Hi. Im registering my car tomorrow and dont know whether to get custom plates or not. I have always liked the idea of them but are they too much of a wank factor or i guess it depends on what you get hey? Does anyone that has custom plates find that they draw too much attention the their car as I dont really want too much attention. Also please post if you have custom plates and what they say cheers Luke

Opinions - R33 Gts-t Rolling Shell - Whats It Worth?
FSTR32 replied to Got Boost?'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
I bought my R32 gtst 1992 M spec for 5g's and it had custom paint, gtr kit and everything else was standard. -
fuel pump wiring...probly the grounding wire. you must have bumped it when fiddling in the boot. check to see where the pumps earthed to. Exact same thing happened to me where the pump wasnt priming. went to start next morning after i had grounded the wire properly and it was fine. Definately a pump issue tho. no way it would be pfc or afm's.
-
cheers. doesnt have them on the website but i sent freddy an email...thanks alot
-
ok pumped it is. i want em like gtr guards both for looks and so i can put a wider tyre on. got a contact/website for this drift garage?
-
thinking of flaring my guards gtr style (i have an r32 gtst) as i think it would look pretty trick (no im not trying to be a gtr although id probly beat most lol hehehe) anyway thats beside the point. I am worried about cracking the paint. Anybody know the best place to go in the sydney area. Money isnt an issue...i just want a good job done. Paint is fairly new so thats why im worried about it. anybody know how far the r32 gtr guards are flared out so i can use them as a basis as to how far i will put mine out? Say the paint does crack..would it be expensive to get it fixed up? thanks guys

Need Help Asap - Locked Ignition Barrel!
FSTR32 posted a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hi guys as the topic suggests, i need help urgently. I just got home and turned car off...took keys out the usual way (turn key to off and push the black button to release keys. then i realised my wheels were'nt straight so i turned the steering wheel and it locked it self which is normal but then i went to put keys back in and they wont turn at all. Is there a special way to release this lock on the ignition barrel. I have tried pushing the button, jiggling the key around, trying both sides of key and using extreme force to try and turn key all to no avail. PLEASE HELP!!! thanks heaps -

Weird Engine Sound On Neo...need Advice
FSTR32 replied to R33Turbo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
is it like a whirring noise that sounds like a fan cos if it does it would be the viscus fan...sometimes on the neo (happened to mine) the coupling gets jammed which means the fan stays on when accelarating. its the most annoyin sound. it kind of stops when you give it a boot up towards red line but yeh..im not sure cos your description is a bit hazy. -
Nothing wrong with microtec unless you have a retard tuning it. the early model microtecs arnt the best i agree and they are very limited in features/inputs etc but if you have a great tuner like i do (UAS - free plug haha) you can make anything work well. Probly the best microtec is the LT12s. Great for variable cam timing aswell apparently. If you want over kill and have deep pockets go for motec but i dont see what all the fuss is about...so what if its got bells and whistles..will you ever use them? Ive heard only good things about autronic aswell
-
trying to find out about VVT. did a search but didnt find what i wanted to know. Basically i know it stands for variable valve timing but what exactly does it do?....how does it do it? and what are the positives and negatives of it? I am talking in relation to the rb25det neo thanks in adance
-
like its been said above..check wiring especially grounding wire as they can come lose quite easily if someone has fiddled with it in the past. Happened to me the other day. grounded it properly and the pump started priming again. maybe something to do with pumps but i doubt 2 decent pumps would fail on you until they arnt installed correctly. my 2c

Hey guys. Just doing a little topic to see what ECU everybody currently has in their car, plus the turbo, boost and power output. I know this is covered in the stickies but i just wanted some fresh results Also what does everyone think is the best street friendly/tune friendly/wallet friendly ECU on the market currently and why. Accurate feedback would be much appreciated as i begin the hunt for my new ECU
-
problem solved. pump wasnt priming so i thought it must have something to do with fuel as i had spark and compression. took hose off fuel rail and attatched a bottle to the hose. cranking the car and not alot of fuel came out. sat there for a minute or 2 and went to check pump wires in boot. ground wire was a little lose so i tightened it up and the pump came on and primed and spat a whole lot of fuel into the bottle (probly 500mls worth)...reattched hose to fuel rail and cranked car and it start so im thinking it was the grounding wire and possibly a blocked line...not 100% sure buts its fixed thank god thanks for the help guys

where is the fuel pump fuse located in an r32 gtst thanks?
-
ok auto elec didnt wanna touch it so im back to square one. im starting to think that its something to do with the fuel pump as it doesnt prime itself since the car hasnt been starting. I check plugs and they are fine but there is no fuel smell coming from cylinders but i definatly smelled unburnt fuel after the car was cranking last nyt. What do you guys think? anyway of knowing if its the fuel pump?
-
nah dont have those options. dont have hand contoller or tune selector. Yeh i left it 30 mins between tries each try was 3 or 4 attempts of kicking it over. dont know what else to do
-
thanks guys we will see what the auto elec has to say 2morrow
-
yeh i hav a microtech. what do you mean by flooded the engine?is that bad???
-
nah its definatly getting fuel as i can smell it when im trying to kick engine over. im pretty confident i have spark aswell. new plugs plus splitfires were put in last week. im thinking it has to be something to do with wiring or relay box as the car was running sweet a few hours ago.
