  1. If you use another turbo with a steel turbine wheel, the increase in rotating mass will require a smaller exhaust outlet size for similar boost response. This will directly cause increased restriction and power loss. Would probably be a better option on a 3ltr however. as my turbo would almost certainly boost to early and surge due to increase capacity. Also different A/R exhuast's will cause a change in spoolup time which will need to be compensated for at the turbine side. Big can of worms... that why it is so much simpler to go with a proven setup. I had 7 goes at mine. HKS on the other hand.......well you get what you pay for.
  2. Ninobrown is selling a 90% completed item.
  3. Full boost by 3250rpm is very usable. 30psi however....not sure the 2530's are still efficient at that boost. You will probably find they won't make anymore power after 25-26psi.
  4. OK here it is the final product/s RB25 BB turbo Vg30 exhuast housing T04B vtrim Compressor Standard ceramic turbine wheel Turbine snout enlarged to 52.2mm result 15psi by 4100rpm spool starts @2000rpm goes nuts @ 3600(hello tyre fry) Result 266rwkw @ 17psi Or Less power Quicker response Same specs as above with groove in inlet (same as standard rb25 inlet)(reduces compressor efficiency) Turbine Snout 51mm 15psi by 3800rpm spool @ 1800rpm no sledge hammer effect like above just smooth till 3800rpm result 245rwkw @ 10-15psi will not make more power with boost increase # Please note these specs bring the turbo right next to the surge limit. If surge occurs it can be supassed with a Greddy E01 or dual stage rpm activated boost control, adjustable cam gear etc. I had absolutely no surge with both these specs. Every car is different however. *The most fun I had with this turbo was with the turbine snout @ 51mm(no groove) which put it right into the surge zone. I had dual stage boost control which went from 11 to 15psi @ 4000rpm and eliminated my surge problem. Was absolutely awesome fun getting wheel spin in 4th on acceleration......on 18" 275 tyres ->not very drivable in the hills with the sledge hammer boost build. Each to there own * This turbo will not boost more than 16-17psi due to the turbine trim. It reaches max flow around that level anyway so extra boost would have no advantage. For those in the know a Turbonetics Super Vtrim compressor will proide 400rpm earlier boost response...Untested by myself. Happy Boostin
  5. yeah I'll grab one if you can post to sydney aswell.
  6. It's just the stage 2 light weight modification
  7. A/F ratio's look pretty good. They usaual go into the 11's and 10's with high boost and standard ecu....
  8. How about a tomei poncam with VCT 264 inlet and 256 exhuast... what lift are you referring to? If I'm thinking right this setup will increase exhaust velocity throughout the entire rev range....is that correct? Have you seen this setup used, if so can you provide us with some results cheers matt
  9. R33 runs 9:1 standard. So can you fit the variable air velocity system to an R33? I think I saw under the hood of an R33 just the other day with something looking very much like an R34 part just before the throttle body. Is that it .... big stepper motor hanging off one side?
  10. The turbo is the same so I'm guessing the cams is where the 206kw comes from compared to 184kw(R33).
  11. you can go up to 9mm without mods http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...haft-specs.html
  12. Are R34 cams able to be fitted into a R33? The specs are alot more tempting. With lift of 8.4mm inlet and 8.7mm exh compared to 7.8mm on the R33. The 34 cams are solid and 33 lash...not sure if that is an issue.. cheers matt
  13. http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gart3w63artu.html $649 slightly different with .7 comp and bell mouth inlet.
  14. I went out bush on exercise and missed the last bid. I went to $521US and it sold for $620 grrr
  15. I have one also
  16. I made 266rwkw on standard injectors, fuel reg. No cam. It went bang within six months. Lesson learnt.
  17. How many marks does -5 degrees retard equate to on the os cam gears? I also have OS and the marks are totaly different to HKS.
  18. RB20 9psi actuators are better, the rb25 runs 6psi.
  19. yes i am, A brand new one for under $1000.
