  1. The pod and afm move in together, they certainly seem happy together so far, and all their bits fit perfectly. Maybe I'll here the sucky-sucky of little filters in the engine bay soon... and yes, the socket set is a new mod, good for another 30hp at the wheels. With a bit of tweaking on the 12mm socket, the ScibyLine will run 9's. True shit, bro. Also reset the computer, and it all seems happy. Runs and idles much better, revs much freer down low and I accidentally... well... almost accidentally... okay fine, I dropped the clutch at about 5k and burnt the clutch for the 3rd time. You happy now?? (Cleaning out the AFM seems to not hurt anything and I can see how it would be beneficial. It's part of my servicing now.)
  2. The new air pod and the AFM meet, you can see on the right the total reaming of the old mesh area place thingy. That first photo is quite arty, with the ScibyLine just out of focus on the right... I could be a marketing photographer... or... er... maybe not.
  3. Oh, here's the contact cleaner now, getting to know the AFM on their first date. The large chunks of wood are from an unrelated project. The rear mesh, or remains thereof, is on the right.
  4. That's the front mesh there, it was utterly black when I got it out, I wiped all the gunk off the front, but I still ran a towel inside it later on. You can see some of the crap inside the afm, and this was after a blast with the contact cleaner

  6. I decided to take the HKS pod and the AFM off in one piece, here on the left, I've undone the hose clamp and wiggled the AFM out... tight fit. There's the sensor data cable, give that tab on the left a really really good squeeze, it should click, and it should pop straight off.
  7. Howdy all, I've just recieved my new happy A'pexi Super Happy Fun Power Funnel airfilter, and I was pondering what I had read in the AFM cleaning thread, whether I should do it or not. Well, I did it. Here's the pictures for the people who aren't sure. Here's the old HKS filter pod, dirty as a dog's bum, along with the rest of the engine bay. On the right is the AFM, waiting for the cleaning of a lifetime.
  8. The code for the two tone job is 1N3, which broke down into BN0 for the aqua blue and... er... something else for the grey. I just had to get a new grill painted, so I had great fun with finding out what colour matched up with what code. here's the end grill result.

  10. I managed to find some more info on the Apex'i RS zorst, the photos match mine exactly, and it claims it's a "high performance/low noise" system. *shrugs* It works. Edit: Here's the exhaust tip, hard to see the RS etching, but still...
  11. Hi all, When I bought my 'line, I was under the impression that it had a HKS zorst, and someone looked at a photo and commented that it looked like a HKS Superdrager. I've just seen a superdrager in the flesh (metal?), and while they're both 5"ers, they have different muffler bits at the back. Mine has a large oval box around it (no pics, sorry), and it has "RS Racing Sports" imprinted on either side of the exhaust tip. My brief flurry of googling has revealed that it might be an Apexi RS zorst, but I've never heard of them. Does anyone have any info on them, or have one, or any specs? The car runs more than fine, but still... I suddenly have an unknown zorst! :eek: I feel so violated.

  13. Howdy guys, The weather shield things over my windows on my 33 S1 are horrible and brown/purple from being in the sun. Anyone know where to get replacements? Or if there's a removal guide? Cheer sciby
  14. Hi guys, Has anyone had any success with fitting an FMIC behind the stock bar of a series one R33? This is the 93/94 bar, not the 95 bar. EG: I don't paticularly want to change to a big front bar, I like the way it looks now, and I don't need a massive IC, just something to help out and let me run a bit higher boost. Any suggestions or experiences would be helpful. cheers Sciby.

    Tres bizarre. I'm 27 with a rating 3. That may make some difference. *shrugs* When I went through my mods, I was asked what would actually enhance the performance of the car, in regards to power and capacity. None of them did, of course, and the exhaust and mags were only "10 points" on some scale, and therefore, not really counted. I dunno. When I get the r33 registered, I have to ring them back anyway, so I'll ask again.

    INteresting news about Suncorp... I mentioned the mods on mine: exhaust, airpod, wheels, suspension... they didn't bat an eyelid.

    What kind of stuffing about did they give you? I just insured with them for the R33. As for me, i got mine from japan, through Prestige Motorsport. It's finally in the country, off to the compliancers tomorrow. 2 weeks or so, and I'll be down to Bris to pick it up. :burnout:

  19. Frankly, I don't know why they don't have some type of sattelite tracking system. It would cost more, but they'd be able to sell to far more people. I live in Central Qld and I can't get the Quiktrack system up here.
  20. That's truly ****ed. The thief probably didn't care what car he got... it's white, and bucketloads of cars on the road are white... less conspicuous. I hope it's returned soon. *ponders how to electrify his R33's shell*

  24. Well, I'm not too concerned about upp'ing the boost just yet. I'd like to get the engine running sweetly as-is, then getting a fmic and winding up the boost, etc.
  25. Well, your input was still appeciated, Birty... still not sure what to get first. What are the benefits of getting a fmic first over a pfc?
