  1. Isn't Andrew at E&M Motors in NSW? He complied a S8 RX7 for me a few years back - very professional, courteous and unlike many others - he wasn't tempted to load the invoice up with all sorts of unnecessary fees. I'd recommend him highly.
  2. nah that's OK guys, just chat amongst yourselves...lol David - PM sent.
  3. sorry peoples - car is located in hobart
  4. Have had this thing sitting around for a few years now, only realised due to a recent clean out. Was originally sold at $650 but realised that it was not a perfect fit for the car, so refunded customer. So PLEASE NOTE, minor fitting / adjustment is required. However, this is par for the course with so many aftermarket bodykits you'll buy nowadays. Unless you buy a genuine (expensive) Jap product, alterations are not that uncommon, and at least you can check it out here in Hobart. Asking $350 for the whole thing - front, sides and rear. If interested, PM me here. I can probably arrange fitting and spraying if required too.
  5. 1990 R32 GTR Shell - completely stripped - non rolling, minor LHR quarter and bootlid damage. Compliable under 15 year rule, not a RAWS car. $3000 pick up neg. Don't have better photos than the one I have posted (shows the GTR sitting behind a 90 model ZX TT I am also stripping out ATM) - will get better photos during the week.
  6. Very good condition - pick up in Bris CBD for $230, or freight anywhere for extra $35.
  7. you wan*er - that's $50 PLUS FREIGHT. How much to freight from WA? At least $20 - prob $30. Anyway - have two offers at $90-95 anyway, good luck spending another couple of months searching. you may get a car on the road soon - reckon it will have depreciated by more than that $20 tho....
  8. as can I....
  9. if you can find any other GTR headlight as cheap as $70, I'll do mine for $50. otherwise $90 it is. no offers. I'll just bin it. not hard up for cash, just need to clean the decks of spare parts.... helious - pm sent
  10. hi mate - if you are interested in 4 door, then I'd trade my 32 NA for your Audi. Send me a PM if you are interested in 4 door, if not, GL with the sale / trade.
  11. do you have an objection to godzila's car? don't like black? klms too high? price too much? try carsales - vehicle ID 5229445 but I think you'll find, as godzila has pointed out - that for the right mix of mileage and condition, you'll be looking at $50K plus.
  12. Yes we do seem to be burying this for sale thread, and let us not damage the sale here. Toyos - your mechanical knowledge of the 32 may be correct (probably is). That notwithstanding, the pertinent issue is whether or not the car is complied by RAWS workshops for circa $2700 (plus plus). I believe it is. In fact, we all probably agree on this point. For prospective buyers (and I wait in the wings), the costs are more likely circa $3500 - that is, $2700 plus GST plus tyres, plus any other minor mechanicals that may get picked up. Femno - two points. Your application to have a car complied by another agent is different to these circumstances. I - like you - had to have a couple of cars re-complied in this manner (i.e a pre-RAWS imported car to be complied under RAWS scheme). The difference is the first approval was issued in the individuals name, and the buyer was at liberty to choose workshops. Many of the workshops (pre-RAWS...what were they called....CPA's or something?) were / are no longer in existence, in which case the 'owner' has legitimate grounds to request (require!) such a transfer. Now, when changing from a RAWS to a RAWS, the approval is issued in the workshops name (as you will know), and hence requesting of DOTARS for such a transfer is 'risky' if on the grounds that ...'oh, i bought from some guy who...' (i.e if there is not a truly legitimate reason). Again, as you have stated, the original RAWS must be involved (to consent to the transfer), and they themselves may not consent, or may impose a fee, etc it is for this reason that I have suggested the seller needs to clarify these matters, rather than having everyone else speculate. this can be by PM or by post, but is best for the seller to do. Likewise, I think the same goes for having the seller explain how the sale would / could occur - this is more effective and more considerate than having countless individuals contact DOTARS for these details. Once I have clarification on the status of the car, and my earlier questions, I will be in a place to make an offer. I note that the seller says that his GF does not like the car, but on Ebay he is also selling an FTO, belonging to same girlfriend. ?? I hope I'm not making his life any harder than she already is.....? Cool banana - can you answer these questions please? I'll then contact you by PM to go from there...
  13. I thought there were a few RAWS with pre-92 compliance capability, most of whom set price at around $2700 (plus GST plus tyres mind you...). Question is - as this is normally imported via the RAWS themselves - who is the actual compliance agent who has applied to import this car, are they aware that the car is changing hands, and have they already inspected the car (in other words, have they blacklisted this with DOTARS so that it cannot be registered). Seller needs to advise whom the compliance agent is - as you can't 'choose your own' after you import the car....
  14. haha yeah sure. mate I'm telling you from far more experience in these things, that you and the undercut crew, who think it's possible to undershoot on prices when restoring cars, if only you had any idea on the costs that start to mount up. your chair at $40 is likely to be filth, but if you actually want to find these sorts of parts, get em to your door, get em fitted (etc etc) such as the engine for $3500 (lol at that one) then i'm telling you no way. or perhaps you should buy it. get a killer track car for $9k. I think I'd be paying $13K. but I'm happy to buy if the price is negotiable. stop telling people what a bargain it is - and prove it to us - just buy the thing! Oh, wait, that's one of those other complexities when selling a car...finding someone who lives less than 3000 klms away, who not only says that they want to buy it (this forum is riddled with such grandiose statements) but has the means and intent to buy it....and all the other little ducks in a row. for someone from WA you seemingly have an avid interest in this car - so far as to say you should contemplate buying it, prepping it and on-selling it. could be a killer investment. it is what it is, ok? a great car which can't be complied or registered. needs a very expensive engine fitted. needs bodywork. needs trim. needs one heck of a lot of TLC. but it has potential. the seller PM'd me yesterday, to which I have replied, so I'll await his feedback. I'm not trying to knock his thread, but every time someone such as yourself posts details which I think may be misleading to other forum members who do not know the finer details, I feel strangely compelled to respond and help illuminate the situation. may be better you don't post any more budgeting info, as it doesn't help chris sell his car. focus on it's potential, but don't gloss over the prices, especially to the detriment of others. peace guys...
  15. ...don't know of too many mechanics who - at circa $80 per hour - won't want less than $1200-1500 for an engine in/out job. Then you have to find a replacement engine (including freight) for $2K - given most people with rooted RB26DETTs are still silly enough to think that they're worth that - no way you're gonna get a good one for $2K at your door. (costs for service and tune ?????) front bar can be sourced, fitted and painted for $800 for sure....but not the rest of the car. And given the reference to the large dent in the rear 1/4, no way you'll fix and spray the car for a 1/4 of that....but hey, if you only want it for track work....front bar will do fine. I guess then we're forgetting track work is a b*tch when there is no seat (not to mention luxuries like a gearshift, etc) - but even more difficult unless you have a car and a trailer to tow it with - after all, it can't be street registered, only a track car. But you still have to get it into your name....so how do you take legal title (where stamp duty is payable)...I ain't too sure on this myself. In fact - can anyone answer this for me - how can one take legal title of this without registering? I guess it must be sold as some sort of 'asset' but not as a car. This just does my head in.... At the asking of $6500 plus your numbers plus tweaking for reality I'd still get closer to $13K. With ALL the compromises. Unless of course the asking price is reduced, which is why.... PM SENT!
  16. hey buddy - coupes and sedans, or 2 door only? any colour? what's the budget?
  17. no sold sorry - only lights and odometers people
  18. check my post - $5500 for R32 5spd sedan and with a VGC engine. freight / compliance to NSW standards would be extra though - probably cost you $8000 on road inc your rego and stamp duty etc
  19. bump - for those asking - car is in HOBART, TAS. Freight to melb $440, adelaide $760, sydney $770
