  1. oh, in answer to your earlier question. My oil return pipe holes were already elongated out to fit from my HKS turbo's. I also removed an adapter from the oil inlet on the HKS's to fit the garretts.
  2. I removed all the broken teeth from my box and have been driving -around with no 3rd. Looks like I have an OS box lined up. I have recieved my FC-Datalogic so been doing some tunning. No idea on power levels, however boost response is insane and dataloging indicates faster accel between 1st and second with 1.4bar.
  3. the difference as far as I understand is the 33 gtr have pre-load on the transfer case, effectively have a small amount of drive going to the front wheels 100% of the time. electronic manipulation off the g-sensors cannot reduce drive to 100% rear wheel drive. The only way to do it is to remove the pressure from the transfer case which would involve a manual valve and pump or maybe a pressure pump modification. It can be done.....
  4. but it would work fine as the operating voltage is inside the normal 0-5v zone. Will tell u if the car is in closed loop and idle mixtures, as paul33r said tho narrow band 02 isn't useful for anything else. ie tunning
  5. I would expect the car to require a re-tune, may explain were some of the power is going. I would expect it to be running richer than before....
  6. I went to pick n payless. Magna head inlet studs are the same. cost me nothing
  7. loaded the car up in 4th and the GT2860R's made positive pressure @ 1900rpm. They start to ramp up quicky around 3500rpm.

  11. I can do a tune for you. I have the PFC software with wide band O2 datalogging and knock amp for headphone monitoring. Usually takes a couple of hours($300). I use the dyno @ Castle Hill Exhaust.
  12. I have 2 series 3 gearboxes sitting in my garage. One has 2nd broken and the other...now 3rd. Changing from 2nd to third quickly breaks em. Once its in gear it's fine

  16. The latest: I datalogged 1.4bar and 1.7bar and found my AFR dropping into 10.8:1, I leaned it off a little to 11.3 and did some more driving.....well alittle more. It felt pretty sweet until I got into third and broke my 6th gearbox, lol. These turbo's my have promise yet....... anyone got an OS Giken 1-3rd heical gearbox or gearset forsale???
  17. just ran my GT2860's at 1.75 bar, seat of the pants feeling is they run out of puff about 1.4-1.5 bar were as my HKS gt2530's were still happy. I did also change my manifold but I don't think it is related. At this stage my hks 2530's had a more on/off power with more efficiency up top and the garretts are more of a street turbo with good response but not the same top end that I like to run. I'll get a dyno graph done as I'm only guessing atm. I'm aiming for 500rwhp if the fall behind by over 70hp I'll upgrade.
  18. Ok, my 2860-5's are on. In forth it makes 15psi at 4200rpm. which is a few hundred rpm at least under my 2530's. I have only run 1.4 bar so far. I'll change my plugs and run 1.75 for a comparision run against my 380rwkw HKS GT2530's

  21. I think I will like them to....I wouldn't be supprised if they soon become the turbo of choice over the HKS 2530
