i've had V1's for about a year and a bit now, best tyres ive ever hard. Grips so well and wears well too and great in the wet! I got 225's all round and seems to get really good traction in all conditions.

yes the aston interiors....i rekon the best interiors known to man...look at that clock for example...its like something TAG would make...the attention to detail is amazing...it might not be quick pound for pound but its still a hot car, and also has anyone heard the sound the Aston v8 makes? unbelivable....

Why dont they make P platers do advanced driving course or courses and also make the actual getting the P plate itself a bit tougher? that would make more sense to me, so once they hit the road they have some sort of skill. I think 'one strike and your out' idea is just stupid, it doesnt achieve anything. They should try andstop accidents before they happen. At the moment there is just as chance of a P plater being done for not having a light working or hitting a tree at full tilt, sometimes you dont get a second chance. I also think it comes down to attitude changes. And while im at it, This whole, speed kills campiagn, yes speed does kill, but its more bad drivers that kill. The best example is Germany. Where they have 1. skilled drivers, 2. better roads 3. Autobharns and 4. less road deaths. This is no co incidence, and the sooner our pollies realise this instead of trying to figure out quick fixes because they feel like they have to, the better it is for everyone. I also dont understand why they have speed cameras on like a 5 lane freeway with dead straight road (like the west gate freeway near millers road), to stop people speeding? for what a whole 20 seconds? its all a lot of crap most of the speed cameras ive seen are located not in dangerous spots of road but on areas where they can get the most people. so clearly its not there to stop people from having accidents (or slowing down for that matter) its all about the revenue. while every year more than 10 people die on the calder freeway because they try and cross the freeway to get to the otherside. Maybe they should invest some of those millions they earn on, exit ramps so people dont have to play russian roullte trying to cross a freaking freeway, rather then cut the speed of the 'freeway' to 80 km'h a hour now cos all that has done is make the usual heavy traffic on there even heavier. what ever happend to common sense?

I dont have a problem with people comparing diff model cars, your right it is human nature, however there is sometimes the danger of the discussion turning into a 'boy racer' type discussion which is fueled by bias and non factual information. which tends to happen with a lot of these skyline vs other car comparisons. Do a search its been done to death and there is never a true answer to which is better, because it comes down to the indivudal, thus me saying 'different horses for different courses.' And a lot of people who comment in these sort of posts havnt even driven both cars (or any of them for that matter) so you can understand how i come to that conclusion. Not saying all the posts are like this, there are a fair few well informed and rational posts, however some of the comments are a laugh. as with any car make forum you cant seriously expect a 'fair' comparisson becuase some people think that their car is gods gift to man. PS: i love my R33 Gts-t, and i wouldnt trade it for anything in that price range, but i also know that there are plenty of better, faster and newer cars. anyways thats my 2cents.

this topic has been coverd a fair bit, its very hard to compare the 2. the only thing they got in common is the fact that they are turbo nissan coupes and the simlarities end there. Having said that though, their both great cars.it really comes down to what you like looks wise and also which car feels better to drive. def throughly drive both of them to get a good idea on what you really want cos either way the resale value is crap with most imports now days..and also consider the superior torque of a straight 6. and i guess it would be fair to say that stock for stock brand new from the factory the R34's would have cost a bit more, i dont know if that really means anything, but i guess what im trying to say is that the skylines are the 'premium' sports coupe to come out of japan at the time. anyways what does it for me is that, its hard to go past the sound of an RB With a nice exhuast and a cold air intake...i could just sit there and listen to it 24/7. PS: whats wrong with your xr6T? thats a pretty sweet ride, why dont you just upgrade to a Typhoon instead? more power + more room then both the 34 and s15 and u prob would even get a factory warrenty!

i donno, im undecided, i think im leaning towards the general view of only a GTR is 'worthy' of a GTR badge, but hey if you want to do it, well then do it...its your car at the end of the day...though it is a bit sad if you got a say R33 GTS and put on a GTR badge and keep trying to drag people and dont go as well as you might like....not a good look for the name... (not that we condone any sort of street dragging on here) but i guess a lot of people do it? i mean take a look at how many people re badge soarers with Lexus badges, Hondas with Acura badges and im seeing more and more Holden utes with Chevy badges? well, i think it all evens out in the end, i mean we have 100000000000 x 50 more speed cameras in Vic, just look at the new set up they got goin on the western ring rd, a speed camera over every over pass pretty much....(ok so im a little over the top but u get the drift) while we get to keep 'fully sik' induction noise, we cant really go anywhere with it without being dicked by the 'Bracks' gold mine.

i bought them too, lasted about 3 months, not worth it if you ask me, but you cant expect much from 20 dollar bulbs. yest there was a white R33 behind me on the tulla, it had really nice bright blue/white lights wonder what they were, they were different to any other aftermarket globes ive seen, maybe he had a HID conversion.

arguably something like a apexi panel filter will work more ‘efficiently’ and also suck in a lot less hot air compared to a open pod, but aftermarket panel filters (from my experience) don’t sound as good as a good pod (if you like that induction noise). What can I say, I’m a sucker for that. Excuse the pun.

is it me or why do i still think that my car feels nicer and smoother and 'quicker' on Vortex 98 even compared to V power racing? Car: R33 gts-t (auto) with basic mods my best mate with a stock R33 Gts-t Manual has the same opinion?

exhuast around 500 (But this was like 2 years ago, im sur eu could get it for cheaper now) GTT cooler (got it 2nd hand for like 180 fairly recently) If you want a Front Mount, depending on the brand you could prob get the piping and cooler now for like $400+ (dont quote me on that) or so, but you gotta be careful not to get a shit front mount cos there is a fair few cheapo ones around that wont cool all that well...better to spend some money and get a decent /reputable one. I hear the hybrid ones are pretty good for the price. but this is not from personal experince. THe K&N pod and braket i got for like 70 bucks brand new and the bleed valve was bought from ebay like 3 years ago for $80 but their a lot cheaper now, should be able to pick up a good one from here for like 30 bucks. I remb there was a post from a guy who made a awsome homemade bleed valve with great reviews.

I am also a silly lankan, I also have a R33 Auto with some mods, Ive got (performance wise) At the moment apexi N1 3.5 catback exhuast (plan to turn it into a turbo back soon) Which is pretty quite and sounds great when u push it. R34 GTT side mount cooler - bigger core and better flow then the stock R33 cooler without needing new piping etc (lots of good things on this mod on a lot of SAU posts if you do a search) Turbosmart Bleed valve running 10PSI - wouldnt want to run anymore than this (most of the time you wont be able to anyway due to fuel cut from the factory ECU) K&N pod filter - i should really heat sheild this. those mods havnt cost me a arm and a leg as i bought the exhuast and cooler 2nd hand and the car is pretty quick, around 170 RWkw's The auto box's on the R33's can handle a bit of power without needing to be modified, anything upto 190 to 200 rwkw's. Another quick note i might add is (now this is argubale) i find that the best wheel size to get the power down around the kw's rating i have is 17's with 225's or 235's at the back. it doesnt matter how much kw's you have, if you cant get the power down then its pointless. I personally think the best way to get the most out of your car is to maintain it really well, that means doing ur servicing regularly (every 5K's in my case) with good quality products and follow proper warm up and warm down procedures (although this is a given for most turbo cars i thought id add in that since you said your new to the scene) I also find that some fuels make the car run 'better' then others (and again this is argubale but im just posting MY opinion) i fidnt hat Vortex 98 is the best for MY car. (lots of threads and opinions on fuels through out the forums) The next mods i plan to do is a split dump pipe / front pipe and a high flow cat (as mentioned before) and then wack on a SAFC (hopefully 2 or a Neo) and get it tuned and i think i'll stop there....though i always say that. It never ends...

Hey guys, just curious to know, would installing a SAFC (1 or 2 or Neo), would it also act as a Fuel Cut Defender? as in i wouldnt need to get a FCD as well as a SAFC to combat the Fuel cutting at boost? cheers, Din.
