  1. im just curious to know if i can drop a set of hks 272 duration with 10.2 mm lift into a standard head casting???? im not entirely sure if there is a set that requires machining for clearence but thought id ask the question.... ive heard that some high lift cams require relifes to be machined out of the head for the increased lobe size... does anybody know whats the max on a standard rb26 head casting??? thanks denis
  2. you can buy a complete rear end from the wreckers, cost around 1 grand. you must use r33 gts t handbrake cables. ring a jap wrecker, and it must be r32 gtr, 33 doesnt bolt into chassis
  3. i have a rb26/30 in my s15 and i use a complete gtr rear end, the whole thing bolts into the s15 chassis.... if you decide to use this, i think the final drive (4.11:1) will be too tall for your 6 speed as the s15 comes with 3.7:1.. this is the only thing against you... and tailshaft will be different otherwise, the complele rear end shits all over the s15 ass end, the gtr uses a mechanical lsd, it has alloy stub axles, and thicker drive shafts... good piece of gear compared to the s series chassis cars... and you will never break it
  4. the gtk, have problems with the water cooled centers, they are a good turbo, but for the price id go for a billet or its turbo... by far better quality for your money

  6. the 35r is rated to 650 with the .63 housing, so with a 1.06 housing its much more like 750 to 800

  9. i understand and agree with you totally, but look at the boost its running, thats big boost, for that amount of psi going thru the motor, you would think that the turbo would come into its own and it would be in its efficiency range by far..... have a look at the clip again... listen to the turbo ramping and then listen to the revs of the motor, there is not real much positive gain from the forced induction.... this is what i mean.. im not bagging the motor, it makes power, but the way it makes it is doesnt seem right, to me it seems like its a massivly decompressed motor obviously making the power but look at the boost its eating, it revs way to slow, it eats 2.1bar boost and all on 98 pump fuel.... this is the characheristics of a decompredded motor... im building a 30/26 now, with 8.8-1 comp.. and i tell you when it comes on boost it will come on... and it will be a t04z with a 1.0rear.... and the aim wil be to make it rev like this machine.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caoHNZFufHU this is how the engines should be set up... rb30 have in my eyes a very good rod ratio... 1.8-1. if you car rev out a 26 so hard there is no reason why you cant do it to a 30... especially with a twin cam head...
  10. thats good power but for that ammount of boost, i think there is somthing wrong, the motor doesnt even sound like its really opening up.... it sounds like there is no peak kick thru the rpm...

  16. considering whats in the engine thats as cheap as u will find a proper built sr20... go buy carillo rods and see what they set u back on their own... then u will appreciate this price. good buy mate, good luck
  17. they have no right to crush personal belongings for illegal use... we pay registration for the roads, and pay tax on that, we pay insurances which incur a tax, we pay tax on the modification's we get done so i am totally against this as most people are. this law would only egg people on to do the runner from the cops if there were put in this position, i know i defiantly would do the runner if i knew they would try and crush my car. secondly, cops are pieces of shit anyways, they are biased and unjust people, i know from experience and i hope the cop that tried to put me in massive shit reads this now, because i know hes unemployed...

  20. planning to run a r32 gtst cross member and i think i have 2 run 33 gtst mounts
  21. id jus like to know what the standard main bolts that hold the cradle and caps in would hold at the wheels?? also what sump would i have to use to run in a s15?
  22. i have a gt-k 500 for my s15, im in the same boat as u are, yet to even put motor into car.... these turbos are supposed to spool up a minimum of 30% earlier that a garrett turbo that is 1 size bigger.... and turbonetics underrate thier turbos.... the gt-k850 you have there is rated to a minimum of 850 horsepower.... the dudes in the states recon that my engine setup on the sr20 will make 480hp at the wheels quite easily on aussie pump fuel..... abit crazy in a s15 but i love it... what power you aiming for???
