  1. i beleive the government offered some support for the supposed track, but then bob jane put up his hand and said no ill make AIR good, give me all the $$ something a long those lines at least, someone should be able to confirm/correct me.
  2. time to dust off the ol' time machine.
  3. they might just fit, standard is 6.5 +40, go around a 205-215/45 and u should be ok, will look like aids tho.
  4. lol fair enough, was looking at ur av and thinking "mm that doesnt look overly stock" haha
  5. this is true, but the boat like handling of the commie also makes it a lot more forgiving, meaning it is less likely to snap into an out of control situation like a car with really stiff suspension, there is more warning with forgiving suspension. for a car that isnt meant to be driven to the limits and beyond all the time, the softer suspension is more ideal, saying that it means when it does get into a bit of strife it wont be as easy to control.
  6. i wouldnt be so sure, a lot of the cheaper coilovers, especially jap spec ones ive seen, and especially when they drop the car really low, i would say they are at a point where they hinder performance, they make the car more predictable beyond the tyre limits, but on a lot of roads the firmness reduces traction and can make the car less predictable within the tyre limits. saying that, most standard suspension, especially the shocks die over time, my R31 has f**ked shocks and the thing is a death trap lol, rides lower than my 32 and it still has standard suspension, just f**ked, but id never get a 2nd look from a cop. also ted, u have to understand, cops dont think like u and i, they think a standard car is perfect, anything that makes the car less safe is obviously a problem, but anything that makes the car handle better, stop faster, or have more traction means that ur hooning. like ive said before, ive been defected before for tyres being too wide (225's, standard is 205), when i asked what the problem with increasing the traction of the vehicle the officer replied "improving ur car tells me that ur hooning the car" that was after me intially telling him that the tyre size was actually quite legal and that id been through regency with 225 tyres before.
  7. lol the thing is, a standard skyline straight from Japan will generally not pass regency even after compliance, i know when mine came over i had a few pages of stuff that regency wouldnt allow, generally speaking the mods are the easiest part.
  8. setup looks fine for drift, neutons are a good beginner tyre for drift, widely used by rookies in competition etc.
  9. imports have been the flavour of the decade.
  10. yeh but they dont illegaly drift on the streets as well.
  11. this doesnt look 100% stock to me: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...kw-t219645.html :S
  12. yeh, let's help the police, god knows how helpful they are to skylines in theory it sounds good, help the police and they will help us, but it will just never happen.
  13. grow some testicles?
  14. haha its in the 1st and 2nd post man.
  15. get rid of them? lol was thinking u could probs wrap the lines in some insulation so they didnt stick out, that or some high temp tape etc.
  16. lol oh was that u? fark i didnt know u worked there, i heard something just as i went past you, but obviously wasnt paying enough attention.
  17. u might not be, but i know for a fact he is pretty happy.
  18. yeh mate, still RB20, unfortunately i was having a boostcontroller issue that day and was running just standard boost, so around 160rwkw, it should be running a touch over 180rwkw. also the tyres i was running were very warn RE070's, so fark all traction and couldnt hold a lot of corner speed and out of some of those corners id get bogged down in 3rd. im hoping with decent tyres i should be able to hold a bit more corner speed and be closer to the power band on the exit. aiming for something in the lower part of 1:20's with the 180rwkw and decent tyres.
  19. G1 Extreme Drift: my first proper circuit track day where the car wasnt being a whore:
  20. just a reminder, if u want any advice resembling acurate u need to provide tyre sizes, knowing just the wheel specs is useless.
  21. pretty sure the lines arent illegal but they will lead the inspectors to check ur turbo.
  22. my old man knows how much we get picked on, he just keeps saying oh they are just cracking down on u because ur a high risk group, which is fair enough if u look at it that generally, but realistically there are so many incosistancies with how they work, it just holds no credability any more.
  23. now now, its all in the interest of road safety, who cares if it held one or more officers up for 10+ minutes while they went over ur car and did paper work instead of breath testing 10's of potential drink drivers, they got a car with a BOV off the road, i know i can sure as hell sleep sound tonight knowing that.
  24. for the track my car runs 3" dump with screamer, de-cat, and straight through exhaust. i may or may not be running this setup on the street atm eh, its not unsafe and i dont drive like an idiot, im still quiter potting around in my car then a bus or motorbike anyway.
