    Super Gt 2008

Super GT-R (March 2008) Nissan's GT-R has won the opening Super GT round at Suzuka -- on debut The Nissan GT-R has placed first and second in its motorsport debut at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. Driven by Satoshi Motoyama and Benoit Treluyer, the winning number 23 Xanavi Nismo GT-R started from the second position on the grid in the opening round of the Japanese Super GT series, before a race-day crowd of 32,000. The number 22 Motul Autech GT-R, driven by Michael Krumm and Masataka Yanagida, started from pole position and lost the lead to the number 23 car on lap 24. Motoyama had opted for a softer compound of tyre, which gave his GT-R the legs on the number 22 car. Motoyama's co-driver, Treluyer, accepted blame for the team's car not starting from pole. "Our team and the car have been perfect all through the weekend. It was a shame that we did not take a pole position due to my mistake. We know competition will be tougher but believe we can win again since the GT-R is very fast," he said. Two GT-Rs failed to finish, one due to mechanical problems on lap 42 and the other crashing out of the event after being slammed in the rear during the first lap. source: http://www.carpoint.com.au/car-review/2907113.aspx Third place for the race went to a Lexus SC430.
  12. thanks for all the tips guys!
  13. 60ft time was 2.11 thanks for the tip! ye i'm def going to invest in making the exhaust to turbo back me thinks!
  14. ye id love to break into the 13 seconds... and then i will be happy. My car is a daily driver, ive had it for about 5 years and i've done 110,000 km's on it since ive got it... I rekon maybe with a FMIC, high flow cat + dump pipe i could improve the top end a bit and maybe break into the high 13's! But at the same time, as it is now, its great for day to day street driving / over taking and quicker off the line than more modified / tuned manual R33's of some of my mates and i don't know if i want to lose that to gain a few milliseconds on the drag strip!
  15. hmmm really? the weather could also play a part i guess....on friday (when i went) it wasnt too bad, track temp was about 24 degrees.. 60ft time was: 2.11 660' - 9.12 @ 125 km/h
  16. Hey all, Went to calder last friday for the 1st time and and ran my car a few times, was wondering what sort of times other similiar cars was getting as i was going up against 11 sec cars! My car and Mods: 1993 R33 Gts-t (Auto) Performance mods: Apexi N1 catback Exhuast R34 Side mount cooler running 9 Psi Tyres: 17 inch rims with 245 continental tyres (about 60% thread) 22 PSI and everything else is pretty much stock. Not tuned or anything like that. My best time was: 14.29 @ 157 km/h most my times was between 14.3 and 14.6 - i had about 11 runs. I found that the car would launch hard but then die in the last 100 meters
  17. I read somewhere (edmonds i think) that the GTR's have dedicated drivers that Run the engine in b4 it leaves the factory so you can thrash it straight away
  18. whoa! what a great garage! i love monaros! its tempting for people to compare HSV's with GTR's, but you cant really, 2 whole diff cars for different markets! both are great cars! i think you will find that most people who have an idea about motoring appreciate them for what they are, its usually the morons that think one car is the be and end all of cars.
  19. ohhhhhh love the last few secs....it sounds mean! imagine with less restrictive exhuast!
  20. witchcraft.
  21. quote: "will run in the standout donut king colours".....yes it will stand out cos it will be fluro pink....great the 1st chance most people will get to see a GTR down under and it will be pink. http://www.targa.com.au/Media/Releases/GTR.jpg *choke*
