  1. Because teh blue is teh sexah, squizz.
  2. JETGTS, I'm after the drivers side window winder motor. Do you still have it, and how much do you want to for it? Also the drivers side button door panel would be good if it's still available.
  3. You'd have to get a new zorst manifold flange made, because the individual flange bits go in different directions. From what I've heard, you can't just cut off the old one and weld a new one on, because it'll be a weak point, and you're trying to support a heavy turbo on it.
  4. Personally speaking, when it comes to projects like this... unless you've got scads of cash and no full time job, you can't rush it. I know I can't... money is tightish (trying to buy a house), and I don't want to cut a corner, just to find that I've wrecked what could have been a powerful, solid, reliable engine. Slow and steady gets the smaller quartermile times.
  5. Unique Autosports have "race" sumps that hold up to 7L... might be worth checking out... but have to worry about how much it will affect your ground clearance at the front.
  6. IN YOUR PANTS!
  7. Of course, a nitrous system is fine on the track... but what's the legality of it being installed and active on the street? Anyone know? Might do some research after lunch as well... EDIT: Well, according to the OZrace site, it's illegal in Qld and WA to drive a car on the street with a nitrous system installled. Other states, it's allowed to be driven on the street with it in, but has to be disconnected from the engine.
  8. I'm Sciby... also known as... Sciby. Blue R33. Unh... that's about it. I work at CQU, like Squizz and know most of these retread heads in here. The end.
  9. Like Jish said, he gives the poor Ceffy a thrashing. I occasionally have trouble keeping up. (then I remember where the right foot is). If anyone sees him, tell him that Jishwa and Sciby say "Yeah... IN MY PANTS!!"
  10. Nah, you're not being paranoid. He probably does it that way because the quicker it's done, the quicker he can have smoko, or get onto the next job. You're just worrying about the safety of your car, which you paid for, and not the mechanic. Next time, do the oil yourself, let it drain in when you put the first lot in, let it settle, turn on the engine and let it idle until the oil pressure light goes out... then turn it off, top up and then go for a 10 minute drive.
  11. What about friday? We can go on a date afterwards.
  12. hey dev, have to get you to hook me up with the beam, my friend. Not going to drink beer. Will come visit thursday night. Count me in for the pressie.
  13. I just did the oil again... and I thought it might be time to change the sump washer, so I bought some fibre ones... anyway, pulled it out, copper washer looked okay, so decided to use that again, and put some of that thin white sealant tape around the thread... so it should be fine.
  14. Stock one.
  15. What happens with the engine remains to be seen... that's off in the future, anyway. Changeover will happen... er... when I can afford a few other bits and then sort out the plan of attack. Probably before the end of October.
  16. And I believe that would be ownage.
  17. Sorry Matt, just editted post as you posted. Read back. Edit, again: I seem to remember something about ceramics holding and holding and holding and then just letting go with a loud crack, whereas the nylon internals will peel and seperate over a period... dunno how long the period is, but I'd say that as soon as it starts, damage will increase exponentially.
  18. Nah, I got a ceramic turbo... the nylons are series 2 R33's. Jish, don't be talkin' whack about my mother, I'll bust you up, son. Edit: On the turbo thing, the ceramics will handle up to 14psi before they start coming apart... the nylons are worse, so the story goes... 12-13 being the break point... but some people might get lucky and get a good turbo from a good batch that can handle a bit more... personally I'm not worried about bits going down my exhaust, but VERY worried about bits of shattered impeller blade making their way into my plenum and into the engine. They'd have to make their weay through about 2m of piping and the intercooler... but still... at the cost of the engine, I'd rather not gamble.
  19. Yeeeessss... 15psi... that's why I have no turbine anymore. It went out my tailpipe. *smirks*
  20. http://www.garagespank.tk <- It's in there somewhere...
  21. Sorry, I meant "I hope I break through 14's into high 13's. T'would be nice." I've seen similarly spec'd skylines on here do 13's.
  22. Dude, relax. It's all good. First time out there, no one's expecting a record-breaking pass. And those stats are never really accurate... my gts should be about to break 14s, (I hope) and you're faster than I am.
  23. Top secret... okay then... go on.
  24. *thinks* Can't remember, sorry. I tend not to notice other cars when I'm driving... flash the lights at me next time, that always gets a reaction. (mainly because I think it's the cops)
