  1. how much? How many K's? who built it? Cheers, Todd
  2. I would suggest to have the air fuel ratios check and adjusted if needed. I am guessing that additional flow could require/use a little more fuel but don't mind being corrected!
  3. Ha Ha Ha, glad to be of service! First time I have heard that! But I guess we all have to start somewhere and from reading all the posts from the extremely knowledgeable I will always feel like a beginer (although I have been doing this for a few years now as a hobby!) I like to be able to assist and teach from where others have tought and assisted me! We BOTH have a long way to go my friend but shout out if you have any further problems!
  4. You will need to remove some of these upper pipes to get access to the hose... Hope that helps, feel free to ask if you still need clarification.
  5. That's it mate! You COULD just cut the hose and fit it in between but when I installed it on my R32 GTS-t, I replaced the hose with longer ones to enable me to mount it away from the turbo to somewhere accessable. This will also stop you burning your fingers off while adjusting the boost. You will probably need to remove a few pipes to be able to access the actuator + turob and fit a hose clamp! Hope that helps! These are really good controllers and I have even considered going back to it from my EBC.
  6. so i am looking for a split dump with about 30cm seperation?
  7. how about a screamer? even better again? Is it really too loud for street use?
  8. Obviously I don't know that much about turbos however the compressor housing is a lot smaller... still could be laggy though. I am getting used to mine now and have booked it in for a checkup tomorrow to find the problem (have been told it sounds like the gasket as expected!) Not any good for drifting or stop and start but top end power is huge! Probably give it a bit just for the love and see if I get sick of it...
  9. I believe it came off an RB25 and was then hiflowed... Yeah, I noticed that the exhaust wheel was pretty friggin big!! Can't believe they fit it in! Will be nice to see how it goes if it indeed is the gasket. I will get a pro opinion and update. Is there a best place to get the gasket? How much should I expect to pay? (Standard t3 I am guessing?)
  10. I didn't change it because it looked fine... didn't even goop it when I had it right there... I am a silly boy!
  11. Machine! Thanks a lot for that paul! Just for those interested... Apexi RB25 PowerFC on RB20 To run the RB25 PowerFC you need to swap injector triggers for cylinders 5 and 6. You also need to run larger than rb20 injectors. You should be able to swap to Rb26 440cc injectors without much fuss and this should work, providing you dial in the correct injector latency and correction. Apexi RB26 PowerFC on RB20 The traditional Ap Engineering RB20 model is in fact and RB26 model remapped to suit the RB20 loom and sensors. The main differences between the two is Airflow meter and 02 sensors. The RB26 having two, and the RB20 having one of each. Two AFM: If you are using two airflow meters you will need to run wiring for the second airflow meter manually as the RB20 loom only has support for one airflow meter. One AFM: If you are using one airflow meter you can simply parrallel up the airflow meter signal into the second input on the RB26 ecu. The ECU will average out both signals despite it coming from the same airflow meter to work out engine load (or airflow load).
  12. Have just had another look at it tonight. The wastegate is definatly closing all the way (I can hear in when I pull the actuator arm manually). When revving it in the garage, the ticking sound (only way I can think to describe it, kinda sounds like a big 308 - almost sounds like it is running rough, but it isn't). I am pretty sure it is going to be the gasket between the manifold and the turbo leaking somehow as that is where the sound seems to be coming from (stuck a bit of tube to my ear and then around the turbo area to get a presise area where it was)... I tried to tighten it but really wasn't able to get any more out of the bolts. I think I will run it past one of the performance mechanics down here and see what they think! Not looking forward to having to take it off again but will have no choice if that is the case. Might take it out and sell it to get something a little less laggy. Can anyone tell me what the symtoms of a leaking turbo gasket are? sound I am guessing but what else? Will I be losing responce / power? Cough a little when streching out? Thanks for all the suggestions and comments guys, it all helps and is much appreciated! Todd
  13. Thanks Paul!
  14. I have been looking for a thread about this but can't find anything... Are you able to point me in the right direction?
  15. I don't think it is but I will have it checked... Shaft play was pretty much not there and less than my stock turbo and that was perfect.
  16. hmmmm, will have to keep an eye out I think... Starting to blow the budget! Friggin AP engineering
  17. will check tomorrow night... I have a feeling I might have been too careful not to snap a bolt off!
  18. ohhh, so now we are talking about $1900 tuned? starting to get a little unreasonable if that is the case...
  19. under a grand new with controller sounds good to me, then say $200 for initial tune... then about $150-200 for following tunes... much cheaper then over $500 for every tune! I would say $700 second hand with controller would be fair then!
  20. Hi Guys, I am sorry if this has been covered. I did search but could not find what I am after, feel free to point me in the correct direction. I have recently had a chip/remap and dyno tune of my facotry ECU by Dr Drift. I was happy with the result however I live away from him and as I continue to modify my car I don't see the benifit in paying at LEAST $500 to travel with my car to him to have it retuned when I could have at dyno tuned locally if I were to have a PFC and could have it done as the mods progress... The PFC seems to be the number once choice for the Skyline and is comonly tuned by most places so I think I will stick with it. The main questions that I have are; How much am I able to get one for new and where from? How cheap could I get one for second hand... with or without hand controller? ANY input would be greatly appreciated! Cheers guys, Todd
  21. I am looking at getting one myself... This is what I have at the moment, I am guessing it is stock?
  22. BTW: the turbo has a fast ticking noise down low (even when revving while stationary) and then once it hits boost, it has a real high pitched whur/scream - almost sounds electronic) I am just putting this down to larger wheels, larger turbo... Any suggestions? I am going to take it to some mates that know their stuff and see what they think...
  23. Not as fun as a responsive turbo! I hate not being able to stab it in third and get thrown back!! I hate not being able to put my foot down in second coming out of a corner and get the back end out!!! I hate lag!!!! Unless there is something wrong that I can fix, its coming out!
  24. Thanks for the input dude, I did check whe I hooked it up but may be something to look at (plus I can get to it while it is in there). I am also going to check for boost leaks because I have a feeling that may have something to do with it... Cheers, Todd
