  1. ido09s..do you work at advan? =)
  2. Thanks Blitz, no worries with the edit. I'm sure if anyone wants more info they will pm me. The Block and head are at ADVAN now. Will be fitted with CP 87mm pistons and new rods. So far ADVAN have been extremmely helpfull.
  3. The engine lasted 300km. Side load was magnified by my rods being bent from the siezed pin. The shop sent me packing with only an oil leak warrenty after trying to over charge me. The response was, "you didn't get a written quote so I can charge what I like" I am letting the authorities assist me in the right process for compensation.
  4. No worries leigh, I'm also glad to report .0025" piston to wall/bore didn't cause any issues either
  5. 100% assembly unfortunately
  6. The spiral locks didn't cause the failure. The gudgeon pin as I said was not floating on the rod causing the spiral locks be to simply smashed out. I also have 2 bent rods.... the spiral lock on number six was a bee's arse from coming all the way out also. The gudgeon pin should fit into rod with only palm force and slide along the length....these are all rock soild.
  7. Here are some more pix. The gudgeon pins were all siezed to the rods instead of being floating like they are supposed to be. The failure was not due to any fault in the piston but the stupidity of the engine builder. Edited by Blitz Sorry to hear about your woes Matt, but for legal reasons we cant allow businesses to be slandered on this forum, justified or not
  8. here r the pics. There are very light lines on the torque side aswell, not sure if that is normal..
  9. 1500kg, 5 puk, single plate with modified fulcrum for a light pedal. Prefer Kevlar but brass button still ok(slighly more shudder)
  10. Yes, The gudgeon pin on number 3 has come out the side of the piston an scored the bore quite badly. Number 6 also has a 1mm line down it. The pistons are still in the bottom end at this stage. It will be interesting to find out if the circlip was installed, failed or forgotten. If the later is the case I will post up the workshops name. I have taken a stack of pix, just need to find my USB cable. Matty PS. I'm most likely going with CP pistons if I can find a cheap supplier. If not ARIAS are my number 2.
  11. lol, the paint will last about 2.3 minutes along with the turbine wheel !!, also interested in the exhaust housing. Offer $50
  12. They quote 3-4thou give +/- .5 on the attached specs .010 seems huge
  13. I have a couple of caps, in silver
  14. Just had a good chat to the guys At ADVAN. They said 2.5thou clearence was fine. Venolia were crap, Arias are good with the iron rings as the bed quicker. Don't use the 1.5mm restrictor in the block as it causes the cams to sieze unless the N1 oil pump is used, Use a semi syn for run-in and half throttle to 4000rpm over 500KM. Compression is best around 8.5-8.7 The head is coming off on Sunday, pix to come.
  15. I also have the LM-1 I bought It from www.c-f-m.com who have free shipping atm $429 US $518 AUS to my door.
  16. Can u guys tell me much about the N1 blocks, just jap have one for $3500. Do the normally come with pistons etc? Also any info on N1 pistons regarding strengh, price etc?
  17. GTR pistons have cooling oil channels under the piston crown, GTST do Not. B33st- No. 3 is 100psi the rest are 155psi. A teaspoon of oil brings No. 3 up to 155psi.....so looks like definate piston/bore or ring issue unfortunately. The head is coming off this weekendish.
  18. They quote 3-4thou give +/- .5
  19. 2.5thou clearance. My thoughts are similar Mik
  20. Will let you know when I do. Tell me more about this fault ?
  21. not sure what the cause is yet. The car was running 0.4bar and rich. The failure seems to be heat related tho as it was on my first 30min+ long drive. Don't you hate it when the machine shop decides to use closer clearances then you asked for and then you get the "warrenty covers oil leaks only mate"
  22. No. 3 piston is reading 30psi down and is majorly oil soaked. Will let you know were the failure is on inspection/pull down. =*(
  23. Greddy, pm me a price on a 415-N001 R33 GTR PFC Pro and commander. Have money waiting if numbers need to be made up.
  24. Hey buddy, I was after a commander. I have a PFC that says "FC Pro" and "PFC RB26 9605-0058 on the side. It is for a R33 GTR. I tried my GTST commander but it froze on the first screen. I'm not sure what model it is, Fatz's PFC says GTR33D on the side for his D'jetro version. I think mine is just the pro version....(rev and launch control) Any help on getting the commander to suiyt would be awesome.
  25. Thanks pete, it that all thats on the side....no FC Pro sticker?
