  1. ur springs have sagged. get new suspension.
  2. dont mean to plug my semi-legitimate business, but imho that's still a bit steap. depends what brand, i mean u can pick up brand new 18" tyres from tyre places for $100ish each, cheap shit, but still. used tyre mart must be making some rediculous margin. for the record i dont make shit off my tyres, i just like to see fellow import drivers not getting ripped off from bigger companies like used tyre mart.
  3. get it out there man, opinions are what make forums worth coming too.
  4. and ruby, it might save lives, making it illegal to go outside ur house might save lives as well, but at what cost?
  5. my car is defectable, so is my mums, so is my dads, so is my brothers. guess who gets defected though? as much as i hate to see another import driver done for nothing, i'll laugh if u ever get ur car impounded because u had to give it a bit over 1/4 throttle to get into a gap in traffic, or simply u just accelerated like normal, except ur sports exhaust made it sound like u were putting ur foot down. everyone puts their foot down from time to time, the difference is you own a car which someone carries a grudge against, you're gonna cop it. not only that but ive heard time after time of people being pulled over, accused of stuff they havent done just because another dickhead has done something wrong around the same area, at around the same time, in a similar car.
  6. you have a mindset that no argument will change until you see a mate or urself done for hoon laws for something extremely trivial. what they are designed to do, and what they will be used for are 2 completely different things. technically the defect system is designed to keep unsafe cars off the road, instead it is a useful tool for police to crack down on target groups, one being imports.
  7. all these resources, all this bs, all this hype, just for something that creates less that 1% of the road toll.
  8. sounds like him, it's only his first one, so it was only a week.
  9. no issues with stretched tyres (to a certain extent). despite what ur tyre place says.
  10. lol my mate had his impounded the other day, what is it, 3 strikes?
  11. +15 and +22 would look tough, with stretched tyres and low car, but if ur just gonna sit at standard height and u wanna fit wide tyres, something like a +30 offset would work better.
  12. dish comes from distance between disk, and the outside of the barrel, this same distance determines the wheels clearance from the gaurd. if u just want clearance, go 6" wide with +40 offset. my point being u need to provide us with a bit more details, do u want the wheels to sit up near the guard? do u want wide tyres? etc etc
  13. 1: buy rego'd R31 rolling shell 2: put plates on good import skyline 3: do skids 4: get caught 5: hand in R31 on tow truck 6: ???? 7: profit.
  14. not really giving us a lot to go by, each hit will break different stuff, but generally most stuff will break in there, except the UCA, it's pretty sturdy and doesnt bend too easily. LCA: replace with standard if its clearly broken/bent, u can go an aftermarket solution, but its generally pretty exxy. Caster Rod: usually stand up to a hit unless directly hit as the bracket vv will usually fail first. either way, may as well replace it with an adjustable aftermarket solution as ur caster is thrown off very easily when the car gets knocked around a bit up front. CRB: pretty fragile things, but mainly bend when taking a front impact to the rad support, if it still lines up with your chassis and rad support, and isnt tightly sprung in place, chances are it isnt bent, even if it is slightly out, the adjutsment in ur new caster rods should dial out any problem. Tie rods: it depends on whether when u hit the car was jammed on lock either way, unless they are visably bent, leave them for now. If they are buggered there are a few aftermarket solutions out there that can help with bump steer. X-member: may be bent, and its hard to really know, leave it for now and see how the alignment goes. with the new parts in place, get it on the aligner, the camber will be the thing to watch, if the camber is still about the same, and if ur caster and toe can be adjusted back to where it should be, then ur in business. if ur camber is out, some adjustable UCA's are on the shopping list. i guess the only hidden danger is the dynamic behaviour if something is bent throwing the geometry out. ideally after this u wanna check the alignment at with ur suspension at different heights just to make sure. as far as brands go, cusco and ikeya formula are generally thought to be the high end, then a few other decent products, then the cheap stuff which is just generic stuff from china/taiwan which u should keep ur distance from.
  15. i beleive ur looking for.

  23. nah ur right, it wasnt worded properly, its not an issue about having the balls to speak out, often its just a calculated decision to not say anything, a smart decision really all things considered.
  24. no better way to learn a car's limits than by taking it past them regularly lol
