  1. Yeesssss, the dreaded rental deposits/keymoney/bond stuff. Makes living in the car almost bearable.
  2. Sawheet. What about tuning garages? Is "Up Garage" a chain or just a specific place? I have to stop highjacking threads.
  3. So in short, price points in japan are lower than australia? Garoovy. At the moment, I'm considering an R33 GTR, an FD RX7 (if I'm capable of fitting in one. ) or a Chaser Tourer V... hopefully should be able to find something decent, I hope. Thanks guys, much appreciated.
  4. RB25 cams are 240 duration, 7.5mm (I think) lift.
  5. Well, at the moment, I'm thinking about doing two years there (Unless I hate it)... rural one year, urban the other. I think rural would be best first, with visits to the city... I get a bit funny around *really* big crowds, so maybe the country would be best... but there'll be no super-autobacs out there.
  6. Hi guys, Got a couple of quick questions about japan... - Can you legally drink alcohol in the streets? I'm guessing 'yes', since there's beer/alcohol vending machines. - How much do prices for car parts differ between Oz and Japan?. - How much do prices differ on cars differ between Oz and Japan? Why I ask is because when I move over, I'd like to buy a car to bring back with me under personal import rules... since I have to own it for a year, my time will be limited when I move over for buying a car. I'll have about $25k aud (Just under 2m yen) to spend on the car... and mods will come over the year as I work, if it's stock. A good example car would be an R33 GTR... in oz they're between $35 and 45k... how much would I roughly expect to pay over there? Can they be had for a comparative bargain? Am I just wasting my time trying to do this? Should I just store the ScibyLine until I get back? All these questions and more...
  7. DaiOni, I can't believe I only found this thread, more, more! Utterly fantastic, makes me want to try to go rural when I move over.
  8. Yup, it's HICAS. The R32 hydraulic HICAS is a bit more hamfisted than the later Super HICAS versions... best to get a lock bar and just remove the damn thing. Do a search in here to find out how to do it for a 32.
  9. Is there a cute little S2000 or MX5 that keeps driving past it? It might be getting excited.
  10. Engine light will come on if oil is low... might want to check oil pressure, temps, etc.
  11. Eh, I ripped the wing off my fullsized toy.
  12. lol, fair enough. I've had one done 'raw' now, so if I took drugs or used Emla cream from now on, I won't feel like I"m cheating.
  13. skyhigh: HICAS will feel like you're losing traction on the back end for a second, which then re-catches itself... if that makes any sense. Bung shocks will be all over the place any time, regardless of cornering or driving straight.
  14. Erk... There'll be a few holes in the bootlid... mine's been like it for a while... options are a drift wing, tape over the holes (my choice) or get a panel beaters to fill the holes and repaint...
  15. Daioni, so you got it done with a gun? I felt the same burning sensation when i got mine black-filled in... outline, could feel the outline needle ripping through... was cool though, got into a kind of mental state where I could feel each puncture from the needle... for those who haven't had it done... it does hurt, won't lie there, but you get used to it, and if you want a tattoo seriously, then the small amount of pain is worth it for something that is important to you.
  16. Well, just have to make sure mine is covered up.

    Fuga??

Yeah, all cream leather and suede lining. I like the blue dials and silver 'metal' though.
  18. SkY031, I can't comment on bamboo tattooing, but I've had standard needle gun tattooing done, if that helps? Actually, your post reads like you've had gun tattooing done and want to go up that extra level.
  19. They're a wee bit of a trade off... lose a bit of torque down low, but who the hell cares because you're into the meaty power/torque zones faster, so it's all good. If you really care about torque (as we all really should), do a 3L conversion or put some cams in.
  20. Or much wider people.
  21. Woot! Darrin, I'll be down in Bris in 2 weeks, so might have to arrange a pickup from you.
  22. Nope, not yet... ... hmmm... ... almost there... ... okay, all your again. I'm at work, I need to generate my own entertainment. Edit: Actually, I'll help it get back on track... the whole height thing. I've heard that they're not all dwarfs as the urban legends may tell us... but then Streeter who's 6' tall said that he's larger than most... very confusing.
  23. Japanese cars... Japanese women... Beer vending machines... Drinking in the street... Love hotels... Japan truly is the promised land.
  24. Wow, interesting... I"m guessing all the sections are prefectures? Also, I never realised Korea is directly west, always thought it was more to the south. Got a friend at the uni of seoul wanting me to visit, and vice versa, so good to know. Damnit, why isn't it july 2005? I wanna go now!
