Don't get me wrong I don't think he believes they are 'good' turbos but they are good for the money and compared to others he has had personal experence with, they have been of a higher quality! - I don't want to speak for him when I know so little on the subject but I can only relay what I understand he said. So what would I be looking at for an R33 series 2 turbo? And how do I tell the difference between that and a series one? Also, how much would I expect to get an R34 turbo for? And what kind of power could I get from either of them?? Damn, choices choices... Thanks for your help!

OK, so the VG turbo isn't a worthwhle option! However either is a $1000+ turbo for me! Surly there is a good, cheap, second-hand obtainable turbo that is capable of 200rwkw!! Dr Drift suggested a T70... might look at one of those! Everyone has their opinion and I am happy to hear them but I don't really dig hear-say. If you have done it then you are able to bag it out (like cubes - thanks for your input) otherwise don't bother... Saying this, Dr Drift said to me the XSPOWER T70 (this particular model) has proven to be a good quality and good value upgrade! For $600 ish, I think it would be good... reasonably laggy but not too bad and would make the power I want!

thinking about just getting a rebuilt VG30 turbo... any comments on this? Should easily get me to my 200rwkw mark and will be under $500!

hmmm, might just look for an R33 Turbo with steel wheels! - I have a stock RB20 turbo at the moment

Hey Guys, I am looking at upgrading my stock turbo on my R32 GTS-t cheaply! I have looked at R33 turbos but I am considering a Toyota CT26 from an SW20 MR2 or M70 Supra. The reason being from what I am aware of, it will give me more power than the RB25 turbo. (Rated at about 330hp I believe) which should get me to my 200rwkw benchmark with little to no lag!! I think I should be safe running 15-17PSI. Anybody done it before or can anyone shed some light on the subject? P.S my other mods are... Welcome Paul! I think the numbers are getting up a bit in the Tassie section so it would be good to have a meet / cruise! Might leave that up to the GrandMaster himself otherwise I will try and sort something out! You should post up some pics of your car when you get a chance! - That makes me think we should have a who's who section in the Tassie forum! how many k's does the r32 cluster have?

looks like you should have had your car tuned when dr drift came down. I believe you can send him your ECU and he will remap it without tuning it... will be alot better but not as good as a full dyno tune. Plus it removes boost and speed cut... (and rev limiter if you so wish but not reccomended!) My Air Fuel ratios are spot on now too and am getting a lot more k's for my $$ - will pay for itself in the end!

yeah, can't wait!! I was a little dissapointed with 135 but really isn't too bad on 13psi (plus the fuel ratios are are on the knocker now and I gained about 20kw throughout the rev range!) but I am running 14-15psi now but hey, I am getting a new turbo How much should I expect to find an R33 turbo with steel wheels for?

Thanks Stu, is something to consider but was trying to avoud spending over the 500 mark... looks like I will be wasting my money if I dont! I ended up getting 135rwkw after my tune on 13psi. (POD, FMIC, 3" Ex) I just have to get a new turbo and fit everything (GTR Injectors, z32 AFM, High-mount manifold and screamer pipe) and I will take a trip to Vic to visit Sam for a retune! Can't wait but if I am forking out $800 for the turbo I will be waiting a little longer! Anyone want to buy a go-kart?

That would be for a pair would it not?

Thanks mate, I can't find anythng concrete so I though someone may have done it... I really need to have it and installed by Friday befor Dr Drift comes down (to Tassie) so I figure making one may be quicker than finding one and getting it here! (And a lot cheaper).

Thanks GMB, I do actually have that already but what I am after is the resistor pack! I am told you can just make them but not sure what I need and how to package it... Do you know anywhere I could get one locally?? Todd
