  1. I'm very curious about this as well. I know ARC make a kit which is turn-flow, but both that and the blitz LM one cost well over 1k....which is a bit much for a FMIC
  2. Apples and Oranges my friends....R-Spec is right in saying over a long drive an SS is probably more comfortable than a jap car....but hey, this is SAU and we love 'em. I really hope the weather on Sunday is like its looking outside atm...perfect Feeling pumped now! Will be my first SAU cruise
  3. Alright i'll confirm that I'll be coming along with some mates. We'll meet you at Anglesea. Lol i can't wait to see the look on people's faces there (generally a very quiet town) when we all pull up
  4. Funnily enough a few of my mates and I were thinking of heading down to anglesea next w/e for a cruise along GOR lol. Seeing as I have a place down there we'll be staying sat night so theres a possibility we'll probably come meet up with you guys there. Is it meeting at torquay or anglesea?
  5. Gauges were off ebay (Autogauge smoke series). Got them for $150 delivered for the three of them.
  6. Hey mate sorry for slow reply, been away for a bit. I actually just ran my tubing through the drivers side door, e.g. not actually through the firewall as I couldn't find a way to get it through. I'll try to get a photo of what I mean soon.

    R34s...please!

    Looks nice mate!
  8. Thanks guys. The funny thing is it really wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I highly recommend giving it a go if you are thinking about it.
  9. Slow reply but yes I did, purchased it from Just Jap, was about $30. You'll need a new oil filter as well though if you are going to do it. My advice would also be to attach the sensors and extend the wires to them before fitting the new filter/sandwich plate, makes things much much easier when hooking up the gauge

    R34s...please!

Here are some pics I took a few weeks back after a polish and wax. All I can say is....goddamn black looks nice after a good clean. Shame it doesnt stay clean for long though haha. Pics have my mate's TT soarer in them too....havent have time to shoot the 34 by itself yet. Have since changed the parkers to white...looks heaps better. Last shot is of the autogauges I replaced the stock triple cluster gauges with.
  11. Hey mate, wondering if you have the split dump/front for the R34 GTT available yet?
  12. The 34 I picked up is way too loud for my liking, really bad drone too. After reading this I'm thinking I might change it to a Fujitsubo Legalis as it seems to be getting good reviews from everyone. However, I've heard good things about the XForce Varex mufflers with the exhaust control valves. Can anyone shed light on these?
  13. Black for sure...just gave my 34 a good polish and wax on the w/e and damn it looks good. Hard to keep clean but worth it when you do!
  14. I used 52mm gauges. I've seen this done with 60mm Saber gauges, there was an article in Hot 4s on how to do it, but they stick out of the cluster and require the openings to be cut back a little to fit. I opted for the 52mm gauges as I wanted to keep them behind the glass, looks more professional IMO.
  15. Hey guys, I installed some gauges into the triple gauge cluster of my R34 GT-T a few weeks back, finally got around to taking some proper pics for those interested in how it looks. I got the gauges off Ebay, they are Autogauge brand, smoke series (left to right water temp, oil temp and boost). They work really well and look so much better than the stock ones. The installation wasnt that hard, took me a couple of hours all up. This is what I did for those who may want to try. 1. Remove aircon vents (simply use a flathead screwdriver to pop them out gently, no screws need to be undone). (note: i didnt unplug the aircon, i just worked around it) 2. Remove screws holding in cluster and unplug the adaptor plug going into the back of the stock gauges. 3. As you will see, the stock unit is actually a single piece. I disassembled this unit and removed the gauge unit from its casing/holder 4. I retained the stock holder with the glass and mounted the three gauges within the original using some liquid nails and silicon to hold them in place. This was probably the hardest part as you have to be careful not to make a mess of everything. 5. I used a multimeter to figure out which of the wires going into the stock adaptor were for lights, ignition and ground and then cut said wires, splicing them together with their respective counterparts from the gauges. 6. I extended the green wires for the temperature senders (oil temp and water temp) and ran them down through the dash to the drivers side footwell along with some 4mm PVC tubing for the boost gauge which I got from Bunnings. I could not find a suitable firewall to get these through to the engine bay so I ran them around through the drivers side door (It actually doesnt look that bad, I covered them with electrical tape, not noticeable at all). 7. I tested and reassembled the unit and grounded the gauges to a bolt from the aircon. Make sure the gauges are aligned properly before putting everything back together!! The finished product: (they look awesome at night...heaps better than the stock ones!)
  16. I replaced my stock gauges with 3 autogauge smoke series gauges a few weeks ago. Took me a few hours to get everything done including wiring, wasnt really that difficult if you arent scared to fiddle around with the wiring. I'll try to take some pics of what it looks like and get them up.
  17. I got one the other day, going to put it in this w/e and see how it goes. I'll post up how it turns out
  18. bump...anyone?
  19. Hi, just got some autogauges, including the electrical water temp one. After searching i've learnt that to fit the sender, an adaptor needs to be fitted to the top radiator hose going from the block to the radiator (is this right?) 1. Has anyone got a pic of this done on an R34 (or a 33 if its the same size fittings)? 2. Will this adaptor work? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Water-temp-gauge-ra...1QQcmdZViewItem And just another question about the oil temp sender and sandwich plate; 3. If I only plug in an oil temp sender, do i need to block the other sender hole (for oil pressure) off? Sorry if these are stupid questions.
  20. very nice! I think DEFIs might be a bit out of my budget atm Im thinking a set of 60mm saber ones would do the trick nicely. Or maybe 52mm autogauge ones if i decide to be cheap. Can anyone vouch for the accuracy of the autogauge ones? or is it definitely worth paying almost double to get a set of saber ones?
  21. old thread i know, but any chances of getting the pics back up?
  22. Im pretty sure that photo is a promo shot from the blitz website as they have a very similar one up there now but with blue lit gauges. So probably not an R34 gauge cluster. Blitz gauges are pretty pricey as well, looking around $200 a gauge i think.
  23. Thanks Yo-Yo, they look pretty good. I was keen on getting the 60mm saber gauges but just not sure how they would look fitted in there as compared to the 52mm ones. Anyone got pics of 60mm gauges fitted in the cluster? EDIT: My bad saw some of the pics above of the DEFIs installed and im guessing they are 60mm ones. They look a bit funny sticking out of the cluster though...
  24. Damn they look hot! Would they be 52mm or 60mm gauges? Hard to tell if they are flush or sitting out from the pics (a bit dark). Getting a 34GT-T this week, thinking I might try this as one of my first projects over the next month
