ben , my mate left croydon with around 12:1 and ended up at sas with 12.7:1. to be honest he hasnt had a problem . we actually rang jim at dart late yesterday afternoon about this . he said he has built quite a few 400 + kw gtr engines that have been aggressively tuned by croydon and refuse to give up . he believes it all comes down to how sensible the driver is . he told us he has built around 85 gtr engines in the last 5 years and many of the ones that came in blown up were only making around 250kw with 11.5 :1 mixtures , but were driven as if they were stolen . we're looking forward to visiting dart and meeting jim.

Ive noticed quite a few guys like you ben , have engines built by jim at dart and tuning by jim at croydon. these two shops must obviously have a good working relationship which is rare . its good to be able to use both guys , get 2nd opinions , all without causing friction .

another thing you might find interesting was that the car was showing a leaner mixture on the sas dyno as compared to crd . we then borrowed a motec lamda meter and confirmed it was leaner . interesting to see what afr reading you got from darts dyno as compared to crd .

Ben , i had a close friend dyno his power fc at croydon and finished with 280kw . he drove straight around the corner to silverwater autos new dyno dynamics awd and it the same car made 258kw over 3 runs , all within 2 kw. not bagging crd , but i dont believe dynolog reads ( much less ) . crd"s dyno has been proven to be happier than other dd"s or jim must be bumping it up for a good result , then detuning slightly so you can drive away safely.

good result . i would have to say darts dyno figures would be more (real world ) . im sure if you were to visit a third dyno shop i would be proven right . nevertheless a good result . you should have asked dart to reset your cam sprockets and check difference to get a real indication . i think youll be suprised to find not much at all . i know coz ive tried this with pon cams elsewhere.
