i got a 351 for my cobra replica from melb to adelaide on a pallet a few yrs ago that come thru toll was 90 bucks i picked it up from the depot the next afternoon

why cant ya use o rings instead of fibre washers they would isulate the body of the coil from the engine?

theres not enough profit in rebuilding them thats why they wont do it . we wont recon them where i work and we are reluctant to fit 2nd hand ones customers supply there made fully aware that there is no comback if it fails . however we try to look after them with a good price on a new one when possiable . plus as someone has said parts for some of the stuff is really hard to come by

80 to 90 bucks a hr is what most workshops charge

you will find one of the teeth are either broken or worn that clicking sound is a pain in the arse . i replaced one in my sons car we paid 45 bucks for a second hand one that hasent given any trouble since . fun job getting the dash out and back in again lol good luck with it . think the correct name for it is the blend door actuator

well a lot of skyline owners dont help the cause either driving like tools .and thats what the public see hell im 48 and love my skyline and i get people ask what are you doing driving a hoons car at your age lol. things like youtube and skylines owners doing burnouts and driving at high speeds dont do much for our image im afraid

take the hicas globe out from the dash if it stays on after ya fit ya bar . from what i have seen some cars the light will still come on other cars it stays out . i took the globe out anyway no light now lol

whooo hoooo all fixed took it for a spin today up the hills with the aircon on it's another stinking hot day in adelaide and the needle sat a fraction just under half and did not move at all . cleaned out rad and new top tank . new thermostate . flush all old coolent out and replace with new total cost around 200 bucks . im as happy as a pig in poo . found the problem in my sons car why his overheated it has split the turbo water line behind the head looks loke a prick to get at and fix . bugga he can wait till the weather cools down lol mines fixed thats the main thing lol cheers mid life crisis

hopefully have fixed my overheating probs will find out when i put the rad back in the car on the weekend . took my rad to work and sent it of to the guys that do our rads for our work . turns out it was about 40% blocked and the top tank wasent the best adding to that my thermostat was not working properly hardly operning in a boiling saucepan of water hopefully it's sorted . on the other hand tonight my sons r33 looks like it has blown a hose behind the head somewhere will bring the pressure tester home from work tommorow and see what going on there . this hot weather in adelaide is taking its toll atm . we have so many people phoning and driving off the street for aircon regass it's running us off our feet good for the boss i supose tho lol

my mrs had a v6 camry she brought it new and it had only done 120.000 ks in about 10 yrs she babied this thing when a service was due it went in right on the knocker, i was lucky to even get a drive of it after been together a few weeks i said how about i take ya for a nice drive in the hills in your car . end result it thru a rod thru the sump dumped all the engine oil onto the hot cat and presto one crispy fried camry on the side of the road lol . all is forgiven we are still together 4 yrs later

i think you need to talk to the builder dont get agro or nasty just explain your concerns and see what happens . if you go in full of agro you wont get half as far it may not even be the builders fault iit maybe a faulty o ring on the filter or something really simple .and if you go in full of agro it will only make you look like a tosser atm its only a oil leak its not like its thrown a rod thru the block just beat by the post above

cheers for that gary i thought if i got one that opened a bit earlier it might help with my cars prob of running to hot in hilly areas on 40 deg plus days . how ever i just pulled my old one out and stuck it in a saucepan on the stove it did fully open but the water was almost boiling b4 it started to move at all . so i suspect the one thats in there is not playing the game right atm it is a standed nissan one 76.5 so i think i will replace it with the same type as the one i just pulled out thanks for your advice cheers dean

150 bucks is far to dear for a 62 deg thermostate just cause its got a nismo sticker on im not paying for wank value . im sure there are other 62 deg thermo made by other companys that will work exactley the same . i dont see nismo thermostates stuck in every nissan ever made. i will go thru the catalogs from our suppliers when im at the workshop next
