack spacers modified knuckles 3 ways to increase angle. and also look into steering binding, angle is nothing if ur still binding.
  20. lol, nice alignment, my alignment for a bit was 30mm toe one side (front), and 30mm each side on the rear. that was after going through a tyre wall at mallala, went on to compete in the battles for the rest of the day too, thought the car felt a bit shit lol

  22. really, on 9's i wouldnt worry until ur getting below 205's, ive run 205/50's on a 9" before with no dramas, plenty of people run way more stretch regularly.
  23. are u guards rolled? 255's will be a bit tight on the GTT guards with that offset. nothing wrong with 225's on 9" rims, little bit of stretch but nothing too bad. buy them with the 225's, fit them, and skid on them. measure how much clearance u have, then go from there as to what size tyre u go. as i mentioned, if ur wanting to drift, the 235/45's are ur best bet, they are extremely common and are cheap as chips. they also fit well on the 9", tiny bit of stretch, enough to keep ur sidewalls fairly firm and to stop a lot of flex.
