  1. Has anyone had any experience with this turbo with a .63 A/R exhaust housing? How would it compare to a HKS GT2835 Pro S with .63 Any info would be greately appreciated. Cheers matt
  2. delete me pls
  3. Thankyou Sydneykid, that helps alot. Were the 260 Poncams 8.5mm lift?
  4. Hi sydneykid, thanks for the info. What in essence exactly would going from 8.5mm to 9.5mm lift on the same duration cam make to power. Would it make no difference to off power band? How much extra power would be expected? Cheers matt
  5. Each cam wheel turns twice in relation to the crank....so 720- I am so confused. If each tooth is 7.5 degrees than 4 degrees retard relates to ~4mm, but if each tooth is 15degree than ~2mm is 4 degrees. Someone please give me a definate. Going off the HKS Cam gear markings. 2mm(two marks) equals 4 degrees, But, on my OS cam gears 2 marks equals 4mm..........Ahhh So this 4 degrees retard equats to what... I read from another thread warpspeed said that 15degrees per tooth was correct. help pls
  6. I have one. Pm me if you are interested. perfect condition.
  7. Series 2 computer wanted Cheers matt
  8. OK so the longer the duration the later power will be in the rev range and a lumpier idle. Is there any disadvantage from going higher lift ?? 8.5mm on my 264's seems abit low. Would there be much advantage from going to 9.5mm lift? Without upgrading springs that is. Power comes on very hard at 6000rpm with the 264's. I wouldn't want it any later. My head is also majorly ported. Is higher or lower lift better suited to a ported RB25? Sorry for all the questions but Julian's 21st Century Performance book doesn't help much.
  9. Whats size is the turbine? Also the size of the wastegate outlet....Whats is the reason for selling? .48AR exhaust housing seems extremely small for a T04b comp wheel. cheers matt
  10. Apexi sell an induction kit for either the 80 or 90mm Airflow meter. Is very sexy I must say. Greenline have them on their site.
  11. The CAS can't be installed wrong, it has a keyway that will only fit one way. It looks like a half circle.
  12. the optical 360 degree mark inside the CAS may be in a different spot in relation to the keyway by the sound of it. Like you said installing back into the same spot should give identical readings. something deffinately sus.
  13. I have an EVC 4 aswell. Low is one boost preset(everyday driving) and high is the other. Low cannot be set higher the high setting tho. Boost response is set while pressing three buttons at once and then the screen flashes -L- then you floor it in third from 1000rpm to redline. then the screen flashes -H- and you do the same. Boost curve is then set to optimal and cannot be changed. I have the instructions at home if you want to know which buttons to press i can't remember off hand.
  14. Nah I just adjusted the idle stop screw to much which made ALOT of difference on warm up. Is all sweet now =)
  15. I have Tomei cams. Mine have 264 8.5mm stamped on the rear bearing. The stockers have nothing. The difference is very noticable just from looking at the two side by side. Measure the lobe height and if it is 7.8 max then they are stockers. I think 8.5 is the smallest lift you can get. Steve: I can't swap the inlet cam for exhaust as it doesn't have the CAS keyway. Is making more power than the VVT now anyway (since I turned my cams gears the correct way...hehe opps)
  16. Jeeze- heaps of timing, I'll have to see what mine likes. I only started playing with my idle last night. I was refering to my standard cams in regards to hunting.I drove to work this morning and it sat on 2000rpm all the way... not cool lol. Love the sound at idle with the cams, it sounds so tuff. you can feel each individual explosion in your chest.
  17. Slo-32. If you are not interested in the T04 side...This turbo would be best suited using your current exhaust housing (.6A/R versus VG-.8A/R), which will bolt straight on (less lag). I will buy the comp cover, wheel and exhaust housing. You can bolt the rest on for a 30rwkw increase.
  18. I have this setup. It is a direct bolt on in every way. Is definately Ball Bearing. Looks like a T04B compressor form the pic. This turbo runs out of puff @17psi due to being a 1970's unefficient design. Don't get me wrong tho...it will make 250rwkw @ 15psi every day and I have seen 266rwkw on my previous stock engine. 1 Bar was made by 4000rpm and starts building boost b4 2000rpm. The closest comparable turbo is the HKS2835. The HKS builds boost a little quicker however. For the money I have never ever seen a turbo come close to the Hybrid VG/T04B. Tried and proven setups. R32- Machine the exhaust housing outlet snout to 51.5mm R33- Machine the exhaust housing outlet snout to 52.5mm or buy a TO4B "super" Vtrim compressor from turbonetics which will fit into the already machined comp cover and machine the backplate for spooling 800rpm earlier. =) PS If you have trouble selling pm me. I will snap it up, built it, and sell it for a $600+ profit
  19. Make sure the cold air pipe is 3inch min. Also remove the headlight rear rubber insulation. I had a 10rwkw drop with my sealed box and 2.5 inch cold air pipe. changed it to 4 inch quick smart.
  20. The first five cells I try to keep very similar(Ign)( no more than 18degrees from 15). I found with my 264 cams the richer i go the more stable idle is. The car wants soo much more air to idle that the idle up screw is all the way out and I had to re-adjust my throttle stop screw aswell.
  21. they come set to standard pressure. I installed one a couple of months ago.
  22. Closed loop has quite a major effect on idle. I would agree bringing the mixtures to stolich and then returning it to closed loop would give best results. Those without a PFC can do this by adjusting the idle bypass screw. I have seen a couple of lines hunting at idle because of faulty oxy sensors and aslo lean mixtures. I have had hunting and it has always been caused by lean mixtures. ie 16:1 being the center instead of 14.7:1. You can imagine with closed loop scrolling, the mixture going so lean and inducing studder and stall. I am currently running a series 2 ecu( thanks R33vit) which runs alot happier in closed loop than the series one. Idle is always perfect and Closed loop scrolling lean rich lean rich that is , happens twice as quick as the s1. In fact every aspect of the s2 ecu feels far superior. Oh and the s2 ecu will plug and work straight into a s1.
